Bonjour lecteurs! Have you ever been to Wales? I made it to la région 8 years ago to celebrate New Year’s Eve. But since then, not really. So we stopped by the beautiful Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club in Chepstow at the start of the month for a festive stay and it did not disappoint. Not only did we discover a new area, but it was one of the most family-friendly places we got to stay.
Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club
What type of hotels do you usually visit with your famille?
I love nothing more than something chic in the country and the Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club is just parfait!
Among 400 acres of picturesque land, the spa hotel features the original 14th century manor as well as une sélection of cottages and suites in the courtyard.
Fancy a luxury stay in the Welsh countryside? This is your spot where you can relax in a luxurious setting.
Our Arrival
We arrived at the Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club in the evening after a 4-hour drive, so we were eager to relax.
After following the route via the golf course among the trees, we arrived at the historique building illuminated with Christmas lights.
It was magical! I can’t even imagine what the place would look like in the snow!
Once inside to check in, we were greeted with some hot chocolate and mulled wine to warm up.
A great start! Stanley certainly enjoyed his chocolat chaud while looking at the giant real gingerbread house.
We also received a welcome pack with all the local attractions to see with the kids, which was so nice!
L’Atmosphère
The hotel is a mix of original features and more touches modernes added over the years.
While the golf club and the spa and gym are more recent, we certainly loved the original building.
Un peu d’histoire! The oldest parts of the hotel were a private home back in the 16th century and the church itself dates back from 1065.
We absolutely LOVED the original touches such as the Panel Room where you can get dinner at the restaurant.
Or even the big window looking over the park.
The courtyard with all the suites was so beautiful too and everything that you would expect from a country club hotel.
It’s chic, and luxurious but also warm and welcoming. Sit by the fire, get a glass of wine, and enjoy the décor of the main hallway.
Our Family Suite
We were very lucky to get one of the cottages in the main courtyard. It reminded me so much of Eastwell Manor in Kent.
And quelle surprise! We had a full zoo waiting for Stanley!
Have you ever seen so many decorations made of towels? That was simply incredible.
But this was only the start as the main bedroom was behind, with an ensuite.
Overall, our room was très spacieuse with the living area transformed into a bedroom with a sofa bed for Stanley and a super king-sized bed for us!
We even had 2 en-suites and our own little Xmas tree.
Dinner at the Restaurant
Because we arrived late in the evening, we did not explore much the first night and decided to have dinner at Cast Iron Restaurant.
As I previously said, you get to enjoy some food in the Panel Room. Pour le dîner, I had some hummus followed by the halloumi burger.
We also ordered some vegetables on the side while Stanley enjoyed his préféré, a margarita pizza.
He also helped me finish some brownies for dessert.
It was a lovely meal and the service était excellent. I would easily imagine that the Cast Iron Restaurant is a hot spot in the area for its great food in such beautiful settings.
The huge Christmas tree in the corner right by our table completed so well the whole experience.
Spa Facilities
The Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club seems to be a very popular golf club dans la région.
We saw many families stopping by while les papas were playing gold. Stanley made some friends in the pool.
The spa facilities are really big and proved to be very handy on a rainy day.
I also had a back massage. It was parfait and you can even stop by the relaxation room if you want a bit of peace.
Or hit the gym if you fancy!
There are many machines and you can also join the gym with a personal trainer.
Le Petit-Déjeuner
Both mornings were another succés with le petit-déjeuner. I mean look at this variété of food!
Whatever you prefer, sweet or savory, you will leave the hotel full.
Stanley was in his element with the muffins.
You can even order some cooked breakfast if you fancy so I got a fresh omelette and c’était délicieux!
Visiting Chepstow
And because we are so rarely in Wales, we stopped by Chepstow despite the rain.
The old town is charming and we stopped at a local Christmas market. We even saw a choir playing Christmas songs so the magic of Christmas was truly on!
Fancy more une visite historique? Then stop by Chepstow Castle and Tintern Abbey. There is even a brewery if dads fancy a fresh local ale!
Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club- Le Verdict
Does the Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club offer a complete package for families? Oui, oui, oui!!
I am so glad we made it to South Wales!
It was such a beautiful place and the hotel is certainly family-friendly!
From the Christmas décor to the towel decorations and even the food selection and the pool, there is everything for you to love this place.
One of my followers mentioned the Delta Hotels by Marriott St Pierre Country Club a few months ago and said it was a lovely spot in the area.
I could not agree more. We all had a very relaxing time and it felt very luxurious to stay in such a beautiful location.
Plus all the staff were so friendly and the service was great.
We will have to come back! Next time, we are hoping to make it to Wales in the summer so that we can explore all the beauties the area has to offer!

This is a dog friendly hotel too I would say! Plus, there is a lot of land to walk and explore.
Looks an amazing festive (or anytime) break
Wow! What a beautiful hotel inside and out. It looks so grand. And I love the towels folded up like animals, very Thailand vibe there. I love any hotel that has an indoor pool to help get through those rainy cold days. I’ve yet to go to a foodie hotel but this one does sound amazing. Me and my friend were talking about how much we love halloumi the other day. Could do with a halloumi burger myself
Looks so luxurious, I wish I could fold my towels into animals!
Total luxury in such an amazing place – would love to visit too ! Esquisite
Me and my wife stayed here about 15 years ago, great hotel.
