Bonjour lecteurs! As 2019 was coming to an end, we decided to book a little weekend away before going back to work. We were going to look for something in the country like Norfolk, but we eventually settled for a fabulous hotel in the heart of London. It was l’ocassion parfaite to rediscover South West London…and go shopping on the fameuse King’s Road too!
The Chelsea Harbour Hotel
The Chelsea Harbour Hotel is in a great location in London.
Indeed, easily accessible to the city centre, l’hôtel overlooks the stunning Chelsea Harbour.
And as one of the Top 100 Hotels in London, you get an all-suite, stylish room that gives your family a lot of space with a gorgeous view on the marina.
Let’s say it, it is pretty much an oasis of calm in the urban jungle!
I particularly loved working while enjoying the view of the harbour.
Our room was comfy & generously sized with a mini corridor for even more space.
We really liked it, especially as Baba had his own space.
We spent quite a bit in the lounge area as a family watching (way too much!) TV.
The decor was overall a bit dated, but the large space made up for it.
The bathroom was lovely with all the needed features.
Breakfast & More
Each morning, we would go down to get some breakfast and Baba got spoiled again.
With a selection of pastries, fruits and cooked breakfast, we had plenty of choices.
A shame that you had to pay extra for special dishes like Eggs Royale on the menu. As a luxury hotel, I would expect that it was included.
But we still made the most of it as well as the bar’s hotel.
If you stay there, you must stop to get a drink while enjoying the calm of the harbour.
We also enjoyed the spa. The swimming pool is quite small but we had plenty of fun!
Battersea Park
As we were not far, we decided to head off to Battersea Park. I forgot how big it was!
Parks are always magical places and this one is particularly beautiful with the subtropical garden.
No need to say that we stayed a bit at the playground! We spent a couple of hours trying all the free rides.
And there is something for all ages!
It was definitely Baba’s favourite part. But I personally enjoyed sitting by the lake and soak up the sun in such a peaceful place.
The walk by the river is also a must-do if you are in South West London. Take a break and enjoy the view of the city…
Or dream of living in one of those Victorian houses…
A Lovely Weekend at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel
As soon as we booked our room, I made huge plans for us to see and explore many kid-friendly attractions such as the Chelsea Physic Garden or the Saatchi Gallery… Well, it didn’t happen ?
We relaxed within the facilities of the hotel & went for walks in the swanky Chelsea instead.
I also went shopping and we just took it easy most of the time. A lovely weekend at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel with my boys!
We were very sad to go back home for the NYE, but it was a nice break before going back to work!
What did you do during the last week of the year? Any family activity you suggest in Kent or London?
Wishing you a very Happy New Year! Merci for reading as always!
It sounds like a lovely stay
It looks like a nice hotel
It looks so lovely 🙂
Seems like you had a nice time. It can be really worthwhile having a short break, hotel stay, etc.
It does seem that many hotels are in need of redecorating, upgrading / updating furniture, etc. Possibly Economic situation / austerity/ concerns regarding Brexit / uncertainty, are aspects which have impacted on Businesses and Business people’s behaviour/ Prioorities, etc.
Luxury :- Yes, a little bit of luxury can be ‘a real treat ‘, and by receiving a ‘bonus ‘ , ‘added extra ‘ :- We tend to feel ‘Good ‘. Probably a burst of endorphins (feel good hormones) = Good Thoughts + Good Feelings. Happiness, Good Memories, and would like to repeat sometime. So likely to make a return visit, and likely to share good memories with loved ones (family and friends). Thus the establishment which kindly treated you well :- Good Reputation, and likely to increase. ” It is Nice to be Nice “.
Park looks wonderful in the photos.

Yes, I agree, the main thing is the location really. We still had a lovely time but I would love to check out other places in Chelsea 🙂
Unfortunately I work in retail so work over all of christmas and new year however I have a weekend break next week and this has given me some inspiration to et somewhere booked! Short breaks are just what we need sometimes! Especially after a hectic Christmas!
It looks fantastic here , we visited the Shard on the 30th for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed drinking champagne and watching the sun set!
Ooh, how lovely. I wandered around there a while ago and thought it was very peaceful and pretty.

I’d never heard of this hotel, but it sounds like you had a nice stay.
If you’re looking for somewhere to visit in Kent, we often take our granddaughter to Xmas Tree farm, which has many animals you can feed. In the spring there are lots of lambs and baby goats, and they are out of the fields, so you can pet them.
Love this hotel it looks fabulous and the room sizes are great all too often in London I find I can hardly walk around the bed making anything more than a 1 night stay uncomfortable thanks for sharing
Looks fab for our eldest, his wife and 2 children, our grandchildren. Might look at a cheeky break there myself too

It looks like you had a lovely time. The space looks great, that’s important with kids.
This sounds like a lovely day out! lovely hotel too!
What a fabulous location. It looks like you had a great time
It’s a shame that the hotel asks guests to pay extra for special dishes like Eggs Royale. However, there is such a lot of food waste in hotels that perhaps the policy is a way of reducing it?
It looks like you had a great time!
This looks like a great day out! Thanks for the article.

Wow! How the other half live! Actually, I take that back – I don’ t know how ANYONE can afford to live in London nowadays. It’s not just housing but the cost of living too. Move further than the burbs if needs be, folks!
I would love to stay there as the harbour is a wonderful location
Hotel looks lovely looks like your son enjoyed himself too. The photos look great 🙂
What a lovely place. I hope you really enjoyed your stay. Really enjoyed reading your blog.
Lovely view near that hotel! Very appealing!
The exterior seems to have a bit of a 30’s deco vibe to it, but I think you’re right the interior does look a bit more dated than retro still if Baba liked it then dated obiously works! :0)
Looks lovely and like the fact the hotel overlooks the Marina and is close to a good park sounds great!
We didn’t do much during the last week of the year because both my boys were porley. I love the views and location of the hotel. Looks incredible.
