Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend

Marilyn Monroe said it herself, diamonds are la crème de la crème and the gemstone is still a choix populaire for couples to get married.

It’s truly timeless and it goes so well with any outfits. However, you can choose  from many alternative gemstones, especially if you fancy a pop of couleurs and une touche personelle. After all, you will be wearing your engagement ring on a daily basis, so you might as well express your personalité!

Bespoke Engagement Rings

Personnellement, I like nothing more than l’idée of having une pièce unique that you will find nowhere else.

Plus the process can be so much fun! Bespoke engagement rings are très populaires among couples these days. Plus, you will end up with a ring that is truly unique.

So why don’t you consider working with a jeweller to create a custom design just for you? Not only it will give you total control over every aspect of the ring ( you can choose the design,  the gemstone, the metal…), but it will hold a stronger symbol.

You can incorporate any specific events like your date of engagement or when you met! And you can create the design together with your partner?

Emeralds, Rubies and Sapphires

What gemstone would you go for? Emeralds make a beautiful choice thanks to its riche green shade.

But sapphires are also stunning! Traditionally blue, they also come in a variety of other colours, including pink, yellow, and green.

Did you know that a sapphire engagement ring symbolises loyalty and trust?

Rubies are bolder but they represent passion and love…

Other Gemstones

But you don’t have to go for those precious stones. Indeed, to add a bit of colour to your engagement ring, you can also consider, amethyst, aquamarine, and morganite.

I am really into stones and their meaning lately and each symbolise so many beautiful qualités. An amethyst is truly stunning with its purple shade and symbolises deep love, happiness, humility, sincerity, and wealth while aquamarine will give you tranquility, serenity, clarity, and harmony.

Morganite features a soft pink, peach, or salmon hue and is often associated with innocence, sweetness, romance, and love, which is parfait for young love.

Vintage & Antique Rings

J’adore l’idée of a an antique or vintage engagement ring. It will certainly be one of a kind and imagine the story the ring will have! What type of piece would you go for?

Whether you choose a Victorian, Edwardian, or Art Deco ring, you’ll be wearing a piece of history. Jewellery from the Victorian Era usually features intricate designs, floral motifs, and a combination of gemstones.

Edwardian Rings have more of a lacy design with filigree and milgrain detailing for some extra elegance and sophistication.

I think that personnellement, I would go for an Art Deco ring as I love the designs. I would go for a bold geometric pattern and some vibrant gemstones. It would be so glamourous and I love vintage pieces!

Pearls

You can also opt for a design with some pearls. I think they look very pretty and  have such a soft touch to them.

Plus, they are ever so elegant and timeless. I have one that I got from my holy communion and I cherish it so much.

It might not be such an exquisite choice compared to a gemstone, but it’s up to you if you feel that it matches your personalité or your story!

After all, an engagement ring is for life, so do what you feel best and what makes you happy! You’re the bride, so it’s totally up to you and it will be one of your classic jewellery pieces that you will wear forever.
