Those are the gems that are worth a visit in this iconic British destination. Now the only question left to answer will be ‘Which option will you go for?’
Bude
The best way to visit Cornwall with the little ones is to rent a house or villa so that you have a base and you can easily explore the peninsula. Whatever you need for your tribe, there are many family-friendly self-catering cottages in Cornwall. Once you’ve got your pied-à-terre, start with Bude.

I had to include this in my Cornwall Best Family Holiday Hotspots guide, because we have so many fond memories from there. It’s such a classic resort town on the coast with lots of charming boutiques. Just have a stroll in the town, get yourself an ice cream and head back to the seaside for a fun day of adventures with the little ones.
Bude is definitely an excellent family-friendly destination. It’s the easiest family day out. Beach lovers will be in heaven with a wide choice of beaches: Summerleaze (it features a sea pool), Crooklets, and Sandymouth for surfing and rock-pooling.
If you fancy learning more about the local area, you can even stop by places like the Bude Canal and The Castle. Play mini-golf or check out one of the nearby adventure parks like The Milky Way and The Big Sheep.
Perranporth
Cornwall lovers recommend Perranporth with its many family-friendly attractions. Perranporth Beach remains a favourite for tourists with a big sandy beach, idéal for sandcastles, swimming. En plus, the tide is low, so it’s l’environnement idéal with toddlers to play safely by the water.
I also suggest the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. It’s a short drive away from town, and it’s such a cute place with little ones. Go on a train ride, play mini-golf or have fun on the lake. Whatever you go for, it’s the perfect day out guaranteed with children. There is even a soft play area, so that you can rest with a drink.

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is also a good spot. You can go on farm tours and tractor rides just outside the town.
St Ives
St Ives remains the Cornwall jewel. Personnellement, I love its vibes. It reminds me quite a bit of Margate.

This might be your place if you want to go surfing, but also a hotspot for art lovers. Indeed, the seafront Tate St Ives gallery features modern art exhibitions, with a beautiful collection of British art. If you like The Tate Modern, you will fall in love with this location.
Nearby, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are also worth a visit, which displays her bronzes and other works. Finish the day with a boat trip go to Seal Island, just west of town, to see the seal colony, et voilà!
Falmouth
Now, this is definitely the most charming town in Cornwall. It’s definitely worth stopping the harbour in Falmouth. It’s truly a stunning scenery, and it has a long maritime history, a bit like Chatham in Kent.

Spend the day, exploring the local maritime history at the National Maritime Museum, touring the Tudor Pendennis Castle, strolling beaches like Gyllyngvase or Swanpool, before taking a ferry to St Mawes. Now, that’s something très différent to do with kids.
It’s also a beautiful location if you like water sports.
Newquay
No wonder why Newquay is one of the most iconic locations in Cornwall. It’s a paradis for beach lovers. Did you know? It’s actually the UK number one destination for surfing.

But fear not, if it is not your thing. You can also go kayaking and paddleboarding. It’s quite fun with kids. If you prefer hiking, put your boots on and try the South West Coast Path to enjoy breath taking cliff views and coastal scenery.
It’s quite an experience! Have you ever tried it?
