Create a tidy and peaceful sleeping area

I don’t know about you but having a messy space can really stress me out. And if I am agitated and worried, there is no way I would easily fall asleep.

A terrible sleeping area could cause your sleepless nights. Equally, too much light coming in from the windows doesn’t help either. Grumpy Boyfriends hates it if the room gets light early in the morning.

So first thing first, ensure you are keeping things tidy and blocking out as much light as possible.

Blackout blinds make une bonne option or even a silk eye mask can stop daylight interrupting your sleep.

Try sleep supplements

Natural health supplements will also help you feel more relaxed as you get ready for bed.

You can try some supplements or even use sleep sprays and lotions. Both work really well, but CBD oil is a very popular option at the moment. You need a couple of drops under your tongue before bed and it interacts with your internal system to encourage sleepiness.

Personnellement, I invested in a lavender sleeping pillow spray and it’s so relaxing to go to bed! The Sleep Doctor says that lavender-scented things and products using lavender oil is a great help to improve sleep quality. It’s all to do with the herbal aromas that work on your body and lower anxiety and stress. Have you tried it before?

Follow a bedtime routine

I recently listened to an episode of the Mel Robbins podcast on the topic of good sleep and her guest also mentioned l’importance of a good bed time routine to fall easily asleep.

Why not? After all, parents establish a bedtime routine as early as possible with their children, so it does makes sense! Having a routine can train your body to get ready for sleep every night.

According to The Sleep Foundation, your brain will naturally feel tired around the same time every night when you follow a routine. You should have less difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep.

Aim to go to bed around the same time and wake up at the same time too. I usually to go to bed before 10pm and have my own ritual.

As soon as I am in my bedroom, I put my phone on airplane mode so I don’t get distracted. I don’t want to be tempted to check out my Instagram or my Vinted. Many studies proved that blue light from your phone unregulate your sleep. I usually read a book for 20 minutes before I drift off, sometimes with my book still open, which make Grumpy Boyfriend smiles…

Et voilà! I am in la la land…
