Bonjour lecteurs! You know it by now, Baba is a real French foodie! Brasserie Blanc recently changed its children’s menu so that it features a better variety of healthy options. We have already visited its Southbank branch before it had a little makeover, so I was really curieuse to check it out! Here is for you our Brasserie Blanc Southbank Review. Enjoy and book a table now if you fancy a bit of French food after reading this!
Brasserie Blanc
Brasserie Blanc wants its restaurants to be welcoming with its comfy spaces. The chain offers a lovely choice of French food but not only!
Indeed, new dishes inspired by Raymond Blanc’s travels in North Africa, Asia and even the Americas is now available.

So that you can enjoy a large choice of tastes and textures with some good wines and a very French style.
Brasserie Blanc Southbank – The Atmosphere
The Southbank restaurant has recently had a little makeover and it looks so gorgeous!

It features a very cute pergola terrace where you can sit back and enjoy some food or simply a drink. It is very French to have food on the terrace! What a lovely touch!

The inside is equally charming! Decorated with style with its French touches, it has a cosy atmosphere that is very charming!
Of course, we loved the wines selection but the setting is also good.

It feels very spacious and our table was really comfy! Très chic!
A La Carte Menu
We were quick to order our food. First, some Merlot bien sûr! Even Grumpy Boyfriend enjoyed a bit when he usually has a beer. Top mark for offering a French one!

The A La Carte Menu has so much yummy food! And it is not only full of French clichés! So that you can enjoy some classics but you can also be more adventurous!
Starters
I went for the cheese soufflé for starter and Baba had half of it! It is such a delicious classic dish I could not resist!

With its Wyke Farm Cheddar sauce, it was quite fun for Baba to dip in pieces of it! And according to him, it was ‘délicieux!’ I had to agree!
Grumpy Boyfriend tried the Potted Cornish Crab & Avocado with its sourdough toast! What a treat and a lovely portion too!

That is what I call a good lunch!
Mains
For the main, I decided to go for a healthier option than a burger. And I am so happy I went for the Moroccan Mezze Platter! It was lovely presented and really full too!

Brasserie Blanc offers indeed a very good selection of veggie options!

My partner ordered one dish from the ‘Around the World’ section and the Malabar Fish Curry with some coconut was another succés!
Once more, great portions and it was not too spicy so that you could fully enjoy it! I am not a huge fan of food you can barely taste if it is too hot.

Brasserie Blanc offers the right balance! Our mains were very satisfying with excellent portions!
Desserts
To finish en beauté, I was a bit naughty with the Chocolate Feuillantine. It is basically a chocolate sponge and mousse with some hazelnut cream and some black cherries!

WOW!!!! But don’t worry, my assistant Baba was happy to help too with my dessert! A child with some chocolate all over his face is always a good moment, non?

Grumpy Boyfriend tasted another French classique, the Cherry Amandine. Amande means almond in French. So it is basically a pastry filled with some frangipane. It is quite sweet but with the cherries and the cream, it was absolutely delightful!

‘Amandine’ is also a girls’ name in France!
Children’s Menu
Brasserie Blanc recently changed its Children’s Menu to include a wider choice and some healthy options.
I must start by saying that I was very impressed with the selection. Unlike many restaurants that usually offer a fish and chips, some burgers and other boring dishes, Brasserie Blanc is quite different here again!

Your children can go for a Falafel Wrap or even a Cottage Pie! Baba wanted chips so we ordered him a plate of Chicken Goujons.
And we were not disappointed with it! We had a proper piece of chicken and not some sort of nuggets! Nice! And the chips were cooked as I love it! French Fries and not chunky ones s’il-vous-plaît! A winning main!

And I can’t even tell you about his dessert! Baba (and me too!) enjoyed some Vanilla Madeleine with its chocolate sauce! What a treat!

It came up warm and it was simply so lovely! I could not stop but think of Marcel Proust… The famous French writer evokes a memory of eating a madeleine when he was a kid and I always remember studying this book!
Brasserie Blanc Southbank Review – Le verdict
Brasserie Blanc Southbank did not disappoint us! The service was quick and the waiters were very friendly!
Everyone came and checked that we were alright. Plus, they were lovely with Baba! Such an efficient service!
A friendly atmosphere, some good food & some fab service! What else? The menu is diverse and I was happy to see some classic French meals mixed with some more adventurous choices. And the food was delicious from start to finish with some good portions!

Brasserie Blanc Children’s Menu Review
The Children’s Menu gets the top mark for sure! It is so good to see the way Raymond Blanc incorporated some classic French food such as a madeleine for kids! Baba loved having a dessert for grown-ups!

Plus children can truly have a taste of French Cuisine and a visit to the restaurant can become a cultural experience too!
No need to add that I was pleased with the great selection of wines and a lovely atmosphere too!

We will definitely come back if we are in town!

Expect more than some Brasserie food at Brasserie Blanc! It excelled all my memories! Well done to all the staff!

The pic of the yummy souffle has reminded me that we haven’t had one for a while. Will be whipping one up in our house soon but I don’t imagine it will be anywhere as good as Brasserie Blanc’s offering.
