Bonjour lecteurs! My monthly highlights are late (encore!). Oh well, I am sure it does not really matter. The truth is I really enjoyed a break over the Christmas holidays. And once it was time to get back into routines, it took me a little bit to do it all. But we are now back on track (and exercising more s’il-vous-plaît!), so let’s share our memories from December 2019! I hope you had a good start in 2020 and I look forward to your comments!
A Slow Start
December 2019 started slowly with many days at home. Indeed, if you read what happened in November, you would have remembered that Baba got very sick.
He was still on the mend the first week. But it got better soon enough and we had many days out in London.
Days Out In London
For once, Grumpy Boyfriend came up with me. He had many meetings or Christmas parties in town, so I had a companion for my journey on the train.
And a photographer too while at the sumptuous Saint Pancras Station!
Another time, we attended the baby shower of my friend Aly as a family.
And let me tell you that Baba made the most of the cake…
Celebrating a new life to come is always magical and I might have felt a bit broody too…
Royal Albert Hall & Caxton Grill
But we did not stop here! As you remember, we started the Christmas festivities back in November with a preview of the Snowman.
Well, we carried on with a gorgeous time at the Christmas Orchestral Adventure at the Royal Albert Hall. I wrote a full post on this. It was such a magical moment!
I am even thinking to turn it into a new tradition. The spectacle was grandiose!
And we finished the day en beauté with some lovely dinner at the Caxton Grill.
We love the St Ermin’s Hotel in the heart of London. It was truly beautiful too with its Christmas trees.
A Romantic Night
The weekend after, it was time for Grumpy Boyfriend and me to have a romantic night in town!
Monsieur Grumpy treated me to a stay at the beautiful Rubens At The Palace.
After a fantastic dinner at the Ivy Victoria, he took me to see Amelie the Musical!
I must say that my man knows me well! I had a lovely evening!
If you liked the movie by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, you will fall in love with the show! I promise!
The Week Before Christmas
We eventually slowed down the week before Christmas.
We took some time to relax at home or see family and friends.
Everyone wanted to see Baba for the occasion so we enjoyed some pub lunches and visited Grumpy Boyfriend’s family.
The little one was spoiled. En plus, it was well handy to have a Vauxhall Crossland X SUV to test! Mon homme had a blast driving it, while I tested my colour matching skills with my wardrobe ?
Christmas!
Noël was full of presents and fun! We hosted both on the 24th and 25th and despite all the work involved, we had a lovely time.
Baba got spoiled rotten…
Alright, me too! I got a new Kate Spade bag so I am super happy!
And I watched so many movies! The Bridget Jones trilogy was au programme as well as Love Actually! I know, it is a big dose of Colin Firth. But he is ever so charming… ??
A Short Escape In Chelsea
Once it was all done, we drove to Chelsea for a long weekend at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel.
More memories were made. We had a lovely day out in Battersea Park and I went shopping.
London, you will always be deep down in my heart…?
But it was time to go home just before the new year and we watched the London fireworks online with a bottle of prosecco.
December 2019 – London & Christmas
Wow! What a month! December 2019 was full of days out and magical moments with my boys.
I really enjoyed our Christmas break even if it was un peu weird to watch so much TV! We never really do so.
December 2019 again showed me that switching off is necessary. I feel totally refreshed and ready to rock 2020 now!
To another decade!
As always, a huge merci for reading my monthly highlights!
I hope you had a great start to 2020! What has the new year been like for you so far?
Disclosure: This post may feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a summary list of the month! And a post for me to reflect and cherish!
