Bonjour lecteurs! As we were lucky to be invited to check out Legoland last week, we decided to have a little family break and I booked a night in a hotel not far. Before Baba, we used to have mini breaks in spa hotels across the country. Every half-term would pretty much be a new adventure for us. But we have not done much like this since becoming parents. Bien sûr, we had some fabulous holidays: Norfolk with le bébé. And more recently, Disneyland just after moving house. But it is rare that we indulge and stay at a luxury hotel. Our Stay at the Great Fosters Hotel in Egham was more than welcome and we all had a great time!
The Great Fosters in Egham (Surrey)
The Great Fosters Hotel in Egham is a luxury country house hotel in Surrey. Set amongst 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland, this is not only a great venue for weddings and some fancy afternoon tea!
As soon as we arrived, we were able to see the very anglaise outdoors swimming-pool where some residents were relaxing. Baba was well excited. After having spent the previous night at Nanny S, it needs to be said that the Frenchie bébé was living THE Life, right?
He was eager to come in and see the room. Pushing along his very own suitcase (the Trunki we received for the Summer is so fab! Baba is loving pulling it like an adult!), we were introduced to our fancy room.
I booked a junior suite so that we could have as much space as possible.
Some Lovely Space!
Baba was soon on the sofa playing on his tablet while Grumpy Boyfriend started watching the World Cup! We arrived just in time for him to see the game kicking off… Une coïncidence? I don’t think so!
It was too lovely outside and I wanted to explore more the fabulous premises!
So Baba and I went for a walk amongst The Cloisters and The Coach House. It was lovely and so green! Plus very quiet. Idéal for a family as you have your very own space and you will not bother other guests.
Your little ones can enjoy the view and discover new things like water lilies and more greens!
Let’s Crash the Party!
As the venue is very famous for hosting some stunning weddings, we decided to have a closer look!
After playing with the confetti (it took me a little bit to get him away from those!), we explored the law and played some cricket. And then we moved onto le fameux connect 4 country version s’il-vous-plaît!
Baba was eager to show me how to do it… He was also intrigued by the Pimms and the microphone!
The Great Fosters’ Gardens
We eventually saw the magnificent gardens! Across 50 acres of greens, we had such a blast!
We ran around the mazes, looked at the local art and so much more!
Baba was happy to do his own catwalk along the lake for other guests to see how fashionable he was.
Let’s say that we ran around and explored the whole park for a little while before we got tired!
It was time to join Grumpy Boyfriend and get him out the room for some dinner!
The Cocktail Bar and Terrace
As the weather was truly stunning (fingers crossed this will last!), we sat down on the terrace for some drinks.
A bit of gin and tonic for Frenchie Mummy and Baba played around a bit more!
We posed for more pictures because really, it was too beautiful to be missed!
We had fun smelling the flowers and dancing outside. Don’t forget there was a wedding taking place and Baba would not have had it another way!
The little one got very tired. After a well-deserved sleep in our huge bed (why did I bother ordering a spare one for him?), it was time to set off for Legoland!
But not before enjoying a sumptuous breakfast. I brought all the croissants and other gourmandises on the table for us to share. Mais Baba decided otherwise… It was to be all his!
The Great Fosters Hotel in Egham – Le verdict
Looking back at the pictures while writing this post about Our Stay at the Great Fosters Hotel in Egham, it is clear that Baba really loved the place. The staff was lovely and eager to please.
We really enjoyed our spacious room as well as the very beautiful venue. It was a very relaxing break for the Frenchie family. As we are not doing this often, I decided to book a very sumptuous place and it was really worth it!
If you plan to visit Legoland with your famille and want to stay not too far in a beautiful historic place, I strongly recommend The Great Fosters Hotel in Egham. Both the gardens and the premises are gorgeous while the staff is attentive!
Fancy a bit of luxury (because really, life is too short to stay in a so-so hotel!)? Book a room in this fabulous hotel for some gorgeous walks or a delicious cocktail al fresco while your little one is running around in the maze and you fully pretend he is not yours… After all, mamans need a break sometimes!
Thanks for reading our thoughts of The Great Fosters Hotel in Egham. A truly beautiful place before embarking on an adventure full of Legos! We will shortly update you about this one on the blog so stay tuned and enjoy the sun with a bit of prosecco!

Looks so lovely ? really nice to see such a luxury place welcoming children! That picture of him with the confetti is amazing l!
It looks a peaceful, relaxing hotel. A welcome change after a long journey on busy roads. With 50 acres there would be room for the children to let off steam too before having to curb their exuberance in the more formal areas,
Oh wow that looks stunning, really beautiful. I am sure we looked at this hotel when we were looking for a wedding venue! You have caught some beautiful pictures. I hope you had an amazing time at Legoland too xx
