Bonjour lecteurs! Where did you travel this year? So far, I made it to Spain on a solo trip and to Crete with the boys. But I am actively looking at some options potentielles like Italy par exemple for next year. I have my eyes on the Amalfi coast or maybe Tuscany. If you’re also considering a trip to this beautiful part of Italy, then here are few tips and suggestions to get your vacation plans started. La région is full of natural beauty, as well as plenty of history and culture in its cities and towns. That’s definitely the kind of trips I would love.
Before You Go
As with any other trip, it’s best to be prepared before you go. This will save time, stress, and money. Find flights and accommodations that will ideally sit you in a central location of Tuscany so that you can easily travel anywhere from there.
Indeed, there is so much to see in Tuscany. So to get to enjoy most of it, plan your itinéraire now, selecting activities that will naturally appeal to your famille. I would allow a variety of things. For the parents, a day trip to discover the famous wine and vineyards of Chianti.
And for a bit of culture, you must stop by the Tower of Pisa. It will certainly be a hit with the little ones!
Explore Florence
Either way, I would definitely make it to la belle capitale of Tuscany. Indeed, Florence is a must-see as it’s one of the most culturally rich cities in the world. During the Renaissance, it was THE PLACE where all the famous artists, inventors, and other creatives all gathered.
So the city is rich in terms of arts but also the home to many masterpieces of Renaissance architecture like the Cathedral and Santa Croce.
There are so many historic sites to see, including the tower of Pisa, the Palazzo Pitti, and plenty of galleries and museums. You could spend your whole time in Florence and still have more to do. And that goes without mentioning the food there…
Other Cities in Tuscany
Bien sûr, while Florence is a highlight of Tuscany, it’s not the only place to see.
There are also other beautiful locations to explore around Florence. I’ve already mentioned Pisa, but Siena is fabuleuse thanks to its Gothic architecture.
I would also recommend you check out Lucca. The ville est fameuse for its walls from the Renaissance.
It’s actually the only example of this kind of fortification still intact in Italy. You will fall in love with its medieval churches while not far from the montainous area of La Garfagnana if you fancy une aventure italienne!
The Tuscan Countryside
While j’adore l’idée to stop by Tuscan cities, I would also suggest you make some time to visit its villages in the countryside.
The area is bursting of green, rolling hills interspersed with ancient structures and things to explore. It’s like in the movies. Take The English Patient par exemple. It was filmed in Arezzo and Pienza and it looks absolutely gorgeous!
Enjoy the local gems, go for a wine tour and tasting. Or hire a car and explore la région this way. Personnellement, I would go for the Ferrari Tour in Tuscany so that you can enjoy a luxurious experience in some of the most beautiful places in the world. Now that’s a different way to explore Tuscany…
Et voilà! Just like that, I have already travelled to the stunning area that is Tuscany. I will now look further into it and who knows… Maybe next year, you will see some of the places named in this post on my blog…
