Bonjour lecteurs! I can’t believe I am only seating down to write my January 2022 Monthly Highlights! It’s been busy with our last series of Valentine’s Day Giveaways. And last week we had my French family over during half-term. So not much time to sit and reflect on what the first month of 2022 was for us. It sounds like a long distanced memory now, but how was your start to 2022?
Walks & Leeds Castle
We kicked off January 2022 with a cold winter walk. Nothing can stop me to go on an adventure with the boys!
It was good to get some fresh air after the Xmas break.
The last week of 2021 was a weird one with a lot of food and way too much TV, so we needed to get walking.
And before Stanley went back to school, we even made it to Leeds Castle for a winter walk around.
It was a cold but sunny day and we loved walking around the castle and the maze. We always have a fabulous time there.
Birthdays & London
January is a busy one for us with many birthdays. So we caught up with our family and we had some nice dinners out.
I also made it to London for a shopping day. I love checking out the sales!
Walking around Great Portland Street and Regent Street, I found some bargains with a beautiful cashmere jumper I have been wearing nonstop since then. So comfy and très chic!
I was also super lucky to test a Laser Carbon Peel with RejuvLab London. My skin felt tout simplement amazing!
I have never done anything like that before and my face looks so glowing for the following days. Regardez!
The video of the process is also available on my Instagram reels if you are curieux.
More Pampering
As it was soon to be Stanley’s birthday, I made sure to look my best.
Au programme, a new manicure at my local fave beauty salon Beau Boutique.
I also made it to the beautiful Ivy Grace Hair Salon for a new haircut and a super cute balayage.
Sérieusement, I looked incredible when I left the salon! A shame, I can’t look like that most days non?
Stanley Turned 6!
The big day arrived and Stanley turned 6! I can’t believe he is now in year 1. He is such a bubbly and chatty character!
His anniversaire was on a Monday, so we had a petite party with our family the weekend before.
He got spoiled rotten as always and on an actual day, we went for a cheeky pizza at Pizza Hut!
It went down well as we both love a good pizza!
Outdoors Adventures
The rest of the month was made of beautiful sunny winter walks.
We have been to many local villages, enjoyed some beautiful pub lunches and get some exercise at the same time.
I am always a sucker for some new beautiful hidden gems. I made the most of the sunny weather we had in January 2022 to go on many bike rides.
And then, I would drag the boys back to a new path I might have found.
Who can say no to some nature and some yummy food!
East London Weekend
But we also made it to London at the end of January 2022. We stopped by the très chic Stratford Hotel. See my full review if you fancy.
The hotel was stunning. We obviously stopped by the fameux Westfield Centre for some shopping.
The boys went to see Sing 2. Worth checking it out according to them. I have heard the soundtrack all day the following week, so that must have been a good one 😉
Walking around East London was just la parfaite fin to a beautiful month.
January 2022 – Birthday Boy & Outdoors Adventures
January 2022 was such a lovely start to the new year. I know the first month can sometimes feel a bit blue and depressing.
But because we regularly had days out (even something as simple as a local walk), it actually turned into a beautiful time.
We made beaucoup de memories and Stanley had so much fun.
He settled back into school nicely after a long Xmas break. And I also started on my new health journey.
One of my goals for 2022 is to get more active and I want to spend more time outdoors. I actually signed up to a local gym at the end of the month and it gives me such a good motivation to get going!
I cycle there for some extra exercise and I feel so much better inside out. Such a good routine for the mindset.
I finished January 2022 feeling like a winner and it gave me a real kick! Not so much in February…
But it is une autre histoire for my next monthly highlights!
How was the start of 2022? Did you manage to establish good routines to get motivated and succeed?
Did you stop bad habits that were not serving you well?
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures.
Nothing like a bracing day out! 6 years old , where does the time go??

Beautiful photos. Kind of feel sorry for you that you have so many birthdays straight after Christmas but then I saw the happiest of photos and realised it’s much better than January blues. Glad you enjoyed London. Hope you got lots of stuff from the sales.
