Bonjour lecteurs! If you have been following my adventures at the Frenchie Mummy for a while, you would not know that we love discovering new places. Last year during one of our Autumnal walks, we discovered The Flackley Ash Hotel. The charming country house hotel in Peamarsh is the perfect location if you are exploring Sussex and particularly Hastings or Rye.
The Flackley Ash Hotel
The Flackley Ash Hotel is a family-run Georgian country house hotel right outside Rye.
Located in the heart of the Sussex country, you are in for some relaxing time with its beautiful back garden to explore.
We love discovering new places near us and it did not disappoint when we stayed there last week.
En plus, we certainly made the most of its beautiful spa and leisure club.
Our Arrival
As soon as we arrived, we fell in love with the main building and the grounds.
It literally looks like a location to shoot Bridgerton with the sumptuous Georgian house.
It was easy to park and we started discovering the back garden via the huge conservatory.
The hotel has it all to charm you with flowers and butterflies flying around. We sat in the sun and enjoyed a drink in the peaceful garden.
Such a great start!
Our Frenchie Junior Suite
Lucky us! To accommodate our famille, we got a Junior Suite made of one main bedroom with a king-size bed and a family en-suite.
Stanley was very pleased with the second room as he had a bed corner sofa just for himself. He put Netflix on et voilà!
The room was très spacieuse and j’ai adoré the view of the nearest farm.
It was just pure bliss to sit down with a glass of rosé looking at such a beautiful landscape.
The Spa & Leisure Club
The spa and leisure club were also great for unwinding.
Stanley certainly made the most of it, in the swimming pool and the hot tub. There are not many chairs and it was quite busy as it was the holidays.
But it did not stop us relax and I even managed to swim a couple of lanes.
I also got to enjoy a full-body massage, which was such a treat. I had not had one for so long, so it was much needed.
The beauty rooms are subtly decorated for a truly relaxing atmosphere. I felt at peace as soon as I arrived.
Dinner at the Flackley Ash Hotel
After a walk dans le village, we decided to have le dîner at the hotel and make the most of the charming grounds.
A local group had a party booked. It’s pretty clear that the Flackley Ash Hotel is THE place to be in the area.
Despite it being busy, the service was efficient and our food was délicieuse.
I ordered the risotto (which was a succés!) and Grumpy Boyfriend went for the chicken.
We had a lovely time while Stanley did some painting and he loved his fish fingers and chips.
What a beautiful evening in the country with my family!
Le Petit-Déjeuner
We were ready to go to bed, reading and relaxing in our huge room.
The next day, after a quick swim in the pool, we enjoyed un savoureux petit-déjeuner.
Obviously, Stanley went for the pancakes and I ordered some Eggs Royale, mon préféré when we are away.
We needed some fuel as a full day of adventures was ahead of us.
A Day in Rye
After a lovely night at the Flackley Ash Hotel, direction Rye. We love this ville historique.
We always stop by the playground at the bottom of the hill, before heading up to the Ypres Tower.
We walked around the cobbled lanes like Mermaid Street, admiring the half-timbered houses.
Unfortunately, Lamb House was closed but it’s only a matter of time before we check it out again as we have a National Trust membership.
Instead, I went vintage shopping while the boys stopped by the bakery for a cherry croissant.
The Flackley Ash Hotel – Le Verdict
The Flackley Ash Hotel is truly a charming country house hotel.
We absolutely LOVE the area and I could not recommend you stop Peamarsh or even Wittersham for an autumnal walk.
Don’t forget to stop by the hotel for a drink in the back garden or in the conservatory. You will fall in love with the beautiful Georgian House and its grounds.
Fancy a proper break in the area to discover some of the most historic towns in the country like Hastings and Rye? Then, book a night now at the Flackley Ash Hotel.
We had a lovely time during our stay. Our room was spacious and we really liked the spa to play and unwind a bit.
I love nothing more than a place like this. It’s a typical British country hotel with great amenities for you to relax.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with the Flackley Ash Hotel. We received a complimentary stay. All opinions are my own.
Bright and vibrant with lovely food – somewhere I’d love to visit too
What a lovely place to stay, the size of those fish fingers for Stanley’s dinner WOW!
Sounds like a great stay!
It looks like such a beautifule area and their food looks amazing!
Looks like you have discovered another little gem of a break!
Particularly loving Stanleys sandals too!
Looks amazing, so relaxing too x
Another lovely place to visit and stay. Clearly a place to enjoy and relax in
Rye looks like a really pretty place to visit. I would have to start researching soon as I love walking down cobbled lanes appreciating old architecture like that. The hotel is also stunning. You’re lucky to have gone during sunny weather to have appreciated all the lovely gardens in it. I would have fought for that corner sofa bed. Looks super cosy, haha
A dreamy place to stay and relax
