Bonjour lecteurs! A home is un project constant, especially when you have a house. There is always some work to do and updates to take on if you want it to be a light and pleasant environment for all the family. As homeowners ourselves, we’ve recently done some updates to our house. It does not have to be des changements compliqués. Sometimes, small improvements can make such une différence. So are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work? Transform now your property with my 4 simple ways to make your home look more aesthetic.
Update the Living Room
Our living-room or salon in Frenchie is probablement my favourite room. It’s where we spend a lot of time as a family. So let’s start there so that you can put your feet up and relax in style!
Plus, your guests will certainly be impressed with your new touches. What would you add or change? I would love to have a fireplace, but we would need a chimney sweep beforehand to make sure it is safe.
Just this détail gives such a cosy and welcoming atmosphère. Simply add some colourful rugs and plants to light up the space et voilà! Do you want une touche personnnelle? Add up a cozy custom blanket in the mix. Personalised items really give the room a more homey feel.
Another simple way to upgrade your living-room is to add some frameworks or new paintings. I added some French pieces over the years and j’adore! It feels like I am home, even if I am right in the heart of Kent!
Clean & Declutter
When you keep your home tidy it makes such a difference with the overall ambience. Idéalement, put a cleaning schedule in place and tackle each room one by one so that your home feels fresh.
Get the entire family involved! We usually do our big cleaning on a Friday evening so that we can relax le weekend. And there is not a better feeling than sitting on the sofa with a good glass of wine and un bon film in a clean and fresh house.
I also try to do a weekly reset when I tidy up specific areas or I just put away toys etc.
We also do a deep clean each season, especially with my wardrobe and I try to declutter as much as possible. Thanks to Vinted, I got rid of so many things we don’t need or use anymore!
Plus, this also makes more room for storing or displaying the items I actually use and I feel less stressed when my home has been decluttered.
Improve Your Entrance
First impressions tend to stick, so you want to get it right. It’s a chance to set the right tone and mood for the rest of the house. Therefore, you can make your home more beautiful and functional by improving the entryway.
Hang up a mirror or two to add some extra light, display fresh flowers on a small table… Or par exemple, have a nice rug for shoes so that it feels homy but also tidy.
I also love to have scented plug-in air fresheners. At the minute, we are travelling to Barbados thanks to this.
Dress Up The Windows
What do you currently have to decorate your windows? We have some white blinds as we wanted to keep as much light as possible in the rooms.
It also helps regulate the temperature, especially when it gets hot. We really need to change this option though as they now look dated.
If you dress up your windows by hanging up some curtains, it can really add some elegance to your rooms. Plus I would not say non to a pop of couleurs either!
Hang up your curtains high to make your property look more luxurious. Effet WOW garanti!
Et voilà my 4 effective, yet simple ways to make your home look more aesthetic without breaking the bank.
Enjoy your family space in the summer with those petites touches that are so easy to do. And just for the fun, a pic of our home with the best addition to the family, our new bunny Daisy…
