Bonjour lecteurs! I hope you are having a fun Sunday. As I explained earlier today in Living Arrows 38/52, it’s time for me to relax as we had a very exhausting week. So I am doing what I enjoy the most, blogging and offering our readers a fabulous giveaway! We had a little fashion break over the Summer but we are back today with a super fab label. Watch this space for more every week from now on as we teamed up with some gorgeous fashion labels (and some competitions too!). We are so happy to return to our weekly fashion post. En effet, Baba Fashionista with Cooee will present you with some cute clothes and the chance to win the exact same outfit as Baba! C’est parti!
3 Facts about Cooee
- Cooee is a new sustainable kids’ clothing brand that makes beautiful everyday kids clothes for children aged 2-7. It has been set up with social responsibility and good ethics to ensure that the entire production process supports the Ugandan people who make the clothes – from the farmers to the seamstresses. We have featured many sustainable brands on the blog before and I still strongly believe that it is the way forward. To me, c’est important to help and support others. While I was not that concerned when I was younger, since becoming a maman, I am very much more conscious of this issue.
- Each item of the collection features unique hand-drawn print designs to engage children’s imagination. If you check out their website, you will find some fun prints such as crocodiles, monkeys or unicorns. It’s very sweet and the colours are also bright so that our little ones have fun while looking cute! I like buying Baba some traditional items, but dressing him in witty clothes is also fab!
- Cooee is part of the CMiA. They use 100% CMiA Certified Cotton to ensure the clothes have been produced with respect to both people and nature. It means that by buying its clothes, you help smallholder cotton farmers in Africa to improve their living conditions. As part of the CmiA Certificate small farmers are assisted to improve their living conditions and those of their children. Child labour, dangerous pesticides and genetically modified cotton are strictly forbidden. So not only you help locals but also their enfants. Because not everyone has the chance to be a prince like my Baba, I want to be that maman who does a little something for others in need!
Charlie Croc T-Shirt – navy
The first item we received for this review summarises très bien the brand as we previously described it.
Made of soft 100% CmiA Certified Cotton, this item is colourful and fun. The blue navy colour looks great on Baba and so easy to match with trousers or shorts. We decided to go for the second option for a full look (plus this post gives you the chance to win this exact outfit), but Baba will for sure wear this top in the coming weeks with some warmer trousers!
The crocodile featured on it is playful. Its soft colours make the garment fun. But it’s not your traditional animal! Non! This one is special as he is riding a bike! So in other words, it’s a Frenchie crocodile. Je sais, it doesn’t have a necklace made of garlic nor a baguette, but le vélo says ‘Je suis Frenchie!‘ all over it, non?
Plus sérieusemnt, the choice of the print is great as it reminds us that we are supporting Uganda.
Overall, the outfit has a nice feel and it is comfy enough to play (and run away from Maman) in the park.
Noah Shorts – mid blue
Matched up with this cute top is a pair of blue shorts.
I like the not so traditional cut of this item. They are a bit longer and therefore so comfy.
It also means without a doubt that this piece of clothing will fit again Baba next Summer. Now that it’s cold, I packed it away but I will make sure to reuse it next year!
Also made of 100% CmiA Certified Cotton, this item is easy to wash and no ironing! Hurrah for Frenchie Mummy as she is not a very good with housework…
Parfait for any adventurous toddler like Baba, it matches really well the navy top.
Baba Fashionista with Cooee – Le verdict
We really like both the t-shirt and the shorts we received to write this post. Cooee is a great sustainable label which supports locals in Africa.
The collection is fun and smashes the clichés about genders. If you look at the girls’ section, you will see some monsters (don’t worry they are nice!) and crocodiles on the items. Pourquoi pas?
After all, Girls Just Want To Have Fun 🙂 (This little interlude is just for Grumpy Boyfriend as it’s one of his fave songs ever!)
More importantly, the full ensemble was super comfy and you can see from our pics that Baba was a happy baby wearing them. Plus when you have a mucky boy like me, it’s nice to think you can easily wash their clothes.
But Cooee is more than a cute name and some funny characters. It is a label with a conscious concept and I will always love that!
So if you want to support a good cause while you buy some outfits for your little one, have a look at this great brand today! We came across Cooee at Bubble London this year and we are so proud to present this brand to you, lecteurs, today!
Please note that both items we received are not yet available on the label’s website. But they will be coming soon!
