Testing A Local Argentinian Restaurant With OpenTable

Bonjour lecteurs! What is your favourite cuisine to enjoy with your family? What’s your restaurant préféré to visit? How often do you eat out with your tribe? We love many local pubs in our area. We love visiting them after a country walk. Last weekend, it was a Bank Holiday, so we did something a bit différent. We actually tested a Local Argentinian Restaurant With OpenTable. And what a beautiful treat!

OpenTable

Sometimes, it can be easy to always end up at the same restaurant. But we love a little bit of an adventure and we are always keen to discover new foodie places to check out in Kent.

Have you ever used OpenTable? We have been using the app for many years. Already back in London, we would always book something.

The app is super easy to use, it even finds your location and you can then browse some local restaurants.

C’est très simple and you get to discover all the best places in the area! We often use it to book something at the last minute if we fancied a dinner out.

OpenTable In Kent

We decided to finish the Bank Holiday Weekend with a family dinner.

So Grumpy logged onto OpenTable and we looked for a new place to visit in Kent.

Read other customers’ reviews, select your restaurant and a slot et voilà!

We decided to check out Buenos Aires Night Argentine Steakhouse for a meaty evening! Who can say no to a yummy steak?

And it was the only place in the area we had never been to before, so it had to be done!

The Restaurant Atmosphere

We booked a table for 6.30 pm, nice and early. It was the end of a perfect day after a visit to the Ashford Designer Outlet. We stopped by the new BRIO World Shop

We were the first to arrive at a beautiful Argentinian-themed restaurant.

The décor set the tone and we got started with some drinks.

The place was quick to get busy. Always a good sign!

I liked the softened atmosphere while Grumpy was already salivating at great steaks’ options!

Our Starters

We decided to go for it and ordered some starters.

With une sélection of cheese and onions empanadas. It’s Argentina’s traditional filled savoury pastry you get to savour with some sauce.

And to spice it up a bit, we also selected some Chorizo Sausage.

It’s basically a grilled Argentinian sausage beef & pork. Served with some salsa Criolla for some yummy flavours!

Le plus? The restaurant also offers a gluten-free option! Bravo!

Wow! It was délicieux! Great spicy start but not too much for your taste buds.

Mains

As we were in a proper Argentinian Steakhouse, Grumpy Boyfriend decided to go for an Argentine Chargrilled Lomo Steak.

Imagine a Prime Fillet steak cooked to your préférence. I was a bit worried it would take too long as it can take up to 30 min to prepare it.

But actually, by the time we had some drinks and our starters, we did not have to wait long at all.

And more importantly, it was exquisite! I have not had such nice meat in ages!

Personnellement, I ordered a Burger Casera. I thought the steak would be too much, but I regretted it!

Not to worry, my homemade burger with 100% Argentine beef and mozzarella cheese, lettuce, roasted tomato, and caramelised onion was délicieux too!

With a side of spinach, we were both in for a treat.

Kids Menu

The Kids Menu was very nice too. And you can even order a mocktail if they want to be like the grown-ups! That’s so cute!

Stanley was happy with juice and some spaghetti with tomato sauce.

And some extra chips! Oh well, it was the end of the Bank Holiday Weekend! The portions were absolutely huge!

But he was happy! And when you dine out, you might as well do it large…

Desserts

To carry on our Argentinian discovery, we also ordered some traditional desserts.

With a flan for him and some churros for moi!

Once more, we both really enjoyed our options.

And Stanley got the Chocolate Truffle Cake from the kids’ menu. It’s a rich dark and white chocolate truffle cake served with dulce de leche sauce… It was un succés!

One of the best foreign experiences we had in our local area for a long time! We usually stick to Italian or country pubs.

But it was lovely to get out of our comfort zone and discover a new local restaurant.

This food looks amazing. Me and my other half passed an Argentinian restaurant a few months ago and it looked and smelt lovely but also seemed really daunting so we gave it a miss but we will go back in I think.

I’ve never heard of opentable before, but just had a look and there’s actually quite a few restaurants round here, which is surprising as we live in a small town. Will definitely keep this in mind!

I love Opentable. I think I’ve got enough points to claim a free meal but I’m aiming to collect more to bag a more expensive meal, haha. I do miss those days where you can search by offer and there was a long list of 50% off restaurants. But after the pandemic they have taken that search feature away.

Sigh. I do miss a good steak restaurant. I still have Goodmans on my list to try. Have you tried Hawksmoor?
