July 2019 – Family Time & Jersey

Bonjour lecteurs! I have been a bit quiet on here. We had a little break last month and I am slowly going back to work. But I will not pretend, I am not in the mood for it 🙂 I would rather enjoy myself and make the most of the nice weather. So let’s start August with my monthly highlights. July 2019 really family-oriented for us. For once, Grumpy Boyfriend came up to London with us. We stayed in a lovely hotel for the occasion. But we also took our Summer holiday. Direction Jersey! I took many pictures and I will soon write a full post dedicated to it. But you can have here a little sneak peek. So au programme some rest and so many lovely days out too!!!

Some Family Time At Home & London

July was really quiet at first. After rushing and feeling a bit overwhelmed back in June, I decided it was time to enjoy simple things. We had some lovely days at home.

It involves some yummy food thanks to an event I attended with Meatless Farm. Indeed, I got to cook with the fabulous Katie Piper.

We also had a glam photoshoot in Chelsea (hopefully, I will get to share some pictures with you here soon!).

I also went shopping and caught up with my friend R. for lunch.

Picnics at the park and downtime were on the menu too. I did not capture much but we enjoyed those simple and slow moments for sure!

The little one also went for a haircut and was well pleased with himself!

The Local Fire Station

One of those little moments was visiting our local fire station. It was an open day and to be fair, I did not expect much of it.

But it was really big and busy too! Baba was well excited!

His face says it all! He had a blast

Not only he had ice cream but he also collected some stickers and used the firehose twice to stop the fire!

Observing the pro before doing it himself

And all in style with his gorgeous yellow raincoat s’il-vous-plaît! It is a French brand called Carrément Beau and I am totally obsessed with it! I actually got Baba a couple of pieces for the Summer and he wears it all encore and encore!

Looking very beau…

En plus, ‘Carrément Beau’ literally means ‘Bluntly Beautiful!’. It is a bit cheeky 🙂

Back In Saint Bloomsbury

The following week, Grumpy Boyfriend had some meetings in town, so we decided to make it a full family weekend.

We all went to London and while my man was at work, I rediscovered Bloomsbury and the area of Saint Pancras.

We found a special playground called Coram’s Fields

As I was looking for a playground to keep him busy, I walked along and I came across my old university!

I was so nostalgic! I was studying there for my teaching training at around the same time I met Grumpy Boyfriend! Indeed, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary next year and I felt so old!

He loved the place! We will have to come back

But I also realised how lucky I was. And how far we have come together as a team!

Oops! Sorry for the soppy bit but it was a shock to think about my 25 years-old moi 🙂

Never mind! We had a fab night in town!

A Night At The Pullman London St Pancras Hotel

Indeed! We stayed at the beautiful Pullman London St Pancras Hotel and we had a blast!

Baba loved his own bed!

You should have seen Baba jumping on his bed! The tiny Frenchie was well excited to stay at the hotel!

He knew he was in a special place!

Baba is for sure living his best life! With ice cream for dinner and some amazing doughnut au petit-déjeuner!

We also had some yummy food!

Also eager to pose for the camera, he enjoyed the décor...

Jersey Holiday

To finish the month en beauté, we had a mini-break in Jersey.

I will soon write a dedicated post, but I still want to share some snaps here.

The trip involved a lot of days out!

I had never been but I must say that the island is worth a visit! I don’t know why but I imagined it would be less active!

There is so much to do and see! And if you fancy to only relax, you can do that too! It is peaceful in some places.

First time at a lavender field and it was so pretty…

But we had a proper family holiday: lavender farm, playground, seaside, zoo… And way more! We did it all! I even went shopping and I bought some clothes. They were all real bargains!

I also bought some clothes in the sales

And the best thing? I totally switched off! No blog, no Instagram, no phone! It is not often I do so and I feel so much refreshed!

A Slower Life

Do you also totally switch off when you are on holidays? It is so good and I didn’t even feel guilty about it! Even better, I carried it on as it was my birthday weekend when we came back home!

And it feels so good!

When you have such a view, you don’t want to use your phone

July will be remembered for its family times and a lovely break in Jersey!

Because sometimes, it is just good to stop and enjoy simple things…

Ice creams and cute toddler are what I want more often in my life 🙂

Have you slowed it down too? Or will you take a big break in August instead?

Thanks again for reading my monthly highlights! I hope you had a lovely month. May your Summer be full of adventures and some great family times like those ones!

See you next month with more sunny pics!

Disclosure: This post features some sponsored content I published this month but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post for me to remember what we have been up to!

You had a good month despite it starting off quietly. Jersey is a lovely place to visit. We enjoyed the sights and took boat trips to a couple of the other islands. Look forward to reading a full post about it soon.
