Bonjour lecteurs! The sun is out, Spring is (eventually!) on its way and it feels good. What are you plans for the next half-term in May? We are off to Crete soon and I can’t wait to spend some quality time with my tribe. While trying to meet all my deadlines, I could not forget to reflect on April 2024 and write my last monthly highlights. Over the last few weeks, I was busy with my famille and I came to realise that life is not all about goals after all…
Easter Monday
If you read my summary of March 2024, you would have remembered that I was not super well for the Easter Weekend.
Perimenopause is starting to hit me hard and I am looking for options to help it. But we still made it for a walk in the woods and we even spent Easter Monday at Nanny S.
That was a great way to start April 2024, even if it was so cold! I can’t believe I read an article the other day stating that the UK witnessed its hotter April since the 40s! Do they media really think we are stupid? I nearly put the heating on last month as it was so cold! Rant over…
Brighton
Let’s talk about something that really makes me happy: a good adventure with the boys!
And this time, we made it to Brighton. It was so good to be on the seaside and the Leonardo Hotel was the right pied-à-terre for us to explore the area.
We had not been down there for like 6 years and we loved walking along the beach. Plus, we checked out the fameux Brighton i360, which was absolutely awesome!
And on the way home, we stopped by the National Trust Bateman’s and it just completed our mini trip. We love visiting places like this.
Easter Holidays
The Easter Holidays carried on and juggling the house, work and Stanley was truly on.
I know it sounds like a far away memory now, but what did you get up to pour l’occasion?
Thank god for Barracudas Camps, I managed to get some work done while Stanley was there.
We LOVE Barracudas Camps; if you need some help with childcare over the Summer holidays, I can not recommend it enough!
I take him every year to our local camp in Canterbury and then I go to Fenwick with my laptop to complete some work.
Everyone is happy: he gets to do many activités and I have peace of mind while I can run my business.
London Baby!
The school holidays went very quickly in between our adventures and him staying over at Nanny S.
And to finir en beauté, we made it to London for one more day of fun.
I absolutely LOVE this area and the Bottomless Brunch at OXBO Bankside certainly did not disappoint. You’ve got to check it out.
We stayed many times at the beautiful Hilton London Bankside both as a family and as a couple and we always have a sensational time there!
En plus, we also stopped by Puttshack and I won a pizza while playing a game of mini golf!
Not a bad day!
La Costa Dorada
Things were to get better as I got invited to a fabulous press trip with Jet2holidays to La Costa Dorada.
Quel rêve! While the boys stayed at home (party time for them too I am sure…), I explored some beautiful places on the coast line in Northern Spain.
Have you ever been there? It’s absolutely beautiful! I even published a list of must-do activities in the area so check it out.
We stayed at the H10 Imperial Tarraco In Tarragona, which was la place parfaite to explore the Spanish coast.
Back Home
I was very sad to come back home. I LOVED the food, the people, the sunshine in Spain…
And coming back home to a cold and miserable England was a bit hard. Plus, our boiler broke down again and we had no hot water.
Sometimes, life can be funny. You feel fabulous, like you reached your zenith. But Fate reminds you very quickly that you are just a little atom in the universe…
Nothing was working out and we encountered problèmes after problèmes for the rest of April 2024
Look For The Hearts
My new fave guru Mel Robbins, always says to look for beauté in this world. She keeps going on and on about looking for hearts in your life, so I am doing this.
And while reflecting on April 2024, I realised that I achieved nothing. Well maybe not quite! After all, my family was happy and we still made some lovely memories.
We went to the Marlow Theatre to see Shrek the Musical par exemple. That was absolutely awesome! And I am safe, I am loved etc…
Life If Not About Goals
Sometimes, you simply have to stop worrying about evolving and moving forward. If it does not happen, so be it.
To be honnête, I look back at April 2024 and I feel like I did not do much towards my life goals.
I did not get fitter, I did not make more money, I did not secure any new clients.
But I have been more mindful. I celebrated little things like a walk in the country or having a laugh with my boy.
I suppose like many out there, I am a bit lost. The war, the economic situation… There is so much ugly out there, it’s sometimes hard to keep going, but we must do. There is no choice and I know that right now, things are very difficile but it’s because we are meant for greater things in the future. It’s all about being resilient and keep doing it, EVERY SINLGE day, every little step at the time.
More Adventures Await
Whatever hurdles life is throwing at me, I am always trying to be grateful. I look around and I know that we are better off than many others.
I am not doing that great, but it could be worse. At least, we get to experience some of the greatest things in life thanks to my blog.
We have a roof above our head and food in the fridge. And more importantly, we, as a family, have so many adventures in the diary that I am very much looking forward to.
So I will take it and don’t worry about my personal and work goals for now. If I carry on, it will happen.
Even better now that the sun is out!
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! This a post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country and London. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures.
Enjoy your holiday in Crete! A week of guarenteed sunshine during a school holiday is a nice thought!
