Our Weekend at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel

Bonjour lecteurs! As 2019 was coming to an end, we decided to book a little weekend away before going back to work. We were going to look for something in the country like Norfolk, but we eventually settled for a fabulous hotel in the heart of London. It was l’ocassion parfaite to rediscover South West London…and go shopping on the fameuse King’s Road too!

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel is in a great location in London.

Indeed, easily accessible to the city centre, l’hôtel overlooks the stunning Chelsea Harbour.

And as one of the Top 100 Hotels in London, you get an all-suite, stylish room that gives your family a lot of space with a gorgeous view on the marina.

Let’s say it, it is pretty much an oasis of calm in the urban jungle!

I particularly loved working while enjoying the view of the harbour.

Our room was comfy  & generously sized with a mini corridor for even more space.

We really liked it, especially as Baba had his own space.

We spent quite a bit in the lounge area as a family watching (way too much!) TV.

The decor was overall a bit dated, but the large space made up for it.

The bathroom was lovely with all the needed features.

Breakfast & More

Each morning, we would go down to get some breakfast and Baba got spoiled again.

With a selection of pastries, fruits and cooked breakfast, we had plenty of choices.

A shame that you had to pay extra for special dishes like Eggs Royale on the menu. As a luxury hotel, I would expect that it was included.

But we still made the most of it as well as the bar’s hotel.

If you stay there, you must stop to get a drink while enjoying the calm of the harbour.

We also enjoyed the spa. The swimming pool is quite small but we had plenty of fun!

Battersea Park

As we were not far, we decided to head off to Battersea Park. I forgot how big it was!

Parks are always magical places and this one is particularly beautiful with the subtropical garden.

No need to say that we stayed a bit at the playground! We spent a couple of hours trying all the free rides.

And there is something for all ages!

It was definitely Baba’s favourite part. But I personally enjoyed sitting by the lake and soak up the sun in such a peaceful place.

The walk by the river is also a must-do if you are in South West London. Take a break and enjoy the view of the city…

Or dream of living in one of those Victorian houses…

A Lovely Weekend at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel

As soon as we booked our room, I made huge plans for us to see and explore many kid-friendly attractions such as the Chelsea Physic Garden or the Saatchi Gallery… Well, it didn’t happen ?

We relaxed within the facilities of the hotel & went for walks in the swanky Chelsea instead.

I also went shopping and we just took it easy most of the time. A lovely weekend at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel with my boys!

Seems like you had a nice time. It can be really worthwhile having a short break, hotel stay, etc.

It does seem that many hotels are in need of redecorating, upgrading / updating furniture, etc. Possibly Economic situation / austerity/ concerns regarding Brexit / uncertainty, are aspects which have impacted on Businesses and Business people’s behaviour/ Prioorities, etc.

Luxury :- Yes, a little bit of luxury can be ‘a real treat ‘, and by receiving a ‘bonus ‘ , ‘added extra ‘ :- We tend to feel ‘Good ‘. Probably a burst of endorphins (feel good hormones) = Good Thoughts + Good Feelings. Happiness, Good Memories, and would like to repeat sometime. So likely to make a return visit, and likely to share good memories with loved ones (family and friends). Thus the establishment which kindly treated you well :- Good Reputation, and likely to increase. ” It is Nice to be Nice “.

Park looks wonderful in the photos.

If you’re looking for somewhere to visit in Kent, we often take our granddaughter to Xmas Tree farm, which has many animals you can feed. In the spring there are lots of lambs and baby goats, and they are out of the fields, so you can pet them.

  31. Tracey Hallmark says:

It’s a shame that the hotel asks guests to pay extra for special dishes like Eggs Royale. However, there is such a lot of food waste in hotels that perhaps the policy is a way of reducing it?

Lovely view near that hotel! Very appealing!

  72. Theresa M says:

The exterior seems to have a bit of a 30’s deco vibe to it, but I think you’re right the interior does look a bit more dated than retro still if Baba liked it then dated obiously works! :0)
