Bonjour lecteurs! Are you still looking for la place parfaite to visit with your family this summer? I have so many destinations saved on my Jet2 app for this summer as they offer so many cheap holidays…But Spain will always have my heart. I have so many memories there with (and without!) Grumpy Boyfriend. Have you ever been to Valencia? If not, check out now Benidorm. I know what comes to your mind… It’s a party town to get crazy and drink all day long! Well, not quite. I recently travelled there with Jet2 Holidays on a press trip and I must say I changed my mind about the city. Here are The Most Fun Activities To Do In Benidorm in Spain. Follow the guide and get inspired to book your next Benidorm Holidays with Jet2Holidays.
Visit The Beaches
Earlier this month, I might only have stayed 3 nights in Benidorm on a solo adventure, but it was certainly an exciting time! We packed so much in only a few days.
I might be a kickass lady who likes her dose of adrenaline, I also love to relax when I am abroad. Benidorm is fameux for its 2 beaches.
While La Playa de Levante is right next to the Strip, you might also want to check out the quieter Plaja De Ponent. Think sandy beach and palm tree for you to read a book and go for a swim.
Go Kayaking
In need of an adventure in the sun? Then, go kayaking with Capitán Kayak. I am not much of water person (if anything, I always avoid getting my hair wet!), but I am so glad I gave it a go.
We woke up early in the morning to find a peaceful Benidorm Bay just for us to explore.
I thought it would be a bit more wobbly, but it’s actually super fun! It truly felt amazing to be there under the sunshine.
Capitán de Yate directed us with talent and the hour went very quickly! It’s only 40€ / person for an excursion of 2 hours and a half.
Electric Bike Tour
Fancy seeing Benidorm from an higher point? Then go on an electric bike tour with TAO Bike.
You know how much I love cycling and it was such une experience fabuleuse to go up the mountains and see the bay from another angle!
Plus, it’s so easy to get started on an e-bike. Benidorm is very cycling-friendly and we had a great tour of the main streets and Cala Tio Ximo.
But you can even rent an e-mountain bike if you want to go a bit further out.
It was like being at home! You can even join a bike tour if you don’t know where to go. Even better, they also have vélos suitable for children. Prices started from 15€, so a cheap way to explore the city further.
Jet Skiing
Have you ever been on a jet ski? It was another first for me during my my trip to Benidorm and it was SO GOOD!!!!
Sérieusement, forget any fear you may have and book now a session with Carlos Water Sports Benidorm and we were off for an hour of fun on the water from 100€. They even offer para sailing or going on a banana boat.
We were in pairs and I was le passager at first, but once mid-way, we swapped. Once en charge, all I wanted to do was to go faster ! If you like some speed, this is définitivement one of the most fun activities to do in Benidorm! I was quite scared at first, but I am so glad I went for it! You get the hand of it pretty quickly and you can fly on the water, going up to 70mph! Don’t worry, I did not go that fast, but I can’t wait to do it again!
Hiking / La Cruz
Benidorm and its outskirts also features many beautiful locations for you to go hiking.
If you are up for it, I recommend you make it the Serra Gelada Natural Park to observe its beautiful fauna and flora.
But you can also go for shorter trails. Par exemple, we stopped by The Cross or La Cruz, an historic symbol in the area and we got to see some amazing views of the city!
Quelle vue! There are many trails around Benidorm for you to check out. It’s such a good spot to keep active while exploring new areas.
Go On A Safari Jeep Tour
On our last day, we were also lucky to go on a safari jeep tour with Marco Polo Expediciones. They offer all sorts of tours and outdoor activities that’s worth a look.
Our driver of the day, Crazy Franky picked us up from the hotel and he even let me play with his car. I was like like a child in a toys shop! But don’t worry, I did not drive. Once on board, we got to see the famous Monte Ponoch (Ponoig) or The Sleeping Lion.
But that’s nothing compared to our trek in the rocky roads up the montagnes. It was absolutely insane and so bumpy! Hat off to our driver who did it like a boss among the narrow roads.
That was so much fun, what a speed in a totally different terrain! It costs 51€/adult & 35€/ child; you can even go on a moonlight safari.
Wine Tasting
After such adrenaline, we deserved a break. So we stopped by Bodegas Enrique Mendoza for a beautiful wine tasting.
Once the tour completed among the stunning vineyards, we made it to a small covered terrace where we tasted no less than 7 wines and a selection of local cheeses and hams.
Now, I am all in for it! Both the rosé and white were excellent and I might have come home with a bottle or 2. I am usually very patriotic when with reds as I like nothing more than a French Merlot, but I must say their options were more than impressive too!
It’s such a calm and relaxing experience, especially near the zen garden.
The price per person is 28€ / person for a 2 hours session.
Where To Stay in Benidorm
If my guide inspired you to book your next flights to Benidorm with Jet2, then I have the best place in town for you to stay!
Think a chic and welcoming hotel right by the beach, so you are only a few minutes away from the old town, but also not far to the party district. The Barceló Benidorm Beach has it all to please.
I loved the décor of my room. Plus, the sea view did not disappoint either!
Very well situated so that you can enjoy everything that Benidorm has to offer, I also recommend you stop by its rooftop bar the B-Heaven.
Benidorm might be known for its nightlife, but there is always room to do it in a très chic twist. Now, that’s what I call a party with a fancy cocktail or 2 around the pool.
Where To Eat & Drink
In Spain, you must have some tapas. It le menu traditionnel you got to do at least once. So one evening, after walking along the Old Town and dreaming by the castle, stop by Calle Santo Domingo.
No wonder why it’s called Tapas Alley with a beautiful selection of restaurants for you to taste the local culinary talents.
La Taperia was absolutely amazing with croquetas but also some fancy tapas with bread and all sorts of toppings.
Personnellement, j’adore a good classic ham or some jalapeños. How spicy do you like it?
I also recommend its huevos rotos or ‘broken eggs’ all fried with ham and more up to your taste.
Vous préférez la paella? Then you will be in heaven at Restaurante Ulia right by the beach.
And if you fancy some exciting cocktails, then you must stop at The Selvatico rooftop bar at the Primavera Park.
It’s absolutely stunning to sit on the terrace and sip your drink while you’re looking at the city.
I also recommend the D-Vora Restaurante in the Old Town. The location is just out of an episode of The White Lotus.
I mean this blue dress was a dream in that spot. And you get to enjoy some elegant dishes while dreaming by the sea. There is nothing more Spanish and it reminded me so much of Sotogrande…
Are you in? Check out now the flights from London Stansted Airport with Jet2Holidays.
I hope my Benidorm Guide will inspire you to visit the area this summer. My Most Fun Activities To Do In Benidorm might feature some solo adventures I did last week without the boys. But you can totally do most of them with kids.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Jet2holidays. I was kindly invited on a press trip, but we love its family packages and have travelled with the company for years! All opinions are my own.
Benidorm gets lots of negative reviews but my granddaughter was there at the same time as you and like you she enjoyed herself. There is obviously so much to do and see in this lovely resort
