Bonjour lecteurs! It’s time to reflect and see what July 2024 has been for us. How has the summer been for you so far? My last monthly highlights are quite intense because we’ve been doing so much lately! As always with the summer holidays, life goes a bit crescendo with days out, all sorts of activités to keep Stanley busy while I juggle the house and work. It’s been pretty crazy over the last few weeks, but I can’t complain, that’s the way I love it. Littéralement, I feel like a girl on fire, looking back at all the stuff we’ve been up to…
Work Work Work
It can be sometimes difficile to concentrate when it’s so hot like today. The last thing I want to do is being on my laptop, editing pics, sending emails or writing blog posts and captions.
But that’s what the first week of July 2024 was all about. Nothing fancy to see here.
Just our little life in Kent, him being at l’école and me going for bike rides or walks in the mornings.
But my existence got a bit more exciting when we went on a cute weekend away to stay at the beautiful Bedford Arms. With more walks in the country and me dreaming even more of a cottage à la campagne.
Fun Things
The second week went even faster with some cool moments like seeing the last musical at the Marlowe Theatre.
We had such a blast watching The 101 Dalmatians The Musical. I can’t believe how lucky we are to have such a beautiful theatre like this so close to us.
It was littéralement like seeing a London show, nothing else. The qualité of the dancing and singing on top of the décor and the direction… It was simply fabuleux!
Other fun things included some sample sales at the Ashford Designer Outlet where I got some beautiful bits at Maje and Sandro.
Fashion & Family
And just like that, the weather eventually improved and we got some sunny days.
So I made the most of it and wore a couple of my fave summer bits. This blue dress from Very UK is juste parfaite, I am actually wearing it again today!
Added with a new très chic pouch from Maje and my new elegant silver shoes et voilà!
I may be have been a bit overdressed for a pub lunch in the country with some of our family, but better this way than being underdressed!
It was so good to enjoy some simple moments in Kent. I love nothing more than being in cute Kentish villages in this kind of temperatures!
Towards The End of School
Stanley was also super busy at school in between the last few days, exams results and its sports day.
We got lucky with more sun and I dragged Grumpy Boyfriend with me this year but it was a hot and long day!
Never mind that, we also took part in the Innocent Crush It Summer Games in Stratford and it was so much fun!
I mean, he even won a médaille! Even better than the Olympics in Paris! Not kidding! Fancy having a bit of fun over the summer? Then check out all the cool challenges Innocent Drinks has organised for you to have fun and learn more about fruit.
Hello Lapin!
To my surprise we came back from London to find out that Grumpy Boyfriend got a new bunny!
Bienvenue Daisy, our new cute little grey pet. She is only a few weeks old and a huge fan of cuddles, but she certainly knows what she likes and what she doesn’t like…
Adorable? Oui! And she can certainly be such a distraction when I am trying to work! Especially when the third week of July 2024 was ever so busy! We got a new bed, I made some décor changes and sorting out in our room (merci Vinted for helping me decluttering my wardrobe)
Let’s The School Holidays Begin!
And my brother visited us again before he left for France. So as the school holidays was officiellement starting, I had a lot on my plate on top of work.
But not to worry as we had a beautiful weekend altogether!
We spent a day at Dover Castle to explore all that the fascinating location had to offer, as well as the WWII tunnels and the new play area.
Quelle aventure! It was so much fun and we learned a lot about the Franco-British history. So school might not be over in the Frenchie house after all…
Canterbury
The day after, we made it to Canterbury where we walked around the beautiful Westgate Gardens and I checked out the last Worth The Kilo sale.
It was amazing as I found a cute second-hand bag and the most gorgeous vintage yellow dress. I am obsessed with that shade at the minute.
Even better, I got a super beautiful yellow cashmere cardi that will go so well in the Sandro sales… I will blame it on The Palm Royale. I’ve been watching this cool TV show and the main character always wear such beautiful yellow outfits! I would have loved to be around in the 60s…
Révolution Beauté
After such a beautiful weekend, we made it home and I used my new Manucurist Green Flast Nail Set. J’adore!!!
I can’t stop using it! Have you tried it before? Have a look now and enjoy 15% off with my code MANUCECILE. It’s a révolution beauté! You can do your own manicure at home thanks to the LED Gel Polish and it’s so easy to remove!
Have a look on my stories on Instagram. I can’t stop using it. It’s so nice, gentle on your nails as it’s made with plants.
Manucurist is definitely a brand to follow! Try it and let me know what you make of it!
Early Birthday Celebrations!
And you want to know why I was making sure to have nice nails? Because the end of July was a beautiful early party to celebrate my birthday!
Next year, I will reach the big 40! OMG! Well, for now, I had a series of lovely treats and I ever felt so spoiled!
First stop, I went to see Pretty Woman the Musical with my friend and it was sensational!
But I also had fun with the boys mid-week. We went to London for the night where we stayed at The Lincoln Suites.
It was sublime and the best way to have fun! In between a visit to the Postal Museum, some fun games at Puttshack and some yummy food at the Galvin Bistrot, I was fulfilled.
WOW!!! I know, I am a lucky girl! But it is not every day it’s my birthday. On the actual day, we also made it to the new Breakfast Club at St. Pancras International et voilà! The festivités were over. Well not quite but I will tell you in my next monthly highlights.
July 2024 – Girl On Fire
Oui, I know, looking back at July 2024, last month was a bit crazy. But a good crazy with so many beautiful memories and more projects with work.
I was truly a girl on fire last month! I am usually scared to be bored, well that was not going to happen!
But I am so glad we did it all! You’ve only got one life so live it fully without regrets! And don’t worry about what others think. This is your life, so your rules, your way!
Wishing you a beautiful August. I hope you’re having lots of fun with your family and making the most of every single minute of it. Because you’ve only got one shot at this…
That’s all from me folks! It’s Sunday evening and the sun is out, so I am going to make the most of it with my tribe.
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! This a post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country and London. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures.
