During half-term, we stopped by Norfolk and I came back home energised and truly inspired again. So much that I was actually looking at houses in the area for sale! Our Arrivée At Waxham Sands Holiday Park
After a beautiful drive through a long road in the country, surrounded by fields and cute villages, we eventually made it to Waxham Sands Holiday Park.
We could not have felt more welcome! Because of the traffic, we missed the check in time, but there is always a member on site in the evening and our lodge was ready, waiting for us!
No stress! As soon as we arrived, everything was ready for us to relax.
On certain days, there are some food vans available and lucky us, Monday was a pizza van. I did not even need to cook, so big winner for me too!
Our Lodge
As for our lodge, it had everything we needed.
We came in to a spacious living space with a table and a large sofa for us to sit down.
But also a modern kitchenette with everything that we needed: a dishwasher, a fridge, an oven and even a welcome pack with some food.
Each lodge also has two bedrooms: one with two beds for the children and the main chambre with a mini en-suite.
C’est parfait to relax and you even have a cute balcony at the back where you can sit with a good book and a glass of wine!
Et voilà! We were set to relax! I liked the couleurs of the kitchen. Grumpy Boyfriend loved the WIFI signal!
I know that in this kind of places, people just want to switch off and relax, but we always need internet. This is the best sites we’ve visited in terms of WIFI hotspots!
The Park Facilities
After our yummy dîner, we were quick to explore Waxham Sands Holiday Park. It’s one of the most recent sites from Lovat Park Holidays’ portfolio and I must say that we were very impressed by the immaculate and well-equipped park!
Opposé the réception (open until 8pm in the summer and 6pm the rest of the year), there is a large tent as a communal space.
It has all you need to relax as well as a fire pit outside where you can enjoy some marshmallows, but you can also borrow books and board games…
Stanley LOVED the play area with its climbing frames, muddy kitchen and all the the rest.
Personnellement, j’ai adoré that we were littéralement in the middle of nowhere.
Our lodge was right by another obstacle course (for bigger children) and we spotted some deer while we were reading!
I went for some beautiful walks, looking at the sunset and it was the best feeling ever!
A Beautiful Beach On Your Doorsteps
Le détail top at Waxham Sands Holiday Park? You are right by the most beautiful beach and it was so quiet!
We had the place basically to ourselves! It was magique! When we go to the beach in Kent, places like Dymchurch or Camber Sands are always so busy!
And you can even help yourself to some beach toys at the toy library by the réception.
C’est parfait with kids! So that like me, you are a bit unorganised, pas de panique! The team at Lovat Park Holidays got your back!
We went for walks in the dunes, our feet in the cold water, collected some shells and beautiful stones… It was a beautiful adventure every single night!
Even better, the beach is fameuse for its colony of grey seals! We got to see them so close to us! I’ve never witnessed anything like that! It was AMAZING!
Places To Visit Nearby
Our Lovat Park was so family-friendly and really quiet! But we also visited places nearby.
On our first day, we drove to the National Trust Horsey Windpump. It was beautiful to be by the boats and learn about the old days! We truly felt like we were back in time!
Another village we loved? Ranworth where les canards certainly entertained Stanley. You can sit by the marina and feed them.
Or explore along the marshes. It’s beautiful! We walked the the church, all the way to the top so that we could see all the area!
We also LOVED Poppylands Tea Rooms & Restaurant 10 min drive form our park.
Such a gem and we happened to visit on D Day, so it was quite spécial and its owner is a true passionate! You really need to go there. It was the perfect way to end our mini break to Norfolk!
If it’s sunny, you can also visit Great Yarmouth, it’s your classique seaside town.
We made it to the Elizabethan House Museum, which was quite nice.
But we also visited the Merrivale Model Village.
It was a bit pricey in my opinion (£40 for a family pass) but golf is included. It was cute but the one we saw in the Isle of Wight last year was way cheaper and better looked after. So only if you are a fan!

We had such a beautiful time in Norfolk. I totally fell in love with the area and the surroundings of the park.
It was stunning to be among so many animals and right by a beautiful sandy beach.
The team was extremely friendly and all the park was well-equipped and litter free. Our lodge was very clean and spacious.
I am usually more of a luxury hotel kind of gal but I came home relaxed and so happy to have paused in nature for a few days.

I was just in jeans and trainers, make-up free, exploring Waxham Sands Holiday Park and its surroundings and dreaming of a life on the coast!
A breath of fresh air like we’ve not had one for a long time! I would be curieuse to see what the other Lovat Parks Holidays have to offer!
