I usually love sharing family-friendly experiences, but last month, I made it to Central Dalmatia with More Sailing, and it was pretty epic! Now, I am not the sportiest lady, but who can say no to such wonderful adventure, kids free, exploring some picturesque islands? Whether you fancy a solo trip or even some family adventure, here is my More Sailing Review. Go on, get tempted with some sunshine on a catamaran.
More Sailing – Le Concept
More Sailing offers all inclusive sailing trips across The Méditerranée and The Caribbean. Have you ever been on a catamaran, sailing with a skipper and a host looking after you, waking up to endless horizon?
While you relax and travel with style (it gives such James Bon vibes if you want my opinion…), it’s all sorted out for you. From planning the route, to cooking and sailing, the team has it all on board for you to enjoy your holiday and pretend this is your usual lifestyle (one can dream!).
Arriving in Trogir
I am not very nautical, but I do like a bit of adventures (and some free time away from the boys). So off I jetted to Split Airport, where the More Sailing team was waiting for me. Direction Trogir, “The Stone Beauty”, otherwise nicknamed “The Little Venice of Dalmatia“.
As soon as I arrived at the marina, I was wowed by the numerous More Sailing catamarans along the bay. As I walked along, I was greeted by the skipper Noah and our host Axel. Most of the crewmates (solo bloggers and journalists avid of some sunshine), were already onboard, sipping on some wine with nibbles.
‘Good start’, I thought. They already knew how to talk to my heart. The boys helped me getting on the boat and I was greeting everyone with a national French bisou on the cheeks. One on each side s’il-vous-plaît!
Our Catamaran – The Moonshadow
Having never been on a yacht before, I must admit that I was a bit nerveuse. You see, I am usually all about luxury and I was dreading any lack of space.
Quelle surprise! I admit, I browsed many Youtube videos to see what being on a Lagoon catamaran would be like. But the Moonshadow was such a treat! The 51-foot luxury cruiser looked way bigger than I expected. As you came through the swim platform, there was a large dining area along a kitchenette.
On each side, there were 2 double & 2 single cabins, so it fits up to 10 people. I knew the space would be limité, so I packed light (trust me, it’s une réelle torture for me). But I must say that I was very impressed with the room available. Fresh duvets and towels were awaiting on each bed. Plus, we even had our individual showroom, with plenty of storage to put my toileteries. As I was traveling solo, I had to share a cabin. But I got paired with Megan and we had the most fun!
Overall, the boat felt huge. In between the flybridge, the deck and the trampoline (not like in your garden… It’s the woven mesh part at the front), there were so much space to roam about.
Sailing Across Central Dalmatia
Not easy to let it go when you are usually in charge of a tribe. Only this time, our Swedish host and skipper were in charge and it felt a bit weird to be babysat for a few days. Not easy to let it go as busy mama (actually, I really enjoyed it…).
Noah set nautical ground rules and we were off to our first destination, a small cove off the Croatian coast. Le capitaine was in charge (and how sérieux et professionnel!), so I was set to relax with everyone else.
While the boys were on the flybridge, chatting about sailing, we made ourselves comfortable on the deck to enjoy the view with more drinks. Quelle belle vie!
The Swedish Way of Life
The rest of the next few days looked like a dream. As we were docking in the middle of small Croatian islands, we just took it easy.
Everything was done to make us feel like at home. More Sailing is a Swedish company and it truly lives by the principle of “Lagom”. Think exceptional work-life balance, take time to rest & deep connection with Nature.
I would not call sailing with More Sailing une experience minimaliste because it always felt so luxurious. But I truly enjoyed reconnecting with our environment and the natural beauties around us.
From swimming in the most beautiful turquoise lagoon to savouring daily delicious food, Axel and Noah knew how to make us comfortable at all times. I had such a laugh with everyone on board.
En plus, travelling from islands to nearby villages, I even bumped into a new friend I just made in the Algarve! How enchanting!
Hvar, Jelsa & Maslinica
Now, I’ve previously been to Split and explored places such as Brač and Hvar, so I thought that this sailing trip would not be all new. Quelle erreur! I found some of the most beautiful gems in the area.
Jelsa for a start was a picturesque dream despite a bit of rain. After walking to the church, high on the hill, it was pure bliss to carry on along marina, overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
Axel and Noah also recommended a great Mojito bar, so we had to check it out.
During our adventures, I also fell in love with Maslinica. Once anchored in the bay, Noah transported us to land via the dinghy to a nearby restaurant.
As he was taking over the rest of the group, it felt like we were on a James Bond movie set from the 70s. It was just magical! I wish Roger Moore could have joined us for a fun night…
The day after, we decided to explore the beautiful coastal town and it did not disappoint. For the occasion, I put on my most beautiful summer dress, matching the tone of this holiday and walked around the place like it belonged to me.
More Sailing – A Luxury Escape
It was quite unreal to wander what looked like a millionaire’s playground.
Indeed, The Martinis Marchi Hotel (a 300-year-old castle!) and all the luxury yachts docked on the marina made their effect.
But we also loved the local houses, filled with beautiful flowers and a few cats begging for attention.
Oh and to get our very own 51-foot luxury cruiser coming to pick us up directly at the marina instead of walking back to the other side of the village was also quite something.
This is not your everyday life…
Food On Board
Now, I can not write a More Sailing Review without mentioning the food we had on board.
From le petit-déjeuner to endless snacks (one in the morning, another one in the later afternoon), it felt like I was on a boat with endless apéritif time.
Not that I complain, it was ludicrously délicieux!
We even had Croatian croissants one day. They were not as good as the French ones (sorry!), but how lovely from our host to pick them up from the local bakery for us.
From cheese boards to traditional Croatian and Swedish specialities (I tried chokladbollar for the first time), Axel really spoiled us!
But I also enjoyed the occasional ice cream when on land.
More Sailing – Le Verdict
Does More Sailing offer the whole package with its sailing trip across Croatia? I would say so.
I am not naturellement a nautical gal, but this trip with More Sailing ticked all the boxes. Our yacht was very spacious and we had all the comfort we needed, including hot water and internet, plus charging power when ashore.
It’s a true stress-free holiday. You can get involved with the sailing as much as you want. I was just happy to sit and relax with a good glass of wine. But I reckon both Grumpy Boyfriend and Stanley would give this a go and help out around the boat. My cabin was comfortable and quite spacious.
But more importantly, I had a blast with a great bunch of people (it includes our Swedish skipper and host), while discovering some beautiful gems on the Croatian coast. From unheard coastal villages, secluded coves and sandy beaches, it truly felt like a dream at times.
Whether you fancy a solo trip or a family-friendly escape in natural beauty, this is one experience to do once in a lifetime.

The perks of your full time job, beautiful and awe-inspiring. Unfortunately I am not their (target) typical client. Living in the Midwest (US) and my husband a farmer and a full time construction superintendent, I am not able to convince him to take time away from daily life. However, seeing the More Sailing thru your experience was delightful. Seeing the clear turquoise water was just so calming.
