Bonjour lecteurs! Our Instagram stories last week while we were staying at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne proved to be very popular. So I thought you would like to see more about our stay. I must admit that we would easily book a room in such a hotel for a romantic getaway. But actually, the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is very family-friendly too! Let me show you!
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is the only 5-star seaside resort hotel in England. Described as ‘The White Palace’, you can not miss it on the town’s seafront.
Indeed, its magnificent property has a prime spot on King Edward’s Parade. With its 152 beautiful bedrooms (many with sea views), and its 2 award-winning restaurants, the Grand Eastbourne is the most luxurious hotel on the south-east coast.
It also includes an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools as well as a spa for beauty treatments.
But not only! During our stay, we also discovered its OFSTED approved playroom!
Arrivée
We arrived at the hotel on a rainy and windy afternoon. After braving the weather in Brighton, it was nice to be in! Our bags and our car were taken care of while we checked in.
Baba was in for a treat within minutes!
Indeed, thanks to the Junior Crew Membership that the hotel offers, he received a gift bag on arrival.
We sat in the luminous and spacious lounge with drinks to relax a bit.
And my favourite Frenchie enjoyed some milk and a cookie!
The tone was set! The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne makes sure that its customers are at ease and nothing is too good for them! Who would not love a bit of luxury, even when you are 4 years old?
Our Junior Suite
I did many stories to document our room during our visit. Have a look at my highlight ‘Grand Eastbourne’ for more.
But it must be said that our junior suite was stunning! We have stayed in many luxury hotels in the past but this is by far the best suite we have ever had!
Made of two spacious bedrooms as well as a living-room area and a bathroom, it was amazing!
Very luminous too despite the weather outside thanks to its many large windows.
You get treated with some food at your arrival and the reception called us within minutes to check we were happy with our room!
The customer service was impeccable! And it had been so during our entire stay I must say!
The lounge area was very nice to relax and it was lovely to feel like at home. The whole suite very much looked like a mini-flat.
The decor was neutral and of very good taste.
Baba loved having his own room (and even his own desk!) while I could not resist the Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. It is always my soft spot!
We were quick to make ourselves at home and decided to have a look around!
L’atmosphère
Indeed, we were eager to explore further. The weather was terrible outside but we still kept busy!
The hotel is very pretty and full of well-maintained corridors. Idéal for some impromptu photos but also to dream…
The life of a prince!
Once more, the staff was eager to help and we were very comfortable!
We enjoyed the pool, that for the occasion has extended kids’ hours. So handy when there is a storm taking place outside!
Despite it being half-term, it was not as busy as we expected and we managed to have a great time!
We also visited the playroom with its many toys and two members of staff! Impressive!
Food At the Grand Eastbourne
Because we had a family dining package, we also enjoyed dinner at the hotel. Staying with a child in this kind of places always worries me un peu.
Baba is used to be sociable and he has been pretty much everywhere with us since he was born. He is also generally well behaved in such environment.
But I am aware that other guests might not want to have dinner with children around.
Once more, the hotel had it sorted! Indeed, we were seated in a family room with a special buffet. Quelle bonne idée!
We could relax and not worry about the kids-free guests!
And the food was lovely too! All the dishes were homemade and the choice was varied!
We had a peaceful dinner! Délicieux!
Le petit-déjeuner in the morning was scrumptious too! So much choice!
Fruit, pastries and other treats were au rendez-vous while enjoying a lovely view of a side garden.
It was like being in Downtown Abbey. And me to dream I was a lady bien sûr!
Kids Facilities
You know I am always honnête with you. Well, I have never thought of Eastbourne for a family holiday!
But we decided to go to the seafront for a little walk and it was really nice! I never realised that the town had such a big beach!
And quite frankly, the Grand Hotel has so much to keep the little ones busy, you could easily spend all day and relax within its premises.
Baba even had his own robe and slippers to enjoy the pool! It was so sweet!
I very much believe that places like the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne could be overlooked as a family break but it is such a good option!
We even played table tennis and we had so much fun!
We had a very pleasant time during our stay! We actually visited other similar accommodations in the past and equally had a lovely time as a couple. But the Elite Hotels group is parfait for families!
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne – Le Verdict
I can not honestly find any complaints about the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
If anything, we truly had an AMAZING time there! It was l’hôtel parfait to stay during a rainy half-term.
Everything is carefully planned so that you and your children have the best time possible.
The room was very spacious and we always felt like we were taken care of.
The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is very family-friendly. The Victorian landmark is truly beautiful and we really felt like kings and queens during our stay.
We have visited many luxury hotels in the past but this was our best experience so far!
The only little downside was the WIFI at times in our room. But then again, I did not mind at all and it was actually l’excuse parfaite for both Grumpy Boyfriend and I to switch off!
I must say that I was un peu worried to have to entertain Baba when it was raining non-stop. But it was such a good way to have a break and keep Baba occupied.
I barely had to do anything for two days except enjoying myself and not worry about work! I felt refreshed and so happy to have spent such a lovely time with my boys.
And you?
If you fancy a break or something spécial either as a couple or even with your family, we could not recommend it more.
The hotel even offers some special spring packages starting at £75.
And you can also enjoy an Afternoon Tea if you fancy. A great idée for Mother’s Day if you want my opinion! Celebrate it in in style in this wonderfully traditional place!
Whatever you go for, you will be in for a treat! I promise!
What was the most extravagant or the best hotel you have ever stayed?
Disclosure: We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne for free in exchange for an honest opinion. With a spécial merci to the hotel for inviting us. We truly had a tremendous time.
