Bonjour lecteurs! Time to write my monthly highlights post. July 2021 was all about spending quality time with the boys. We made the most of sunny days with many beach trips. But we also enjoyed socialising again. We had so many nice treats, both as a family but also as a couple. It was much overdue for me and Grumpy Boyfriend to do so ?
Walks And Nature
The start of July 2021 was full of walks and adventures in the country.
We went to many hidden gems for some shoots, but Stanley also had a good dose of local playgrounds.
Any excuse to get some exercise while the sun was shining. Plus, I could feel his excitement about breaking up soon too.
Family & Shopping
But we also caught up with our family and friends. It was all about getting some food and enjoying their company.
Simple things are the best. En plus, I could show off all my new summer dresses. It was about time!
I had a little shopping spree at the Ashford Designer Outlet with a friend and it was pure bliss to get some downtime before Stanley finished school.
My Marie and Lola dress got a lot of attention and so did my new Sandro Summer dress.
Beach Days!
And for a bit more of fashion, I also got to wear some new outfits à la plage.
Stanley went on a beach trip with his school and he absolutely LOVED it.
As soon as we had a heatwave, we headed off to Greatstone.
And after school, we also made it to Dymchurch a couple of times. With such summer holiday vibes, we had to!
Sports Day & Tenterden
And to end the school year en beauté, Stanley had a fabulous Sports Day. I am so proud of him!
He did really well on the occasion and got home with two ribbons!
My little guy might actually be a bit sportier than Maman and Papa LOL!
Mind you, shopping is a full-time sport right?!
What the Ladybird Heard at the Palace Theatre
We also packed in a day out in London. We went to see What the Ladybird Heard.
We LOVED it! We are huge fans of the storybook, so Stanley was super excited. The musical adaption is so sweet and so well produced!
Book your tickets now. The show is on all summer at the Palace Theatre and will go on tour around the country after that.
To make the day even more magical, we had a gorgeous Ladurée Afternoon Tea at the pop-up in the Burlington Arcade.
After a bit of shopping at Fortnum & Mason, we made it home on the train. What a fabulous day in London!
Beautiful Kent
And after many other beach trips and walks, I had a romantic weekend with my Grumpy Boyfriend.
For the occasion, we enjoyed a picnic with Gusbourne Wines. It was so pretty on the hill.
Don’t forget to enter my giveaway Win a Picnic For Two With Gusbourne Wines worth £80!
And just like this, it was officiellement the Summer holiday!!
Can you believe Stanley did a full year at school! He had a very good end-of-year report and I am so proud of all his progress. After many months of homeschooling and all the lockdowns, I was so worried about it all.
There have been many doubts and tears, but it looks like we are not doing a bad job at that parenting thing ?
I can not believe he is about to start Year 1 in September! He is so excited to meet his new teacher! And we are ready: bags, pens, uniform… We got it all.
Barracudas Camp
As soon as it was over, Stanley got to have fun again at our local Barracudas Camp. The Summer camps are parfaits for busy parents during the holidays.
He had a blast as always and meanwhile, Grumpy Boyfriend and I enjoyed another Afternoon Tea at the Broome Park Hotel.
It was an overdue Xmas present we never got to enjoy and it was lovely.
Leeds Castle & Ashford
The same week, we made it to Leeds Castle again for another local adventure.
Au programme, a picnic, and a lot of playtime at the Knights’ Stronghold Playground.
We also made it to Victoria Park to test your new Micro Scooter and a bit of shopping in Ashford.
You can win your very own Team GB Sprite Micro Scooter Worth £132 here.
Et voilà! July was over with my birthday coming up on the 1st of August.
July 2021 – Beach Days And Socialising Again
June 2021 had been a reel emotional rollercoaster for me and I was a hit anxious about what July 2021 would look like.
But it has been a very beautiful month overall. I got to make so many memories with the boys.
More importantly, it felt amazing to be socialising again. I think I have been really missing all of its aspects over the last few months.
Catching up with our family and friends was just what I needed to feel happy. I have also been mindful as much as possible.
I am easily unsatisfied, and being a perfectionist, I sometimes struggle to let it go. But letting go of things I can not control made a huge difference to my well-being.
And it has had a very positive impact on both my couple and my family overall. Bring it on August and September!
Whatever is next for us (potentially another lockdown this Winter?), I am ready to face it!
And I hope you are too! So time to recharge over the summer. Make the most of it, enjoy every single minute of the fun times.
And embrace challenges aussi. They will always teach you a lesson and will make you stronger. Cliché but true!
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country. I hope it will help you to reflect too and you get empowered to get a harmonic work-life balance!
A great summer for you all, plenty of variety with your days out and overnight stays. Stanley has certainly enjoyed his holidays.
Glad you are enjoying life again. We are still a little wary but starting to gain a little confidence
I intend to make the most of every precious moment too
It’s so nice to be able to get out and about again and being able to browse shops
