January 2025 – Establishing Great Habits For The Year Ahead

Bonjour lecteurs! Time to reflect on the the past month and share with you my first monthly highlights of 2025. January 2025 was all about establishing great habits and stick to them. After reflecting on what 2024 had been for us, I set myself 7 goals for 2025. My motto is to take small daily actions towards my dreams. It’s not about big changes, but atomic habits that overtime, will make la différence. I have it all covered to make sure that both my personal and professional are un succés. How was the start of 2025 for you? I hope it went well and that you are positif about it.

Sunny Seaside Break

After a busy Christmas in France with lots of food and wine, we made it back to the UK. I am not usually a big fan of the first days of the year. It’s always cold and miserable and I feel heavy after all the Xmas food.

But this year, we were lucky to stay at Rocksalt Folkestone and it was such a lovely break.

Even better, the sun was présent, so we made the most of it. Au programme, some lovely walks by the sea.

It was the best way to start January 2025. I love nothing more than exploring Kent and Folkestone is one of our favs here.

Back To School

As it was time to go back to school and routines after a long (and lovely!) Xmas, break, we just had one more treat at a local pub on the Sunday. It was so cosy and relaxing to eat out with my boys.

But it was time to get back to work and I was ready for it! Full of idées and plans, I got pitching and scheduling my work straightaway.

To be être honnête, it was also lovely to get back to my routines while he was back to l’école. J’adore starting the day with a good walk in the country. It gets me inspired for the day ahead. It was also good to be on my own, kids free etc. I am sure all the mamans out there will know the feelin.

2025 Habits

I was also quick to get back to routines with workouts at home and doing as much work as possible before picking him up from school at 3pm.

What team are you on? I am very much a morning person as I am more productive them. It’s sometimes hard to be able to concentrate and work with Stanley at home.

I always feel guilty if I ask him to entertain himself and get on with some work. I wish school finishes later like in France at 4.30pm or 5pm. But I still feel like I had a good schedule.

Getting as much work as possible while listening to Classic FM and then spending some time with him before a quick workout and cooking dinner etc.

So Much Work & Interview

I was totally on it! The start of the year is usually a quiet month workwise, but January 2025 has been super busy and I loved it! There is nothing better than having deadlines and working towards them. Plus, when you work freelance, you can quickly worry if your inbox remains empty!

Being proactive proved to make a huge différence and I did not stop!

Even better, I was interviewed for Le Petit Journal and it was so lovely to connect with fellow French people.

Stanley was on fire too! We had a very good parents’ evening and his teacher was très contente with his progress, so happy days!

Days were made of emails, work, lots of blog posts while listening to my fav podcasters, Mel Robbins or Happy Place with Fearne Cotton. Who do you like listening to?

And I also made the most of the sales with some new Sandro bits… Life has to be a mix of fun and work! By the way, the SS25 collection looks absolutely sublime!

London Weekend

And just like that, it was mid-January! I organised a full weekend in London the week before Stanley’s birthday and we had the best time ever! I am so glad I planned this little pre-celebrations!

We stayed at Nhow Hotel and we LOVED it. It was so much fun and welcoming as always. We had the most amazing fondue at The Montague Hotel near Russell Square.

While in London, we made it to Battersea Power Station to try some Indian food at Cinnamon Kitchen. We also stopped by for a bit of shopping and Stanley made the most of the play area. I think it’s one of his fav playgrounds in London.

The Transformers shop clearly made une grande impression, while I loved browsing the new Uniqlo collection...

On Sunday, we made it to Sticks’n’ Sushi in Islington before heading to the Royal Albert Hall and see the last Cirque du Soleil Show.

Corteo was absolutely GORGEOUS! I am usually not a fan of circus, but this was like nothing else I have ever seen! I really recommend it if you are looking for un show spécial in London. It was simply breathtaking!

Back To Reality

As always, Life has its own way to get you back to réalité… After such a beautiful weekend, we made it back home and everyone got ill!

It started with Grumpy Boyfriend and eventually, Stanley and I both caught it too 🙁 Such a bad timing as it was his birthday! I was feeling so weak, I could not do anything! It was very frustrating. I am not good at relaxing and taking it easy.

Plus, I had to cancel plans when I had meetings in London and I was supposed to go and see a friend in Folkestone.

I was totally off work for a week.

Taking It Easy

Eventually, I had to let it go and take it easy, not something I like doing… Je préfère to be in control. But it did not spoil too much the fun. Stanley still had a good birthday.

I got him the yummiest birthday cake ever! It might have been a few days later as he was sick on his actual birthday, but this chocolate cake from Paris Baguette totally made up for the lateness, non?

He also went to see the Lion King, the Musical and we had some fun at Savage Garden, enjoying some yummy food while making the most of the views. Regardez! It was incredible!

The last few days of January 2025 were all about recovering fully and preparing for next month. At school, it was all about the Tudors for him, and at home, it was all about catching up with emails and deadlines.

January 2025 – Establishing Great Habits For The Year Ahead

What a beautiful month! January 2025 was truly a  whirlwind! It was a true mix of emotions. We started it slowly, getting ready for the year ahead. Then, it reached its peak with a beautiful weekend in London, before crashing with illness the last 10 days or so.

But so is life! It’s filled with ups and downs and we have to deal with it…

A leçon importante I learned in January 2025? Sometimes, you have to let it go. What matters is that you get back on track as soon as you can. I won’t lie, I hated the idea of being ill. Feeling so weak physically, I could not do much. It was so annoying because I had made such a great progress with work and my workouts at the start of the month and I had to press ‘pause’.

Getting Back On Track

But we are now all back to normal and I started doing workouts again this week. I suffered for the first one, that’s for sure! My body was like ‘What the heck are you doing?!’ after not properly exercising for so long. But I am glad I am back at it. I think, sometimes, life throw stuff at you and you just give up with all the good intentions you had.

Well, not this time! I am going even more for it and I am determinée to make 2025 a year full of succés with many adventures, lots of exciting projects and more learning than ever! I am ready for it and not even the gloomy weather will put a shadow on my mind! Let’s do it!

What about you? How was January 2025? Do you have an exciting plans for the coming weeks? We don’t have a holiday booked yet, but I will make sure of it soon enough 🙂

Now off to relax with the new Miss Austen show on BBC. It’s just parfait to relax at home on a rainy weekend.

Bonne Chance with the year ahead! Looking forward to spring and some sunshine in Kent!
