July 2023 – Stop Waiting! Just Start!

Bonjour lecteurs! What a blast July 2023 has been for us! Is it Summer yet in the UK? Just asking for a friend because the sun has been hiding a lot over the last few weeks ? But it has not stopped us from having some cool adventures in Kent & London. And more importantly, I learned a good life lesson. Stop waiting! Just Start! Here are my monthly highlights for you with some Frenchie wisdom.

Food Or Work?

We started July 2023 en beauté with some delicious food at our local Giggling Squid restaurant.

Do you like Thai food? Pour l’occasion, we stopped by Maidstone. It was très bizarre to be in town because we had not been down there for quite a while.

But we discovered a new place we like and that made me happy. Sometimes, simple things are the best! Especially when the rest of the weekend was all about catching up with work. I had a lot to do after my recent trip to Croatia with Jet2!

Cool Places To See In London

And because of work, I might have missed a family day out. But I made sure to make up for it!

We spent the next weekend in London, visiting the London Eye and Shrek’s Adventure.

But it was really good and Stanley absolutely LOVED both attractions.

Can you believe I had never made it to the fameuse wheel even though I lived in London for over a decade? Crazy, I know…

So good to catch up with my boys and we even took Grumpy Boyfriend to Battersea Power Station for some food and shopping.

Sports Day & Beach Trip

After such a lovely weekend, it was hard to go back to school and work.

But, Stanley rocked at Sports Days and won two medals. So impressed! We are not really sporty in the Frenchie family, so it was just fabulous to see him having so much fun with his peers and actually winning a race or two!

He also made it to the beach on an annual school trip. I told you the life of a 7-year-old is not that difficile after all…

Even better, he passed all his SATS with flying colours! So contente as I spent a lot of time doing extra reading and writing with him over the weeks and the hard work clearly paid off.

Work & Home Life

The third week of July was still a rainy one but it did not stop us from having fun.

I made it to Hastings and it was great to see the old seaside town.

Grumpy Boyfriend also went out with some friends while Stanley was at Nanny S, so I had a weekend just to myself.

I caught up with Celebrity, a K drama about influencers I started watching. Have you ever heard of it or any other Korean TV shows? I don’t watch much Netflix, but once in a while, I love watching one of those.

Dreaming of an Asia tour one day with the boys! Plus, the acteurs always wear some of my fave French fashion brands and I love spotting some of the fashion pieces in the shows.

Summer Holidays

By then, the Summer Holidays officiellemment kicked in and the juggle as a freelancer started.

As I still had a lot of work, I booked for Stanley to go to a local French club and he absolutely LOVED it. I can’t believe I did not do it before!

Such a fab way to get childcare and he can speak some extra French too.

I also went to see Barbie the movie with some colleagues. Obviously, I was wearing my best pink dress!

Did you see it? What did you make of it? I usually LOVE Ryan Gosling but I am not sure I am a fan of him as Ken. Too orange in my opinion!

Getting Ready For My Birthday

The last week of July is always fun as it’s my birthday on the 1st of August.

I had some time off pour l’occasion and we had some great local days out.

We made it to Eastwell Manor for some lunch and even went for a walk in the country.

I previously found a new play area while cycling and I wanted Stanley to check it out.

New Instagram Project

And just like that, July 2023 was over.  Ultimately, we did not do much exciting. It was all about enjoying simple things and surviving in the rain.

But not to worry, we have a couple of adventures planned for the rest of August.

En plus, it is good to slow down sometimes. And it did not stop me from getting some new projets.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen that I am now sharing more reels, and I hope it will empower mamans to feel more confident and happy.

It’s taken a bit of time for me to review what I was doing there and plan what will be next.

I am not sure I made une bonne décision to start such a project in the summer when everyone probably switched off a bit from their phone and social channels.

July 2023 – Stop Waiting! Just Start!

But I know for a fact that if I don’t start something straight away when une idée comes up, it eventually never happens.

Mel Robbins famously says ‘Stop waiting! Just Start!’ and so did I. Like any new project, I will keep going at it.
