We currently have carpet all over the house, but we would love to install some flooring next year.
Why not go for some hardwood flooring? The dried winter months are parfaits to make that change. Indeed, the dry air helps prevent gapping. Plus, this kind of flooring is so much simpler to clean too and nowadays, brands offer such une grande variété of shades and materials.
Fancy a bit of an upgrade with une touche luxueuse? Look at heated floors. We récemment stayed in un hôtel in London with it and it was pure heaven to wake up in the morning and walk around a warm floor.
Boiler & Pipes
As the colder months are ahead of us, now is the time to service you boiler and potentially refit your pipes. You want to avoid some bad surprises at all cost.
We had no heating nor hot water for a week last year and it was hell on earth. So make the call now for your local plumbing force plumbers. It might save your Christmas!
And if you have some sérieux problèmes with your boiler, consider upgrading it to a new one. We got a Worcester Bosch combi-boiler installed in September and it’s been so lovely and quick to heat the house up.

Do you currently use your attic to store things? Ours a big empty space. We could turn it into extra living space, but it would be quite a budget.
So instead, we might be looking at adding insulation. It’s actually best to make that change before the winter comes. But you can still do it now and it will help your house keep warmer.

New Paint & Wallpaper
Nothing is easier than painting a couple of rooms or change your wallpapers in the house.
We’ve been in our home for over 6 years and we have not made any changes yet on this side. We were lucky to buy a new build house with quite un décor neutre and it always worked well for us.
However, we might be upgrading Stanley’s bedroom to make it a bit more grown up.
