Bonjour lecteurs! Passionate about food and dining out? Or always on the lookout for some fab places to eat in the capital? We recently had a Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel with Bookatable and it was lovely! Have a look at my stories on Instagram for more videos if you fancy, but here is our special expérience en photos just for you!
Feast On London Menus with Bookatable
Have you ever used Bookatable? This platform offers you the possibilité to book a good table and more! Grumpy Boyfriend actually has the app on his phone and we used it all the time when we were living in London.
En plus, the fab website has a great Feast on London Menus with some good deals for you to dine out!
As Grumpy Boyfriend is not much of a romantic (I still love him, don’t worry…), I decided to have a date with a friend of mine and mon homme préféré, Baba!
Let’s Go for An Afternoon Tea!
As my little boy loves nothing more than a good tea party, we went for a very famous option. If you look online for good afternoon teas, no doubt you would have come across the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel!
Parfait as Baba really likes Alice in Wonderland!
I had a look at the full menus on Bookatable and I was very torn. This one or the magic Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel? Since our weekend in the area for Grumpy Boyfriend’s birthday, I am a bit obsessed with this place that looks like Mary Poppins. But it will be for another time!
Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel
We went for the cocktail version. With our fabulous deal on Bookatable, it was only £40 per person (please note that there is also a 15% charge service).
Who doesn’t love some treat with a discount? Made of savoury and sweet little delicacies, the whole thing was rather pretty! Indeed, Baba was truly amazed by it as soon as it landed on our table.
For a little one like Baba, the Alice in Wonderland theme is simply magical! Actually, grown-ups like moi can enjoy it too! It is truly like being in the book. Even the little details on the cutlery are as per the theme.
My favourite treat had to be the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon while Baba really enjoyed some Alice’s exotic fruits “Drink Me” potion.
And with a cocktail in my hands, I was set to heavens!
The Sanderson Hotel
And l’atmosphère will you ask? The Sanderson Hotel has a lovely indoor Japanese garden. It felt very peaceful and this bit of green in the middle of the arty interior is totally lovely.
It is the total opposite of the tea’s theme, but it works! You can enjoy some yummy food while feeling relaxed. En plus, the staff was lovely. Baba was allowed to play in the garden. It was secure so that I could enjoy myself and catch up with my friend while he had some fun with the local pigeons. He also redecorated the green space 🙂
Le Verdict
Booking a Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at the Sanderson Hotel was such a great idea! This is a very unique experience in the centre of London. We loved the theme as well as the food.
We were really full after a lovely relaxing time amongst some beautiful space in the modern jungle that London is.
The outdoor space was heated and the staff was eager to help.
Another thing I like about this experience? Baba could move around at ease without disturbing other guests. Indeed, the restaurant is spacious and each table is set up so that you can have your privacy with your family and friends.
We had a lovely time! And such a great offer too with the fabulous deal on Bookatable! That was a Wonderfeast for sure!
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post in collaboration with Bookatable. All opinions are my own.

The food looks so yummy, will have to visit there one day.
this looks like a lovely place to have afternoon tea.
Wow this looks amazing, the food looks nearly too good to eat.
Looks lovely! i love a good themed afternoon tea too!
Afternoon tea, always a delicious treat. A themed Afternoon Tea :- Seems Wonderful. Though Service Charge /s should be included.
Everything has a price. But treats can be well deserved, and rare / infrequent. Therefore important that there are no added charges of any sort. Price should be total / all inclusive price. As many are on limited budgets.
This looks so tasty
How lovely, that afternoon tea looks so pretty, I love the Japanese garden too.
This looks damn amazing!! Xx
Wow the cakes look fab I love brownies that is my weakness hahaha
The food looks lovely
It all looks gorgeous but sadly inaccessible to me – when, when, WHEN will places start to introduce diabetes friendly afternoon teas? Many of them do gluten free and even vegan ones, yet something that is a medical necessity for many people is ignored!
Thanks for this. Perfect timing as was just wondering where to go for something a little exciting for afternoon tea! Booked it!
It looks such an amazing afternoon tea!
