Do you ever remember specific moments from your childhood? The ones that are deep-down buried in your memory and come back to you all of sudden? This week, it happened to me when I received a lovely package from Brioche Pasquier full of tasty Frenchie food: brioches, croissants, pains au chocolat and pains au lait (literally bread milk!). It was all there!
As soon as I opened the box full of this lovely food, I knew what I needed to do: hold a Frenchie breakfast with Brioche Pasquier bien sûr!
Frenchie Mummy’s remembers her childhood
As a French person, Brioche Pasquier is close to my heart. It is a synonym of my culture. It’s all coming back to me now as if it happened again yesterday. On Sunday mornings, my dad would get me a croissant or a pain au chocolat from the local boulangerie.
C’était la tradition. Papa would get up early and get ‘le pain et le journal’. Basically, he would visit our local bakery, get some fresh baguette (in our house, we liked it not too cooked, still tender and warm) and the newspaper (he still buys and reads the same one every day after all those years! I reckon when Baba is a little boy, my dad will probably send him to get it for him!).
Then, Papa would get prepared for one of his favourite hobbies: la chasse. Yeah, my dad is a hunter. You see, Frenchie Mummy comes from the very rural France, the one where English people like visiting and relaxing when they can. Being a Sunday, I will get up late. By the time I would be up, my dad would be long gone. But it would always be there on the table, in its little white bag: un croissant or un pain au chocolat for mon petit-déjeuner.
I can remember it well. Impatient, I would get my chocolat chaud ready and I would dip the dearest thing in it. The smell, the view. It all comes back now. It’s like I am 10 years old again. I am like Proust having a moment with a madeleine… (A famous moment in Frenchie literature. Check it out if you don’t know!)
Frenchie Mummy holds a Frenchie breakfast
I have not had one of those moments for ages! In my Frenchie household, our breakfasts are well different. Both Grumpy Boyfriend and I are such in a constant rush, we never take the time to enjoy the breakfast together. Well, to be true, when my partner leaves the house to go to work, Baba and I barely wake up. I do enjoy having lie-ins before I get back to work soon! But, yet I miss our lazy Sundays in bed. Who can do so with a Baba who gets up at 8am?!
So when I received all this lovely food from Brioche Pasquier, I decided that it was time for us to have a Frenchie Breakfast, like in the old days when I was little. And enjoy some good viennoiseries. After all, France is so famous for its delicious food and Brioche Pasquier is not missing out there! The brand is still using the same baking methods that his founder, Gabriel Pasquier employed when he created it in 1936! C’est si bon! Check out what we enjoyed this week!
As soon as Baba woke up, Frenchie Mummy prepared the Frenchie breakfast. While he was playing, she got everything out for the big party: brioche, café, croissants, lait… It’ was all there! Even a friend of Baba!
Our Frenchie breakfast
La table with our Frenchie breakfast was all done! Ready to share a lovely moment with my family !
Frenchie Mummy had her favourite: some brioche with chocolate, with a coffee very milky s’il vous plaît! I don’t have it any other way. And let’s not forget a fresh grapefruit juice.
Grumpy Boyfriend had some jam and a black coffee.
And Baba? Some homemade compote with milk and un pain au lait.
The breakfast was délicieux and we even had a little party afterwards.
So what do you think about our Frenchie breakfast? Do you want to organise yours this weekend? Go for it! And don’t forget to have it a Frenchie way with Brioche Pasquier! ?
A big merci to Brioche Pasquier for reminding me of my childhood and the lovely food. Tomorrow, we will have a Frenchie lunch with a croque-monsieur!
Disclosure: This post was commissioned by Brioche Pasquier, however, all opinions are my own.

You can’t beat a pastry based breakfast in my view – pain aux chocolates are just the best! Baba looks like he’s having a great time with the balloons, as well as enjoying all the pastries! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
