Express Yourself

Sometimes, the best way to feel confident in ourselves is to express ourselves. That doesn’t mean you need to draw huge attention to yourself in order to accept who you are. But it’s nice to express yourself and who you are. Repeat after me: “This is me and I have nothing to hide.” By saying it louder, you turn it into a statement.

You can also express yourself with the clothes you wear. I’ve always expressed my personnalité thanks to my outfits. I strongly believe that your fashion style can show others who you are.

Do you fancy a funky look? Then follow this guide to rook piercings and see how such accessories can express who you are! C’est juste une suggestion bien sûr. What I am trying to say here is that you can express yourself through your style and you should always wears what makes you comfortable. No need to follow trends or try to be someone else.

Consider Your Posture

While I strongly feel that you should not have to change yourself in order to feel more body confident, I also think c’est important to care for your wellbeing.

Confidence starts in the mind but at the end of the day, people see what’s outside first when they meet you. So the way you present yourself says it all about your confidence.

Take your posture par exemple. Not only it shows we’re upright, alert and confident, but you can trick yourself into feeling more open when you assert yourself physically in that way. It’s a bit like the old adage ‘Fake it until you make it’. The more you behave this way, the more naturel it will be come.

Plus, a good posture helps you look better.  Your clothes fall more naturally and it will give you straight away some assertiveness. Try it next time you meet a loved one and I am sure they will notice la différence

Go For Walks

I know I repeat myself there but going for a morning walk makes such a difference to my mindset.

This might sound strange, but walking can give you a great amount of physical confidence. Not only is it’s the best cardio exercise to keep active and fit. But it also clears your mind. I always feel better and more productive when I go for a walk in the morning.

Even a short one for 15 min has such a huge impact. If I stay at home all day, I feel like a potato, spending all day in front of my laptop. My back is arched and I am fatiguée and cranky.

Walking in nature (with no headphones or distractions), even in your local park, can help you come back to yourself and feel much more confident, step after step after step. It also helps relaxing hugely. It’s just you, your surroundings and the next step, which has a wonderful restorative effect on what we deem important about ourselves.

Be Body-Positive With Others

Another good way to feel more body positive is to act the same with others around you. Let me ask you this question, how do you feel when a stranger gives you a compliment out of the blue? You feel great!

So go out there and share the love to others! The lady serving your coffee on the way to work wear some nice earrings? Tell her! Did you friend buy a new top in a different colour than their usual? Let them know if it works well with her carnation! Make others smile.

Equally, accept their weaknesses. As what we accept in others, we tend to accept in ourselves. If you don’t dismiss others for putting weight on, you won’t do the same for yourself. If your hair is thinning, you won’t be dismissive of other people who have gone through that.

Dismiss those little judgements. They have a negative impact on your mind. Look for the bright side in everyone and speak out to others about all their good stuff.

Accept Yourself Now

The key to happiness is to know yourself and the values you want to live by. So it goes without saying that feeling body confident is also to learn to accept yourself now

At the end of the day, your body is your temple and it is what keep you alive right now. So instead of hating it, celebrate all the good things from it.

I am always so grateful that my body grew a baby and that I gave birth to my son. When you think about it, it’s pretty amazing! Our body is such a complex and beautiful machine! It is strong and repairs itself so well too. Cutting your finger? It will heal in a few days. We are complex creatures and this is the beauty of being humans. So instead of hating our body, accept yourself! A cliché maybe but your stretchmarks are the proof that you gave birth and that’s magical!

Forget the media and all the super fit people we see on TV. They are only a tiny fraction of la population. Plus, there is a lot of fakery too, hence they all look beautiful and glamourous. I would do too if I had make up artists, hairdressers and so on to look after me and endless filters… The press and TV are selling you a fake dream. So instead of comparing yourself to those people, accept who you are and love yourself.

With those simple advises, I hope you can feel more body confident day to day, without without the need to be perfect. Nobody is really…
