Bonjour lecteurs! September 2021 has been such a productive month! After a lovely summer with the boys and many adventures, it was time to get back to business! How was it for you to return to routines? Do your little ones like their new teacher? All our Frenchie adventures are in our last monthly highlights here!
Back To School & Beach
And just like that, the summer break was officially over. Baba started in year 1 with a new teacher and new school routines to follow.
He seems to have settled in nicely and he loves his new teacher. Happy days!
I made it a habit to do some extra learning with him after school.
But when the days were sunnier (yes, it happened at the start of September!), we headed to the beach 🏖
Country Adventures
And the following week, we carried on our adventures in the country with more walks.
I found so many new lovely places on my bike, I wanted to come back with the boys.
When not out and about, we made the most of a hot tube à la maison.
Autumn was getting ready slowly. There is nothing better than getting some fresh air to start the day.
We also went to the beautiful Belmont House for its annual Woodest Festival.
Among nature (and alpacas!), we enjoyed some woodcrafts and more.
Finding Harmony
It was really busy with work as I got more projects.
So I also took the time to slow down. Trying to reach 10K steps a day.
It keeps my mind relaxed and also find extra inspiration when needed.
How often do you go for a walk? I try to do it each morning after the school drop-off.
One of my fave routes in September 2021 has to be one next to Lympne Castle.
To Grumpy Boyfriend’s despair, there was a wedding fair 🤣 He is totally allergic to the shebang!
Fairytales
But Stanley pretended to be a knight, so he loves it!
It was so exciting for him he is currently learning all about fairytales at school.
So une visite au château was mre than appropriate for the occasion.
My own conte de fée? I got to see the Van Gogh Immersive Experience and it was absolutely AMAZING. I really recommend booking your tickets if you are yet to see it.
One of the best exhibitions I have seen in a long time!
Immersive Gatsby
I also had a night out in London with Grumpy Boyfriend to see the beautiful Immersive Gatsby.
It was so good to be back in London.
And to enjoy some cocktails in our beloved Mayfair cocktail bar.
But we had a bad surprise coming back home on Saturday. The petrol panic buying started off on Friday night and we really struggle to find some to get home…
But The Show Must Go On
But we made it eventually! Yet to be sorted out as I type those words…
Not that it stopped me to enjoy a really good spa day at the Granary Spa.
I actually cycled there. Another part of Ashford I want to explore more on my bike when the weather is getting sunnier.
Such a relaxing massage! I needed it as I tend to spend a lot of time on my laptop or my phone.
Not great for my posture.
September 2021 – Back To Business
September 2021 was such a succés.
Because I planned carefully our weekends, I felt more organisée.
I feel I was more productive. Now reflecting back on September 2021, I realised that I have a better-balanced lifestyle.
Thanks to my freelance job, I get to work around my family. I have found the right harmony with my schedule.
Literally, I am buzzing at the minute despite the weather being miserable and the petrol crisis not being over.
I hope you also got to get back to business and your routines are now back in full swing?
Are you looking forward to Autumn? What are your plans over half-term?
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures.
Wow you have had so many fantstic adventures ,I look forward to seeing what you do in the Autumn!
Beautiful read – fairy tales will continue forever
We are having a few nights away
My children are enjoying being back in school apart from Charlie my son having a constant cold !
You certainly had a wonderful summer, so much packed in such a variety of places to visit and things to do .
I love all the autumnal colors. I live overlooking a park with a conker tree just outside my window and enjoy watching the squirrels gather up the conkers and stash them away ready for winter.
I wish i had more motivation to try and reach 10k a day, i go through phases of being really motivated and then soooo lazy! x
Some beautiful photographs.
Looks like you had lots of fun
Looks like you both had a wonderful summer holidays!
