Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner Review

Bonjour lecteurs! What a beautiful Bank Holiday Weekend! I bet you made the most of it, going out with friends and family? But I reckon many of you also did a bit of Spring clean? If so, check out now my new Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner Review. The brand kindly sent me the beautiful machine to test and here is what I made of it!

Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner

Do you have a lot of carpets in your home? Then the Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner might be your next buy!

It’s basically the best ever carpet washer by Vax! With its generation motion Sense technology, it is to kill 99% of bacteria and leave your carpets clean and as new looking as possible!

The Vax Platinum SmartWash is actually the UK’s first carpet washer with such technology, so I was pretty excited to test it last week!

Basically, the clever machine doesn’t need any trigger to work and it automatically washes and dispenses clean water and Vax Antibacterial solution when you push it forward. And when you pull it back, it dries your floor! For easy and effective use!

First Impressions

As soon as the VAX asked me to tested its most performant ‘baby’, I said ‘oui!’. About 80% of our house is made of beige carpet and with a toddler in town, there are always some spills and marks!

Baba was well excited too when the parcel arrived. I was actually surprised by the Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner’s size. I expected it to be bulkier. But it is only 107 cm high and 48 cm large. So we can store it easily!

The full set includes a Carpet Washer (the main body), 1 pre-treatment solution, a hose, an accessories bag for specific cleaning surfaces, and 2 bottles of Platinium Solution.

Thanks to the booklet, it was super easy to put it together! I usually hate assembling things and always leave it to Grumpy Boyfriend to sort it out. But I did it all on my own in 5 minutes!

First good point! It was all ready to go super quickly! The pieces are strong and it also comes with a 6-year guarantee.

Using it On the Carpet

I took it to the test straight away and I was happily surprised to see how easy it was to manoeuvre. Sérieusement, the generation motion sense technology made its magic straight away.

The machine was quick to collect dirty water in the bottom tank.

There was no leak and the carpet looks immediately brighter and cleaner too!

I managed to do our living room on my own and it is quite a spacious room! Move it forward and it washes your carpet, move it backward and it automatically absorbs the water and dries it all!

It’s actually super powerful! And the best? It’s effortless! My carpet was left clean and pretty dry compared to other similar products on the market! And The SmartWash can also be used on carpet tiles that you can buy at Carpet Tile Wholesale par exemple.

Sofa Too!

It was a réel succés. So feeling confident, I moved straight away onto the sofa to give it a clean.

I clipped the hose without any problème and we were set to go! It’s so painful when you buy an appliance and it feels like a puzzle to put it all together!

I used one of the hand tools for a targeted clean and encore, no effort required to give my sofa a revamp!

There was also a dark mark on the floor I never managed to take off with home detergents and it was gone in a few minutes with the bit.

Usually, it would take some hard brushing (and potentially a broken nail!), but that was easy peasy!

Maintenance

Un autre plus with the Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner? It is so easy to clean! You literally pull off the tanks et voilà!

And to clean the brushbars, simply lift them out and rinse!

Everything is so much simpler than other appliances I used in the past!

I let it dry and it is now all packed for the next use!

Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner Review – Le Verdict

I am SO IMPRESSED with the Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner! Not only it is super effective, but it’s also so easy to use! It’s quite light so that you can manoeuvre it without any difficulté!

It took off any mark I had on the floor and my carpets look fresh and nice.

I love how easy it is to put together and pull apart to clean. It does not take too much space to store in the garage.

And more importantly, it is so powerful!

One thing to remember. Slide the carpet cleaner slowly on the surface for it to really clean deeply. When I started, I tended to go too fast going forward and backward and it left some stains. But once I got the hang of it, it was better.

The Cost

The Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner is quite pricey at a recommended retail price of £299.99.

It is obviously not cheap. But as a point of comparison, it would usually cost me more than £100 when I got my carpets professionally cleaned in the past. And that was in our London flat with only two bedrooms and half the space! I reckon a full professional carpet cleaning for this house would easily approach £200!

So for £299.99, I would rather buy a Vax Platinum SmartWash Carpet Cleaner.

So if you have a lot of carpets in your home, it is worth the investment in my opinion. We have a beige carpet all over the house.

I will definitely use my new gadget once or twice a year. And also on the odd occasion when we spill something on the floor!
