Bonjour lecteurs! Time to reflect on my Monthly Highlights and June 2022 was a busy one with a trip to Oxford and many days out in Kent.
Do you do a mid-year review of your targets? I paused and reflected on what I have done so far in 2022 and I am feeling so much more positive than at the start of the year. What goals are you yet to smash? I have a couple I want to concentrate on during the rest of the Summer, but overall, I made so much progress. It makes me super happy!
Jubilee Weekend
June 2022 started with le fameux Jubilee Weekend and all its festivities.
For us, it was all about catching up with our family and friends and enjoying days out.
We had a picnic, went to a village fête… So many memories in the Kentish countryside! I absolutely loved it. It was like being in an episode of Midsomer Murders.
Mini Trip To Oxford
The following week was still half-term, so we had a mini-break in Oxfordshire.
It was so refreshing to be out and about in England. J’adore discovering new parts of this country. I have already been to Oxford bien sûr, so this time, we stayed on the outskirts of the academic city.
We stayed at the beautiful Mollie’s Motel & Dinner and we had a fabulous time. Read my full Frenchie Review here if you fancy.
We also made it to villages nearby like Witney (Bonjour David Cameron!) and Abingdon.
And I was back in an episode of Midsomer Murders, lol!
We stopped by the river and looked at the local rowers’ teams practising! Le rêve!
But we also stopped by the très beau Blenheim Palace! WOW! We’ve been before with Grumpy Boyfriend, but I forgot how majestic it was…
Woolton Farm & Local Gems
The week after was another Frenchie adventure, this time a bit more local as we stopped by Woolton Farm near Canterbury to discover the new BBQ menu.
And we stayed in a Bell Tent! Stanley was so excited. We have never done it before but it was super comfy!
Think long walks in the sunset of the Kentish countryside, English wines in the gardens…
Romantique? Non! Stanley was running around, having fun in the vineyards with a very cute little girl he met on that day! He is always so sociable!
We also drove to Sandwich. Have you been there before? It’s such a beautiful place! Very old English! Mon préféré!
I can’t believe we have never made it there before when we have been living in Kent for over 4 years! We will need to come back!
Back To School & Life
But it was time to go back to school and routines. I have been carrying on my journey at the local gym and I am still loving it!
Who would have said so! I even did my first-ever Pilates class. Quelle surprise! I survived it! Even better, j’adore!
My body feels so good after. Have you done it before?
And we also made the most of the sun with an impromptu trip to Cambersands après l’école. It was l’occasion parfaite to test my new Maison Lejaby swimming costume from the Nouvelle Vague range… What do you think?
London & Nostalgia
We also had a weekend in London. Stanley tried Japanese sushi and maki for the first time and… c’est un succés!
We made it to Borough Market and I felt so nostalgic about our days in London. We used to go all the time there and then walk along the Thames. I actually remember having food there with Grumpy a week or so before Stanley was due. He had oysters and I could not because I was very pregnant!
And we attended a party for the new George at Asda Billie Faiers Collection.
What a lovely way to celebrate Father’s Day! Back in town, dans notre élément!
But Ashford Is Good Too!
After such a beautiful weekend, back to réalité in Ashford!
I went on a mini Frenchie adventure in town with Stanley. Au programme: scooter in the park, bowling, a visit to the library to get beaucoup de books, and a cheeky piece of cake at Macknade!
Quel bonheur!
And I also stopped by the Under the Rainbow Art Exhibition at the Ashford Designer Outlet. Ok, I admit, I also stopped by Sandro and Maje…
I even got a cheeky beautiful dress! But it was in the sales!
Canterbury & Herne Bay
I was quick to show off my new fashion find when we went to Canterbury that weekend.
We went for a beautiful lunch at the Corner House and it was absolutely divine! The restaurant looks like your usual pub from the outside, but once you are in the new area at the back, c’est une beauté! The decor is absolutely beautiful and the food was SO GOOD!
We finished the afternoon with an escapade to Herne Bay! And I was a bit nostalgic encore! I went there back in 2008 or 2009 on a school trip when I was a French assistant!
But la raison why we stopped by the coastal town was…
Coco!
For a new rabbit! Et oui! We thought Chanel could do with a bit of company, so we got a new lapin!
Her name is Coco and she is a mini lop too.
Don’t be fooled, she looks all good in the pics but she is a cheeky madame, that’s for sure!
Now both Coco and Chanel are running around in the garden.
So much Progress!
June 2022 was such a lovely month with many days out and adventures! We even made it to the Battle of Britain Air Showthe last week.
I did a mid-year review to see how I was doing with my 2022 targets and I have made so much progress!
Sometimes, life slows down and if we don’t have anything in the diary, I feel like somewhere, I have gone wrong.
But looking back over the last 6 months, I have already achieved so much both on a personal level and with my work.
I was feeling a bit stagnant last week and this reflection made me realise that I am working towards so many good things, I must never give up and carry on!
Blogging & The Influencing World
I have been feeling quite nostalgic lately, especially about the early days of Stanley. 2016 was such a beautiful year despite the bumps (like his heart surgery). Back then, I decided to start the Frenchie Mummy Blog to have a voice as a new mum.
I was very naive about how it worked and the whole influencers industry.
And don’t get me wrong, it is a strange place with many dark sides to it. After all, it involves scrutinising yourself all the time and it can be hard if you are naturally a perfectionist like me. Or if you are good at self-critic ?
But from the start of this journey, I was determined to make it a succés. Of course, back then I did not know that it would become my job, but I wanted it to work.
So anytime I have low moments, I must remember all the skills I learned along the way and the progress I have made. I feel like I have improved so much. And more importantly, being my own boss has really been pushing me to constantly improve and learn.
What do you think influence you or push you to become a better self? What stage in your existence caused big changes in your life?
Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures and rock those dreams of yours, always ?
Looks like you had an amazing June together making fabulous memories!

Thank you so much! Trying to balance it all. Have a lovely weekend, Cecile x
Wow! I don’t know how you squeeze so much into one month! Your new rabbit is so adorable! My children have been asking for a house bunny for a while now, but with two cats in the house, its not possible at the moment.
It looks like you had a very busy June! Love the new dress that you bought!
Looks like you had a wonderful month, great photos too
Looks like soooo much fun!!! Amazing photos. Love the face painting and the food looks yummy. Hoping to take my little one bowling for the first time this summer.
This was so lovely.
Somewhere new and exciting to visit looks fab
I still don’t know how you do it, fitting so much in the weekends. Stanley is so lucky to have you as a mum. My son tried sushi for the first time too and he loved it, my daughter not so much. I guess we did a lot this month too but I am exhausted. We went to Menorca and then Butlins and today we’re off to Legoland. It has been full on.
It’s so easy to focus on our failures at the end of every day but if you look back at all the things we have achieved these last 6 months, we can see our success more clearly. Even getting back each day, all the hurdles we overcame is amazing.
So many great memories there 🤗
Looks like a great month!
The bell tent sounds great! We love glamping!
