May 2021 – Going Out Again & Mini Break in Dorset

Bonjour lecteurs! It is time for me to reflect on what we have been up to over the last weeks or so. May 2021 was my best month ever. And I am sure you probably felt the same! Indeed, with the restrictions lifted, we could see more of our family and loved ones. But we also had a beautiful mini Break in Dorset! I share it all in my last monthly highlights post. Et voilà!

Bank Holiday Weekend

May 2021 started with a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. We caught up with our family as you could eat out in pubs.

It was rather cold, but we find a little gem close by Grumpy Grandad. With blankets and a heater for an alfresco dinner, while Baba was playing with local children. Living in the country and its perks!!!

But we also had another walk around Tenterden. If you visit the area, I recommend stopping by this rural town.

It is so pretty and we absolutely LOVE its big playground! We often stop by and Stanley always has a blast!

More Local Adventure!

We had another adventure in a village local to us and it felt absolutely amazing ?

I have discovered this beautiful place earlier this year on my bike. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to come back there with the boys.

And what a beauty! We went up the hill to burn some extra calories and reached the main street on a cloudy but dry day.

To our surprise, the local pub was opened, so we stopped by for a drink!

Home & Country

The rest of the month was simply me, working from home. I had a couple of exciting collaborations and Grumpy helped me with my shoots.

And I also launched my Blog Anniversary Giveaways! Have a look now on my competition page for hundreds of pounds worth of prizes!

Grumpy Boyfriend is becoming officially my photographe these days!

And he did such a good job when we stopped by a rapeseed field after school! I think the French word champ de colza is way more romantic!

Isn’t it beautiful?! We had so many stunning champs de colza in our area! I saw many others on my bike and it is always so beautiful!

Spa Day & London Baby!

Did you make the most of it when the restrictions got lifted?

I had such a lovely Spa Day At Eastwell Manor and it was so relaxing.

First time in a pool for over 6 months, so it was definitely worth a visit! If you fancy booking a little treat in Kent, I really recommend Eastwell Manor.

And to top it all up, I also had a romantic day out in London with Grumpy Boyfriend! We caught up with some friends!

Covent Garden was still looking magical despite being less busy and it felt good to be back in town. It was un peu étrange but good too to see some old faces in real ?

Half-Term Fun!

Then Stanley started half-term a week earlier. I think the school closes a week ahead so all the teachers have a group of Inset days before the break.

So a fortnight off for the babe! I booked us a little holiday in Dorset for the occasion. It was so pretty!

The Pavilion Arms in Bournemouth was simply parfait!

And we even had a beautiful day, we spent it at the famous beach!

I got sunburnt, bien sûr… But we had so much fun, visiting the local area.

I reckon many of us will have a staycation in the UK this Summer, given the circumstances. Well, I say book it now! It was so good! We loved Christchurch.

Another Bank Holiday

And just like that, it was the end of the month with another Bank Holiday weekend.

This time, we spent it with Nanny S. We went for a pub lunch at one of our locals, the Woolpack Inn, for some cheeky Pimm’s for moi!

May 2021 – Make The Most of It!

Now I reflect on May 2021, it was such a mois fabuleux!

May 2021, Monthly Highlights, Life in Kent, Kent Villages, Family Walk, The Frenchie Mummy, Family Days Out, Kent Villages

I did not realise it before, but we seem to make the most of everything, whatever life brings us. Take the lockdown par exemple, we always made sure to make the most of what we had on our doorsteps to keep Stanley busy.

And we did the same last month. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I badly hurt my leg during our trip to Dorset. So I had to cancel many days out. I could barely walk.

To be honest, it was such as disappointment. I actually felt like I left Stanley down. We organised a full day out in London and we could not make it. I felt a bit like a failure.

But actually, now I look back at our photos from May 2021, the little one had it pretty good, right?!

Moral of the story: make the most of it. Life will always throw some stuff at you. It’s down to you to conquer it and still enjoy what you can get out of life! There is always something to celebrate, in whatever life brings you!

Did you also make good memories with your family in May? Did you go out more? What was your fave memory?

And yes, from now on, no more Baba but Stanley! I have decided to call Baba with his real name on my channels from now on ?

Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country. I hope it will help you to reflect too and you get empowered to get a harmonic work-life balance!

Agree it is so great to get back in the swimming pool after such a long break due to covid. I am registered disabled and about the only exercise I can do is swimming, missed it so much! So I spent most of May back in the local pool!
