Bonjour lecteurs! How are we all feeling? Winter is creeping up and bad news keep coming up. I don’t know about you but somehow, I want 2022 to be over 😆 Well, not quite, I still feel like I have time to change my game and my luck will come. Half-term is not over for us (we have 2 weeks off!). I am half as productive as I would like to be and it’s frustrating… Rant over! October 2022 was not that bad now that I reflect upon it in my Monthly Highlights.
Embracing Autumn
The start of October 2022 was all about embracing Autumn, and its colours. Plus whatever Nature has to offer around this time of the year.
We made it to a local cider festival at the beautiful Woolton Farm.
But also some beautiful walks and bike rides in the country. The weather was beautiful, good smells were in the air.
It was just happy and unconscious.
Simple things like that made me feel alive again after a painful summer. We enjoyed Stanley’s Harvest Festival at school and so much more.
Amen to living in the country!
London Fun Too
You got the picture?
Add up a fun day out in London where I got to catch up with a dear friend of mine.
And life was good, enjoying Afternoon Tea at the beautiful Rubens.
Walking around Victoria, I stumbled across an exact spot I stopped by in my mid-twenties.
It made me realise how far I have come and all the good stuff I have achieved over the last 15 years. Plus, all the mistakes I made along the way. But they were good lessons learned.
Nostalgia is a weird feeling…
Back To Réalité
But time to get back to réalité!
October 2022 carried on with a good Parents Evening for Stanley.
And a bit of shopping at the Ashford Designer Outlet. I am always a sucker for some Frenchie fashion at Sandro.
Or even some of my fave like Uniqlo. What do you think of my new jacket from there?
I immediately fell in love with its couleur.
Pumpkin Patch
And just like that, it was our annual trip to a local pumpkin patch.
Once more, a fun adventure where we picked up a couple of citrouilles 🎃
And more adventures in Kent on my bike.
Karma & Silver Lining
A shame those days seem to be over! Oui, my bike got stolen and it was the perfect start to half-term.
Not joking, I can’t even believe someone would even bother with my old bike. It was falling apart from everywhere. We had so many adventures together.
I started feeling more unsafe than ever. Sometimes, your mind can be a real monstre…
But there is a silver lining to everything in life. I got a scan and they did not find anything worrying.
After months of waiting and making all sorts of worrying scenarios, it was a relief. I will take that! Having said that, I could also do with my bike back, right? 😆
Shangri-La & Battersea Power Station
But a busy bee has no time for sorrow and life had to carry on. Because it was half-term! Well, it still is as Stanley will only go back to l’école next week…
And what a good one. We attended a fab party at the stunning Shangri-La in London for the luxury wooden toys maker Plaay.
Such a treat to start half-term. Have you ever been? It’s absolutely sublime.
En plus, to finish the day, we even stopped by the brand-new Battersea Power Station. It’s absolutely gorgeous!
A day out in London is always a good way to cheer up 😊
Country Break at Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa
Right now, life is way quieter (and less exciting, LOL). It’s more like park days and rides on our scooters.
Still good!
And to finish October 2022 en beauté, we also stayed at the beautiful Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa.
Now, if you fancy a luxurious stay in a country hotel, this is for you! Read my full review here.
Such a nice way to relax and unwind.
October 2022 – Karma & Silver Lining
Et voilà ! Like that, October 2022 was over, and Halloween with it!
And next thing you know, everyone will be talking about Christmas. After such a succés with my last competition with L’Occitane en Provence on Instagram, I will publish soon our big Xmas Giveaways on the blog!
Last month has been a real mixed bag. All you can see here are lovely moments, some fabulous, some more simple.
But there have been many tears too. I don’t have any pictures, because quite frankly, who snaps a shot in moments like that?
I am a strong believer in karma and I do hope that whoever stole my bike will get punished.
Truth is, this event has shaken some deeper feelings of unsafety. And on top of it all, I have just been told that my nan’s days are counted and she will go soon.
 The Universe & Us
I am a strong believer that in life, you get what you deserve. It depends on how you show up in the universe.
Whatever you give out there, you get back.
So even if I am trying to move forward and always be as resilient as possible…I can’t stop but think: ‘What have I done to deserve this?!’.
My bad luck is a never-ending story at the minute. And sometimes, it is a bit exhausting. Plus, you kind of start questioning yourself about what is wrong with you.
But I look around and I see the same disbelief. People are down. Inflation is going up, taxes are rising up…
Every day, we wake up to more bad news. So I count my blessings. There is nothing else to do.
What have you been up to for Halloween?
How do you feel about life lately?
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! This a post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures and rock those dreams of yours, always 😘
I am so glad that Autumn has been better for you!
Some great photos and good times with Stanley, making happy memories, that is what life is all about, quality time with our kids.
