Bonjour lecteurs! Time to share with you my monthly highlights. After publishing another crazy series of Back to School Giveaways, it is time for a post plus personnel! I did not do it earlier because we had our competitions and I am actually trying to work less at the weekends and enjoy some special time with the boys instead! August 2020 taught me the importance to slow down. Ready to see what we were up to this Summer?
Birthday Girl!
August 2020 started with a bang! Indeed, I officially turned 35! Eek! As we were just back from Crete, we did it low key this year.
Grumpy Boyfriend booked us a table at the gorgeous Pig and Sty and I enjoyed a pizza!
The staff was so sweet! They even surprised me with a brownie ‘happy birthday’ dessert. And we enjoyed the rest of the day on our scooters with Baba!
It was lovely!
Some Time At Home
The rest of the week was spent at home, playing, reading…
But also learning in the garden! And bien sûr, we went every day to local parks to blow off some steam.
We had some glorious sunny days and decided to make the most of it! The other half of the month was a bit busier for us.
The Potting Shed in Maidstone
Indeed, we had a lovely weekend at the Potting Shed in Maidstone. After a visit to our fave playground in the area, Mote Park, we stopped at the Elite Pubs Bed and Breakfast for a mini night away.
What a gorgeous evening! Here again, more family time with my favourite boys and some yummy food!
While we were there, we enjoyed driving the Audi Q5 55 TFSI e quattro S. More time at the park and we also caught up with some friends we have have not seen for too long!
The third week was clearly dedicated to Baba with games, visiting local places and fun times outdoors!
Our Trip To Oakham & Warwickshire
We then took a few days off to discover the East Midlands and Warwickshire.
We had such a lovely time at the Wisteria Hotel!
Au programme, some more yummy food but also some playtime at the local playground!
Oui! I know! What a fab month for Baba!
We also stayed two nights in Leamington Spa and discovered a bit Warwickshire.
If you are in the area, I really recommend Kenilworth Castle and Elizabethan Garden.
We had such a blast! Me pretending to be a princess and Baba, well…
Not being a very good knight actually ? He was more interested in running around!
Back Home
Never mind! I managed to have some romantic time with Grumpy Boyfriend at the drive-in cinema at the Ashford Designer Outlet!
You need to try this once! Seriously! It was so cool to watch a movie in the car like the old days!!!
And for the rest of the week, it was back to our favourite… The park and local places bien sûr!
August 2020 – Break Break Break
Doesn’t look like August was exciting for us? Well, I really slowed down and enjoyed simple things last month!
August was full of bike rides too. Not a single pictures because usually, I try to just enjoy nature and the experience overall. I sometimes share some stories on my Instagram.
But it is also nice to be off the phone.
I had a couple of mini-breaks like that over August 2020 and I don’t feel even guilty about it. It was not bad to have the laptop off.
Reflection On August 2020
Ultimately, I did not achieve much in August, nor had many work projects. But I have the feeling many of us wanted to just relax a bit and enjoy simple things in life.
If anything, 2020 probably taught us that life is not that much of a race and the culture of being busy for the sake of it might be a bit of an illusion…
Don’t we say ‘Carpe Diem‘ or ‘Seize The Day‘? Well, that is exactly what I did and it was nice!
Plus, we got ready to start school in September! But that is another story I will surely tell you all about in my future September 2020 highlights!
For now, wishing you a fab week ahead!
I hope you had a good summer and you are now ready to rock the new season!
Did you take it slowly too this Summer? Do you feel that you are enjoying more simple things now? What memories did you make with your family?
Disclosure: This post features some sponsored content I published last month but it is merely a list of my highlights of the month! A post for me to remember what we have been up to!
