And if either of you feel the need, accompany them every time they drive for the first few weeks or until you’re both more assured of their driving ability.

A last word of advice… Be patient with your teen when they learn the art of driving. What might look straightforward to you might not be for them.
Your child will pass their test quicker if they have confidence in their abilities, so it’s all about how you make them feel in the car.
I know for a fact that I was absolutely terrified at first. If you shout at them or snap when they make a rookie mistake, it will not help la situation but make it even worse.
Try to be supportive when your teen is learning to drive. Be patient when you accompany them on journeys and keep positive. You need to make them feel that they have the capacité to become confident drivers.
If you don’t think you have enough patience to be the supervising adult for your child, then let someone else do it.
