Bonjour lecteurs! If like me, you love discovering new places with your famille, I have found a beautiful location in the heart of Kent. We have now been living in the Garden of England for over 6 years and I can’t believe I only came across Hayne Barn Estate now! In the heart of a beautiful village called Saltwood, this is an absolute gem. We recently visited le domaine and I came home feeling happy and relaxed. Staying in an Eco Lodge at Hayne Barn Estate was simply magical.

L’Atmosphère
Our weekend at Hayne Barn Estate was all about relaxation. As soon as we arrived, we loved driving up the cul-de-sac all the way to the beautiful Hayne Barn Estate.
We parked up and walked down the path in the woodlands. It’s beautiful and very private and right at the end, here it was.
Our Hare Eco Lodge sustainably made was welcoming us.
Such a cosy ambience and yet, it was very spacious with all the amenities needed. Regardez!
Our Hare Eco Lodge
As you enter the main living space with its incorporated kitchenette, a table and a sofa to relax, you can’t miss all les petites touches.
I fell in love straight away with the hare decorations and or even the vintages items to remind us that we were in the beautiful county of Kent.
C’est très charmant!
You might be staying in a lodge, but you still have all the comfort and the luxuries to make your stay a luxurious experience.
The décor is stylish: from the kitchenette that looks very moderne in this blue shade to the en-suite, everything look beautiful.
When the rustic charm of a traditional lodge meets some modern touches.
With their relaxing couleurs, the bedrooms are equally cosy but stylish.
Exploring The Estate & Saltwood
The beautiful estate also offers a wedding venue at Hayne House. So the grounds are certainly parfaits for the l’occasion!
We decided to explore le domaine and it did not disappoint. You can even play tennis in one of the courts or just go for a walk in le village nearby, Saltwood.
There is even the American Garden that you can visit in Spring.
But we were just happy to go down to Saltwood and explore the local play area or admire the peacocks coming from Saltwood Castle.
And I might have been dreaming about living in the country… A house like this would do, among the foxes, the rabbits and the squirrels!
Rustic Charm
After a tranquil walk, we were quick to make it back to the lodge to enjoy our private eco-hot tub.
Indeed, each eco lodge at Hayne Barn Estate also includes an elevated wooden decking with your own table and a stone barbecue for you to enjoy a BBQ.
Even better than glamping when you splash about in your own hot tub with a glass (or two) of bubbly. Now this is what I call pure relaxation. Put it on, let it get warm and you can even enjoy an evening dip as it will still be hot.
Either way, it was just fabuleux to relax in the water with a book and just listen to the birds singing in the trees. En plus, you are right in the woodlands, so c’est super privé.
Folkestone & the Battle of Britain
Hayne Barn Estate is the perfect location to explore the Saxon Way and its surroundings.
It’s barely 15 minutes drive to Folkestone and Hythe and as we stayed two nights, we decided to stop by both towns. But we also made it to Brockhill Country Park on the way home.
If you stay in an Eco Lodge at Hayne Barn Estate, I really recommend you visit the Battle of Britain Memorial.
It’s such a place intéressante. It’s free to visit, but you can also pay £18 for the Scramble Experience (family ticket, adults are £11.50). It’s very interactive and you can see what it was like for the squadron back then.
Stanley certainly enjoyed pretending to fly a plane and dress like a pilote.
Ok, I admit, I also enjoyed trying this Aviator on…
We also walked to Folkestone Harbour for a bit of food in the sunshine.
Eco Lodge at Hayne Barn Estate – Le Verdict
If like moi, you love a unique getaway in the country but also some luxury touches, then Hayne Barn Estate is parfait!
Our eco lodge was beautiful and it was very quiet. We enjoyed some relaxing time together as a family.
It’s such a cute adventure to experience, especially with little ones. We loved going for walks, eating some marshmallows and splashing about in the hot tub. But also pausing and observing nature in the middle of nowhere.
Plus, we got lucky with the weather and it truly felt like a mini holiday in the UK. Who said that you needed to go abroad to discover some new horizons?
Le parfait weekend à la campagne that was totally différent and ever so charming… One that we will not forget.
