February 2026 – Time For New Beginnings

Bonjour lecteurs! Isn’t it crazy to think that we have nearly done a third of the year already? Spring is definitely on the way with flowers and trees in bloom, and it makes me feel so much more positive. We may have had a beautiful start to the year, but I can’t wait for warmer days ahead. For now, time to reflect on the past month. February 2026 was a short one, made with daily walks in the country and quiet days, but also some fun adventures. Reflecting on it, I realise that the rest of the year will be full of promises. After all, it is a time for new beginnings.

Take Back to London…

London will always have my heart. It’s such a buzzing city with so many experiences to offer. Don’t get me wrong, I love our little corner of Kent. But a weekend in London is always an exciting one.

Staying at The Drey and walking around Earl’s Court, I was dreaming of a flat in la capitale while shopping.

But we also had a blast watching the new Cirque du Soleil show Ovo, and it was so spectacular! It’s truly a jaw-dropping experience, with beautiful costumes, remarkable performances and colourful touches. In between some cheeky pancakes in town and going to the Science Museum, we had a beautiful family weekend.

Working Quietly Backstage

The second week of February 2026 was uneventful. It was all about catching up with deadlines and school life. As I was shopping to add to my transitional wardrobe, I realised how much I missed my fashion career.

Mind you, I don’t miss working at the weekends, but styling clients, finding pieces they will cherish for years… A new idea was spreading, and it reminded me of 2016 when I started my blogging adventure here.

It’s funny how life can be cyclic at times. 10 years ago, I was considering starting the Frenchie Mummy around the same time. Maybe because after a long winter, I thrive for new beginnings? I am thinking about staring a new fashion business and I am rather excited about it.

Our Anniversary & Valentine’s Day

I am still planning it all as we speak. I am only testing the waters to see if it’s une bonne idée. The thing is, I am already quite busy with my freelance work (March is always full opportunités) and work life. But I fancy a new project, so stay tuned!

But let’s go back to my February 2026 reflections with our anniversary and Valentine’s Day. What did you do then? Stanley stayed over at Nanny S so that we could enjoy a beautiful dîner at our local Ivy restaurant.

I dressed up and put some makeup on et voilà! What a fun night out without the little one…

Half-Term in Sussex

As soon as the romance was over, it was the start of half-term. I sometimes dread this one as it can be full of illness and it tends to be cold and miserable. Having said that, it went actually quite fast and I got spoiled.

Indeed, we stayed at the Ashdown Park Hotel, where I got the most relaxing body massage ever. Not only that, but I also made the most of the spa.

Plus, the Hunny Pot Afternoon Tea was délicieux. Our mini winter stay was pure bliss. Even more when we’ve made some très spéciales memories in that hotel over the years. It’s just so relaxing there. J’adore its country vibes and the décor.

I can just stay there all day with a cup of tea and a good book, watching bunnies and deer among the park. It’s like being in a movie!

Back To Reality

Once our little country escapade was over, it was time to go back to routines. It was all about planning my new venture, while dealing with deadlines and other life events.

And just like that, February was to be over! It’s such a short month. In between school, swimming and work, the last weekend was upon us.

I made it quick to London for a cheeky shopping session with one of my friends in Covent Garden. As we were walking around town , we found it all a bit quiet. Many must have been away for half-term.

Not that it was a problem as we had a beautiful dinner at Restaurant 45.

Back To Beckenham

We also made it back to Beckenham to visit some family. It was very strange to be there, as it is where it all started for me in 2008. Back then, I got a job in Bromley as a French assistant and I was renting a little room in the area.

This is where the biggest adventure of my life started! As I was reminiscing my days as a 20 something Frenchie girl living in London, I wondered what happened to some of my past acquaintances.

We also walked around Kelsey Park, where we used to take Stanley as a baby. We passed right by our old flat and it was so sweet to see that he remembered the balcony. So much have changed over the last 10 years or so.

I do sometimes feel nostalgique about London, but I am also so aware of how much I have changed and learnt since then.

Life is truly a cycle. In 2008, I was ready to be a teacher. In 2016, I started this blog. In 2018, we moved to Kent and I decided to embrace the freelance life. Then, I explored a bit with the world of fashion, before going back to marketing.

Quite a journey! And now that 2026 is going faster than ever, I am ready to start something new!

Time For New Beginnings

I was actually in town with Stanley the other day and I realised that I might be over Ashford now… The last 8 years or so have been full of adventures and I’ve learned so much along the way. But I am feeling more and more that it is time for new beginnings. I am longing for a new place in the country.

Is it because I have reached my 40s and I am at a crossroads in my life? It’s all a bit uncertain and I have so many ideas and projects I would like to explore and develop.

But I think I am going go for it and ventured into fashion again. I can’t wait to source beautiful fashion pieces and style outfits for my clients.

Deep down, I know I am going to love it and I am so excited for it. You need to give it a go in life. If anything, the last 20 years or so showed me that you never know what is around the corner, especially when you take risks and decide to go after your dreams.

Spring is sometimes depicted as a season of renewal, growth, and new beginnings. Well, let’s do it then! Like flowers and trees, I shall blossom in some new areas of my life!

I hope you will be inspired to do the same with your life.

Disclosure: This post might feature some sponsored content I recently published but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! This a post where I share some reflections as a mum in the country and in London. I hope it will inspire you to get on more family adventures.
