As Spring is approaching, it feels quite right to rewrite my story and become my very own romantic heroine. To do so, think soft silhouettes, floaty fabrics and effortless movement with some touches féminines.

A Frenchie Gal in the UK
Once upon a time, a Frenchie girl was coming to the UK, dreaming of finding her very own Marc Darcy. The challenge was high. Indeed, she was a fan of romantic novels. From Pride and Prejudice to the famous chick lit series The Shopaholic, she knew she would find her prince charming in England.
It had to be! After all, even Bridget Jones landed the beautiful Marc Darcy despite being the clumsiest of all. Only that Frenchie girl loved to think of herself as an independent woman and liked her freedom. But her friend told her, “Let’s go out for a stroll in the countryside”.
The Frenchie lady was eager to explore somewhere new. So she put on a nice dress and grabbed her e-reader to meet her friend in the sunshine.
The Secret Garden
As always in a good romantic novel, a complication was on its way. The friend in question was delayed, and the Frenchie lady found herself alone in a beautiful secret garden.
Fear not; she was happy to wait in the sun with a good story as she walked around the beautiful jardin in her gingham dress. She felt pretty, like a modern heroine, ready for anything to happen. She liked the delicate details of her outfit, such as the scoop neckline and the cute design.
It was parfait for a slow morning in the sunshine. As she was seating in the shade for a while, she was dreaming of her own Mr Darcy.
Mr Darcy
Only as she was waiting for her friend, a fascinating gentleman happened to be there. “Could it be him?” He asked the Frenchie girl for directions and they got chatting away.
Soon, they found a lot in common and she quite liked him… Already, she had forgotten about her friend being late. The gentleman might have looked a bit grumpy as he was talking politics, but she decided that he had a lot of potential.
So, she gave him her phone number. After all, he treated her to some beautiful tulips that matched with her outfit of the day. He might also be a romantique deep down…
The rest is history! The Frenchie girl’s friend eventually turned up and was all ears about this encounter. Quelle surprise! It did happen in the end, the Frenchie girl might have found love of her life in this secret garden. She had him, her very own Mr Darcy! What a delight! And all of this because she was a romantic who enjoyed reading love stories.
Plus, I would imagine that the beautiful dress from Very UK might have worked some magic on the mysterious man…
