So the Brits love France, its culture, its food, its people… But l‘Hexagone as we call it, is not all about Paris and the Eiffel Tower. You can have such a beautiful time outside la capitale. So if you like exploring and walking like us, here are 4 national parks in France that you must visit. Enjoy France’s natural beauty and wonders.
Parc National des Écrins
The Parc National des Ecrins in the French Alps is un réel paradis for climbers and hikers.
Nestled in nature, the majestic green area is quite something thanks to its 150 summits!
Made of over 700 kilometres of hiking trails, with difficulty levels suitable for beginners and veterans alike, it’s a beautiful challenge to take if you are an outdoors enthusiast.
Parfait for wildlife-watching all year round, just take a deep breath and enjoy the of dramatic glaciers and humbling valleys. Quelle vue!
Parc National de la Vanoise
Le Parc National de la Vanoise is another fav for hikers thanks to its fameuse biodiversité.
Also located in les Alpes, it’s considered a réel trésor of the Savoie region. The wildlife there is pretty incredible as you will find such a variété of animals: from ibex, marmots to golden eagles… There is something for everyone and it is such a lovely way for children to learn about wildlife.
Le plus? It has many family-friendly hiking trails through spectacular mountain scenery. If you’re a nature lover looking to explore the French Alps on your tours of Europe, this is the place to go.
Parc National des Calanques
Fancy more a walk along the coast? Then I have la place parfaite for you. Indeed, le Parc National des Calanques near Marseille is absolutely gorgeous thanks to its combination of rugged limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and hidden coves.
It’s a true coastal treasure where you can enjoy many water sports as well as walking.
What a beautiful Mediterranean escape! It’s like being in a movie!
Parc National des Cévennes
I decided to include the Parc National des Cévennes in this post because it isa UNESCO biosphere reserve that is truly a must-see once in a lifetime.
C’est place idéale if you want to escape the crowds. Plus, the area offers a rich visual, cultural and educational experience.
It’s actually part of a UNESCO programme to preserve and promote biodiversity and sustainability, and its limestone formations, caves, medieval villages and dense woodlands are well worth protecting.
Now that would be such une expérience différente! Have a look on its website and it will take your breath away. So imagine actually being there…
