April 2026 – Never Stop Reaching For the Stars

Bonjour lecteurs! After a fabulous sailing trip in Croatia, it’s time to reflect on April 2026. In my last monthly highlights, I’ll share all our highs and lows (there was a big one with losing our pet…). But as always, we tried to make the most of it and keep moving forward. I made some new great memories with my family, and I am ever so happy that we explored many beautiful locations. But April 2026 also taught me une leçon importante: never stop reaching for the stars. I’ve said it before: dream big, dream even bigger. There is nothing wrong with wanting more out of life. If anything, I feel that Gen Z can teach us so much in that area.

London Fun

April 2026 started with the Easter Weekend and we certainement made the most of it. As Stanley broke up a day earlier, I took him to London to check out the new collaboration between SEA Life London and Yoto Player.

It is so cool! You can now enjoy the tour with a mini audio guide, specially created for kids to learn more about the underwater life. You can even do it in French and other languages!

We also made it for lunch at the famous Balthazar London in Covent Garden. Now that’s what I call some yummy food!

Easter Weekend

As the Easter Weekend was approaching, we stayed in one of the beautiful Knights’ Retreat Lodges at Leeds Castle, and it was super fun.

Once more, it was pretty epic to walk around the grounds before the opening. The castle and the play area are always a hit with Stanley, and we were so comfy in our pod!

From Kent, direction Berkshire, to test the family package at the Royal Berkshire. We actually stayed there last year, and it was ever so fun to come back. Now, who would not dream of such a beautiful garden?

It’s peaceful and very well catered for families. So if you need a pied-à-terre in the area, remember this beautiful hotel.

We finished the Easter Weekend with more family time and yummy food at my in-laws.

Juggling Work & School Holidays

Et voilà! It might have been time to get back to work, but it was also the school holidays.

Thank god for Barracudas camps, where Stanley played football and other fun activities, while I was working in town. Ok, I also did a bit of shopping, thrifting in charity shops.

I might have passed my new passion to Stanley… He even found une éditon speciale of a Minecraft bag. How cool is this?!

But we also did some learning thanks to Brainiac at the Marlowe Theatre. Au programme, crazy science experiments, with songs and lots of explosions! That was pretty cool!

Au Revoir Chanel

Sadly the same week, our dear little bunny left us in the night. She had not been well for a few weeks and she suddenly got worse. So we had to rush her to the vet on a Sunday night and let her go.

I still can’t believe it’s been over a month without her… You don’t realise it, but pets take such a huge part in your life… It was a bit weird for a few weeks without our bunny and we did consider getting another one. But I think, we are done for now.

Life in Kent & London

It’s always the same with death and mourning. The show must go on. I had deadlines and it was still the Easter break.

More juggling with mum life and other things. We made it to the beach for the first time in 2026. Direction Hythe, where we played and we went for a walk around the old town.

But we also stopped by Bloomsbury in London for a little weekend in town. In between some yummy food in Fitzoria and the British Museum, we also check out the Last Stronghold VR experience, taking us to a medieval France. That was pretty cool!

A Quiet Rest of the Month

The rest of April 2026 was pretty quiet with slow weekends at home, swimming lessons and a lot of work done.

I tried to push myself to go cycling more often. But I have been really rubbish this year. I am busy with work when the weather is nice, and quiet days are just cold and miserable.

I went for daily walks instead, but I don’t know why, I felt pretty unmotivated last month. I’ve lost a bit my mojo, keeping busy with work and getting starting with my new fashion business.

But I still had fun in London, catching up with friends and going to the preview of a French movie. It was nice to glam up for a day and go up to town.

April 2026 – Never Stop Reaching For the Stars

April 2026 was rather chilled compared to other times. As always, we started well with many adventures in Kent & beyond. But the loss of our pet unsettled a lot of things. I don’t think I found the right work / life balance with what seemed to be the longest school break either. It’s sometimes so hard to get back to it after having Stanley for so long at home. But I still nailed some exciting projects to work on over the next few weeks, so there is a silver lining.

I think that deep down, I have been experiencing a bit of the imposter syndrome lately. It was like some of my goals were out of reach, or was it just in my mind?

While I prepared for this post, I realised that there is actually nothing wrong with wanting more in life. Sure, I think we are doing pretty well in so many ways. But I long for other things, like a new house and even more exotic adventures…

A recent press trip to Croatia opened my eyes on so many levels. Getting out of my comfort zone and facing challenges is the best way to grow and learn. Equally, it’s ok to go after your desires.

So April 2026’s lesson should stay with me for the rest of this year: never stop reaching for the stars. You might doubt it at times, but you are worth it! It’s all about daily actions towards it all. If you want it enough, it does not matter when or even where you start! Go for it! You want a stick on the moon? Go and get it and stop feeling guilty of your desires. After all, only when you stretch yourself to the max you achieve huge things. You deserve everything that you desire, and even better.

Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! This a post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country and in London. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures
