There are many benefits to choosing a multi-generational holiday. First of all, you get to build genuine connections with other generations. Personnellement, I feel that it’s perfect for children to spend quality time with grandparents they may not see often.
Plus, you can get some extra babysitting! We’ve done it many times over the years, and it was great to have one romantic evening with Grumpy Boyfriend while Stanley stayed with his nan. I knew he was in good hands with her and that we would all have a lovely time. Who can say no to a little date night?
Un autre plus of multi-generational holidays? You can split up your group so that everyone does what they fancy. If you want to explore the area while the grandparents want to chill by the pool, you can divide your cohort. I think Stanley would rather have an ice cream in the sun, while I can enjoy a bit of shopping without feeling guilty.

When it comes to the destination, you need to choose your spot so that the whole family is happy.Idéalement, you’ll want somewhere easily accessible from the UK. Mild climate countries with lots of activities are perfect. Why not explore different European destinations? Locations like Crete or Spain are usually un bon choix. It’s likely to have a short flight time, offer a safe environment, and be home to a wide variety of family-friendly resorts. Now that’s my kind of holidays! Last year, we made it to Rhodes, but I fancy Bulgaria or Malta this year. We shall see… Where would you like to go?
You also need to find the right accommodation. With a bigger group of voyageurs, space and comfort are key. Renting a villa seems to be la solution parfaite: it’s practical.
Plus, it gives everyone room to relax on their own whilst still sharing communal areas. Choosing villas in the Greek islands allows families to enjoy beautiful surroundings and private spaces without feeling overcrowded. It’s such a beautiful part of the world. We love it there.

Good communication is essential when organising a multi-generational holiday. Start by discussing expectations early, including the basics such as the budget, travel dates, destination requirements, and activity preferences.
See what everyone would want out of this trip and try to accommodate it without over-complicating it. The way to do it is to nominate one person to handle bookings and logistics to keep things simple and avoid the duplication of effort. You will probablement have to be flexible, but think about the free time it will give you once here. It will be a joint effort to look after the little ones so that mamas can also relax fully and not be in charge at all times. It’s a winner for me! As long as I have a good cocktail in the sunshine, with my toes in the sands or by the pool, I am in!
