Bonjour lecteurs! If you were to give your home a nickname, what would you call it? We have named our own house the Frenchie Cottage. It’s a dream I had for a long time and when we bought our first place back in 2018, I was quick to get a sign. Bizarre? Not really 🙂 I feel that it gives our home a personalised touch. We recently stayed at the Shell House in Bournemouth. I must say it’s the perfect name for this holiday rental.
The Shell House
The Shell House is a luxury contemporary holiday house that can accomodate up to 14 people.
Not only the renovated terraced house is decorated with style (and with lots of shells!), but it makes the perfect pied-Ă -terre for you and your family if you fancy a weekend in Dorset.
Fancy a break by the sea? Then book now the Shell House.
It makes a beautiful option for parties, hen weekends, or family reunions.
Even better, it’s only a 5-minute walk from the famous Bournemouth Beach and close to bars and restaurants.
It’s beautifully decorated with elegant touches and lots of pink and girlie vibes. Regardez!
A Familial Living Space
As soon as we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat with a comfortable living-room on the right.
Made of two large comfy sofas, it makes un espace agréable for you to catch up with your loved ones.
Fancy a bit of intimité? Then close the stylish blinds and watch a movie.
As we stayed over Halloween, we sat comfortably around a glass of wine for me and some snacks for Stanley. We watched Harry Potter and it was so cosy and relaxing.
Open Plan Kitchen
Keep walking down the corridor and you will find a beautiful cuisine with everything you need to prepare all their favourite meals.
I dream of an island like this, cooking while talking with my boys.
How stylish is this space? There was nothing missing from plates to different utensils and lots of glasses!
The Shell House is made for parties and gatherings with all your loved ones!
You also have a long dining table for you to throw the most extravagant dinner parties if you want to impress.
First Floor
Follow the stairs to find two stylish bedrooms on the first floor. From the lights turning on automatically to the en-suites in each room, it was truly heaven!
The décor is absolutely sublime with so many gorgeous petites touches. The house is welcoming, yet super stylish.
It’s like staying in a home you would see in Elle DĂ©cor.
I would be curious to see what the place originally looked like.
But it’s pretty clear that a lot of work happened in the Shell House to turn it into the most stylish holiday accommodation possible.
From the taps in the bathroom to the frames, every détails is féminin and luxurious, yet not overwhelming!
It feels relaxing and it is just beautiful.
The Other Bedrooms
As we stayed with Nanny S, we got three bedrooms, but you can easily accommodate 14 people at the Shell House.
Stanley loved sleeping in the bunk bed and our own king bed was très comfortable.
The last bedroom on the second floor was as beautiful as the first.
From the original floorboard slightly crackling under your feet to les touches modernes that had been added to the house, you gotta fall in love.
I am usually a country kind of girl when it comes to interiors with classique furniture and a fireplace.
But I have been dreaming of a modern terraced house like this one. It was like being in a movie set at times.
Garden
The garden is small, but as you open the sliding doors in the dining room, you get more space to sit down and spend quality time together.
The house is so luminous thanks to its design. It’s a beautiful open space so that it looks more spacious.
I can totally imagine a gathering with a dozen people there.
Grab a chair opposite the kitchen space and relax with a cup of tea et voilĂ !
A Day At The Beach
I reckon the Shell House will be very popular in the summer. Indeed, it’s literally 5 minutes walk from Bournemouth sandy beach.
So we decided to check it out and have a drink on the pier.
Stanley had fun on his new scooter (you can win the same in our current Xmas Giveaways 2023!), while we observed the local surfers battling against the waves.
We then had dinner at l’iconique Harry Ramsden’s Fish and Chips. You can’t make it better when you are on the seaside.
The food was dĂ©licieuse and I loved the retro 50s vibes dĂ©cor! It’s like being back in time.
After such a beautiful afternoon, we made it back to the Shell House to watch a family movie.
Et voilĂ , our Weekend At The Shell House In Bournemouth was over. We drove home happy and relaxed!
Shell House In Bournemouth – Le Verdict
The Shell House might look like your usual terraced house but come inside to discover a world of beauty and style!
The entire space is absolutely stunning from top to bottom. The modern touches mix well with the original features and with such harmony!
What room is your favourite? I can’t decide myself but I would say I definitely got inspired by the open-plan kitchen.
It got me dreaming of a modern and stylish island like this with a marble top. A place where we could all sit and live together.
What’s your favourite UK Beach? Have you ever visited Bournemouth and its sandy beach?
Fancy a UK seaside break? Book your stay at the Shell House. Â Is your party over 14 people? Have a look at the Beach House too.
