Bonjour lecteurs! Once upon a time, we all dream to be a princess and live in a castle… non? I certainly do! Or do you know someone looking for a dream place to get married? Don’t look further. I found it for you. We had the Dreamiest Stay At Tylney Hall over half-term. The beautiful 4A* Grade II listed hotel certainly makes a great option for un weekend romantique. We did it about a decade ago with Grumpy Boyfriend and it was so lovely to find out with Stanley that Tylney Hall is also very family-friendly.
Tylney Hall
Located in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, Tylney Hall Hotel is a luxury country house full of charm with its spectacular grounds and serene lakes.
It’s said to be the Hampshire’s most romantic retreat thanks to its 66 acres of parkland and I can believe it.
But let’s not forget that the hotel also hosts the award-winning Oak Room Restaurant where you can have a gourmet moment.
If you are looking for new romantic getaway options or a luxurious hotel to stay with your family, Tylney Hall should certainly be up on your list.
Our Arrival
After driving in the rain, we made it to the hotel and we were straightaway impressed with the view. The car par was surrounded by flower bushes and it was already like a dream.
The entrance courtyard of the luxury hotel also made an impression even if the British weather was yet again moody!
The Victorian house looks impressive and so does la fountaine. Wait until you go inside and you will instantly fell in love.
After a warm welcome à la réception, we were introduced to Tylney Hall and its numerous gardens.
L’Atmosphère
The tone was set, we were ready to have a lovely stay within the beautiful house.
After checking in, we made it through the corridor and were immédiatement impressed with the outdoors pool. What a peaceful view in the heart of the Hampshire countryside! Even better, it was heated!
Now Tylney Hall knows how to greet its guests. Within 10 min after our arrival, we were amazed by the sumptuous décor of the house but also the stunning grounds. It’s a dream comes true.
Some might even say that it is the perfect location for a fairytale. I certainly liked dreaming about being une princesse in the walled garden and in the orchard.
Our Family Suite
We made it all the way to the tennis courts and reached the terraced cottages where our family suite was. Oui, bring your rackets and get set to play a match if this is your thing.
Personnellement, I rather enjoyed a fresh plate of fruit that was awaiting for us in our family room. Stanley made the honours to the biscuits and we could relax in our suite.
Our cottage was very spacious, made of two rooms: a living space turned into Stanley’s own bedroom and the master bedroom alongside a spacious bathroom.
It was lovely to have so much space. It was decorated with taste and the bed was the comfiest ever.
Exploring The Gardens
Next time you stay or enjoy an Afternoon Tea at Tylney Hall, you must explore the glorious gardens.
With about 66 acres of grounds, get your steps in and admire the fauna and flora.
I was quick to explore with Stanley and we even spotted a deer! I told you that Tylney Hall felt like being in a fairytale…
But we also LOVED pausing by the lakes and observing the fish. We even met a fellow French little boy whom Stanley immediately played with.
Walking around the gardens, the grey sky did not dampen our spirits. We loved the hidden spots, the woods at the back or even the Italian Garden on the side of the hotel, right outside the bar. It’s huge!
After a beautiful session of hide and seek in the picturesque location, we made it back to our room.
The Pools
Indeed, the wellness facilities at Tylney Hall offer you the very best for you to relax and have fun with your family.
If you like un peu of pampering, you can get a treatment at the spa.
But for now, we made it to the indoor pool. It involved a lot of splashing but Stanley also practised his swimming skills.
Not much to be fair, he was more intéressé in splashing me…
Outside, other guests were making the most of the outdoors heated pool among le jardin.
Le Dîner
And this is how we spent the afternoon before heading to the beautiful Oak Room Restaurant where we had some fabulous dîner.
Once more, we were in for a treat with some délicieuse food.
I recommend you try the Beef Tartar Teriyaki and the Potato Gnocchi.
Mon désert was not bad either! The Dark Chocolate Tart was a dream!
And Stanley certainly enjoyed a proper crêpe with bananas!
It was amazing in such a beautiful setting. But si vous préférez something a bit more relaxed, you can eat in the lounge by the fire or on the terrace in the summer.
Le Petit-Déjeuner
After an evening stroll in the gardens, we made it back to the room for a beautiful night sleep in the so comfy bed.
Time to wake up and enjoy more food. Le petit-déjeuner was another succés. He ordered some pancakes again and I went for some royal eggs.
C’est un classique, you can’t go wrong with it. But you could also enjoy a great selection of viennoiseries, fresh fruit and juices and more from the buffet.
I was so sad to leave Tylney Hall. It was just magical and I would have loved staying there longer.
Exploring Hook & Its Area
But not to worry, we decided to explore a bit more the area. So before heading home, we made it to The Vyne.
The National Trust is only 10 minutes drive from l’hôtel and you would love it. From a Victorian country house to a former Tudor house turned into 17th-century family home…
It was fascinating to learn more about Henry VIII staying with the Sandys family.
Don’t you think they could film an episode of Bridgerton there?
He played some piano, I dreamed more about being a princess.
We also relaxed in the gardens before finishing the day with an ice cream.
Tylney Hall – Le Verdict
Et voilà! Just like this, the Dreamiest Stay At Tylney Hall came to an end.
Once more, we had a fabulous time. We loved our room in one of the terraced cottages. It was fabulous to wake up in the morning and hear the birds in the trees.
We loved walking around the beautiful gardens of the hotel and we certainly made the most of the facilities.
It’s been a very relaxing stay and it truly felt luxurious. If you get to stay in the main house, you will certainly appreciate the décor.
Looking for something très spécial to take your family? Or do you fancy a romantic getaway in the country?
I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Tylney Hall for a relaxing time.
What was the most luxurious hotel you’ve ever visited? This was the dreamiest stay of all. It’s truly unforgettable. And if you like this location, you might also want to check out Ashdown Park Hotel from the same collection.
Disclosure: We stayed at Tylney Hall for free in exchange for an honest opinion. This was amazing from start to finish. We can’t wait to come back again one day.
