Bonjour lecteurs! Are you planning a trip to London with your family soon? Or looking for a pied-à-terre next time you are in town for business? As we are based in Kent, we often make it to la capitale. Even better, for Mother’s Day, we had a dream weekend with my tribe. In between shopping sessions and a photo shoot, we stopped by a beautiful hotel right by the Thames. Our Family Stay At Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars was all I wanted for the occasion. Here is my full review.
Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars
Located directly outside Blackfriars station, Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars offers a luxury stay in the heart of London.
With over 200 rooms and suites, you will fall in love with its décor luxueux while making the most of being in this thriving area.
It’s la place parfait to explore many iconic locations in the city such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tate Modern and South Bank.
You can’t miss the Grade II-listed building by the river. Did you know? The five-star hotel is actually located on the former grounds of King Henry VIII’s Bridewell Palace. Now, that’s my kind of places…
Our Arrival
We landed at Waterloo Station so that we could have a stroll on the South Bank before our arrival.
It’s probably one of my favourite areas in London. It holds so many memories there. We always stop by the Jubilee Gardens, have a wonder among the books stands and all the little boutiques along the way.
But we were quick to cross the bridge to make it to the other side. You can’t miss the imposing building right by the tube station. As soon as we arrived, I loved l’atmosphère.
L’Atmosphère
The hotel is très chic. You can’t stop but notice the Hyatt Regency vibes as soon as you come in.
It’s a mix of contemporary designs, with neutral tones so that it feels welcoming and très élégant.
Our Family Room
Our room was spacious with a king-sized bed. While Stanley made himself at home with the chocolates waiting for us, I checked out the views outside.
Our chambre also featured a sofa area where you could easily relax. There is no way you would feel cramped!
It was comfy and decorated with taste.
I also loved the tiles in the bathroom! As always with Hyatt Hotels, you are in for a family stay that feels très chic.
Everything is there for your comfort without being extravagant. Yet, it feels luxurious at all times.
Dining At Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars
L’hôtel features two restaurants. You can choose to go to NYnLON, a New York-style bistro for you to enjoy all sorts.
Or if you fancy something a bit différent, try the Chinese Cricket Club where you can enjoy some classic Chinese cuisines in an elegant and inviting setting.
No wonder why le restaurant gained Two Rosettes! We were very impressed with our dîner. We went for a Jasmine Set and everything was délicieux from start to finish.
I mean look at those Pear Dumplings! What a treat! It followed by a traditional Peking Duck before we even got our mains!
It was all very good and I must say that the service was excellent.
We loved it!
Exploring The Area
Before enjoying such lovely food, we also had a stroll around the area.
Bien sûr, we stopped by St. Paul’s Cathedral and took some photos like tourists.
This district is always so vibrant and exciting. We did not make it to The London Museum as we’ve been there not so long ago. but I really recommend it.
We also found a very cute square and stopped by to admire the fish and the story of people who sacrificed their lives trying to help others.
A lot to take on, so we came back to the hotel and stopped by the bar for a drink or two.
Le Petit-Déjeuner
After a cosy night in our luxurious bed, we made it back to the restaurant for le petit-déjeuner.
And it was packed! The hotel is clearly un succés with many tourists stopping by. Its central location is idéale.
We got to enjoy a varied buffet. But we had to select some croissants bien sûr! If you fancy something savoury, you can also order breakfast and they will make fresh eggs or omelette for you.
The setting was beautiful in the morning, as the light was coming through the windows among all the greenery of the plants. We might have just been in London, but it felt like we were on holidays. Such a beautiful way to start Mother’s Day.
Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars – Le Verdict

Its prime location is parfaite for you to explore the town. You’re just steps away from the River Thames, next by Blackfriars Station and you can walk to iconic areas such as The City and Westminster.
The luxury hotel did not disappoint. We had a welcoming stay in a modern and chic setting.
It’s absolutely beautiful and the staff were all on hands to help. What a treat for Mother’s Day!
C’est parfait for families who want an adventure in London with une touche de luxury.
