Bonjour lecteurs! And just like that, summer is over! Last month has been a very interesting one for me. Indeed, September 2020 was so intense emotionally! I made some big changes in my life and I am now ready for a new start! Au programme, some exciting projects, after settling into our new routines but also more walks in the country. Wanna see? Time to say it all in my monthly highlights.
But First!
I must actually start by saying to all my readers a massive Merci! Indeed, I have just had a quick look at my stats and I am amazed to see that so far in 2020, we’ve had nearly 700 000 page views on the blog! It is crazy!
How little did I know when I started this project back in 2016!
Our Back To School Giveaways has also been a big succés! You still have some time to enter some competitions by the way!
And I also now have about 1500 subscribers to the Frenchie Newsletter. I was never sure about starting one, but I am actually so happy I did so!
So MERCI!!!! I love nothing more than connecting with people and I hope you are getting some good info on our channels.
Life In The Country
But back to September 2020 en détails! After a lovely and relaxing summer with the boys, we still made the most of the sun at the start of the month.
Before autumn officially kicked in, we enjoyed some lovely days outdoors.
We are very lucky to have so many beautiful places on our doorstep. Au menu, some good food in local pubs after some adventures at the park!
Baba Started School
It was soon time for Baba to start school. I was so nervous about it!
But he has been nicely settling down and it’s a huge relief to see him so happy!
He is absolutely loving it. He gets up every day, excited to go à l’école and he looks mega sweet with his uniform! Admittedly, I am totally biased ?
And when he is at home, we have been enjoying more than ever doing some crafts! It can all become super messy, but seeing him so into it makes me so contente! I might start to like this! Or maybe not ?
Fun Out & About
We’ve also had some adventures in Kent. Any excuse to do some extra exercise.
And I did some extra sport at the Ashford Designer Outlet too! You know how much I like shopping ?
Overall, the first two weeks were peaceful and our main target was to find our new routines around school times.
Days pass so quickly! I always feel like I could do with an extra hour or so to work when it is time to pick Baba up!
London Weekend
But once more, September 2020 brought some adventures. Thanks to Adagio Aparthotel, we had a gorgeous weekend in London.
We stayed in Brentford for a mini-adventure in the south-west of the capital.
It was our first time back in town since March, so it was really exciting! We were so lucky with the weather encore!
We even enjoyed a lovely cruise on the Thames and explored a bit Kingston!
Au Revoir Londres
Last month was quite emotional for me. During that weekend in London, it became very clear that my life was now officially in Kent.
I have always been missing London since we moved down here back in 2018. But this time around, even if we had so much fun in Kingston and Richmond, I was also happy to be back home!
London was busy and exciting, but I think I can now officially say au revoir to London. I don’t have that desire or hope that one day, we might move back there. This is not my life anymore and I am fine with it.
My Rocks
I suppose during the lockdown, I realised what we had here was worth more than some trendy location!
And I also reaffirmed something very important in September 2020. Indeed, after a long reflection (plus beaucoup de meditation and bike rides!), I realised that Baba and Grumpy Boyfriend are my true and only rocks.
Well, them and some very close friends and wine… And chocolate!
Okay, I shall stop there! But I think you get my point.
Enjoying Our Successes, But Not Only…
Life is busy and strange at times. I am the kind of person who dreams big and works hard for it.
And sometimes, I don’t take the time to appreciate what I have. Once a mission is accomplished, I am already thinking about my next challenge.
I don’t even savour what I get or what I achieved.
September 2020 – Finding My Rocks
I have taken a big step back. I reviewed September 2020 and overall it was emotionally draining…
I lost a friend but when a relationship is too toxic, then I think it is best to say goodbye! Plus, I know that I am not alone and I have very few BUT very strong rocks holding me.
If you read this post today, just take the time to pause and reflect. Be grateful for people who are always here for you.
I am a strong believer in karma and I think that if you are genuinely kind, life will be good for you! ALWAYS!
I am so ready for you, October 2020! The last term will be a real test with some exciting projects and dates in the diary! But I will handle it all! Maybe with a bit of wine and an extra square (or two!) of chocolate!
A word to the wise! Listen to your heart! It is sometimes wiser than you think…
Thanks for reading me blabbering about!
I wish you a very beautiful and colourful autumn!
Will you do something at home for Halloween? Are you visiting any pumpkin patch? What will you do over half-term?
Disclosure: This post features some sponsored content I published last month but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post for me to remember but also to reflect.
No current plans for half term at the moment, probably staying at home
not a lot –unless the weather improves
i wish i had a childhood like your sons
I used to live in Kingston, and when we moved “up north” I thought I would miss being so close to London. But actually I have not missed it at all, and it is so nice living somewhere that is less crowded.
Halloween :- with likely celebrate it somehow.
We are still undecided about what we will do for Halloween. We will maybe visit a local farm which has a Halloween theme at the moment and a pumpkin patch.
What have you got planned for October week?
Autumn is my favourite season
Looks great fun in London.
Some lovely pictures. My son Charlie has also started school he seems to be enjoying it which is great
It is so important to recognise and appreciate the ‘rocks’ in your life, they are what see you through life

We’re lucky enough to live on the North Cornwall coast, but I’d love to visit London, for a short trip! I haven’t been for years and would love to check out some of the sights. I too believe in Karma, although sometimes it feels like it takes awhile to come round but toxic people are generally negative people and bring things down on themselves.
We’ll be watching some comedy horror spoof films – the funny, not scary ones!
Happy Autumn to you too
Looks like you have a lot of fun together
Will be making Halloween decorations with my granddaughter
