Bonjour lecteurs! Who likes a bit of rock and roll? What’s your place préférée in London? We love exploring the capital, so when I heard that Wesley Camden Town had just opened its doors, I was so looking forward to checking it out. I had so many memories of this area. It’s where I got my first-ever tattoo, par exemple. I thought I was super cool back then 😇 Plus l’excuse parfaite to enjoy a bit of vintage shopping too! Ready for a Weekend In Camden At The Wesley Camden Town?
The Wesley Camden Town
The Wesley Camden town is a new boutique hotel in the heart of Camden, the famous eclectic London district, but also a 10-minute walk from Euston.
The building was originally a chapel from 1824, but it has been refurbished with sustainably sourced materials for a chic and modern look. Perfect if you want to explore further the fameux Camden Market.
And because of its past, l’hôtel has a structure that is très différente.
Our Arrival
So we were off to London for the weekend. Direction Saint Pancras where we stopped for a cheeky Yo Sushi before taking a cab to Camden.
The hotel is basically situated between Mornington Crescent & Camden Town, so a short walk from either one.
As soon as we arrived, the Wesley Camden Town was quite imposing. It’s an ex-location of worship.
There is a guard at the entrance and you also need a code to enter, so it felt secure.
Stanley loved walking around! We got a warm welcome at the desk and off we went to the 3rd floor!
Our Superior Room
Our room was not extremely spacious, but it had a double bed and a folding bed on the side for Stanley.
And everything is done so that you get everything you need. We liked the storage space with plenty of space to put all our stuff.
I might even have found a little boy in there 🙂
En plus, you also have a table and you can make yourself a coffee and relax.
Mon détail préféré? Le décor! It was beautifully done, très moderne and yet stylish and subtle.
The wallpaper works well, while the frames with iconic locations in Camden. What do you think of this set of colours?
The Bathroom
But what I absolutely loved was the bathroom. It looks so chic with the white tiles.
Yet, it has all been done sustainably.
It looked very bright thanks to the large arched window. It brought so much light into the room, for an even more modern look.
There was no bath, but the concept is to travel sustainably so… And it worked! The shower was huge and felt very luxurious with a white theme.
Facilities & Atmosphere
The Wesley Camden Town has literally just opened its doors at the end of December.
So there is no restaurant for now. I am not sure if it will be a project in the future.
But it feels like a quick-stop hotel for an adventure. Bear in mind it used to be a church, so don’t expect a pool or anything else much.
But the entire building worked out. You come in what looks like a big church and then it turns out to be made of comfy and modern rooms, with a monochrome décor.
Dinner At The Sister Hotel in Euston
So for our dinner, the press team kindly invited us to their other hotel, the Wesley Euston.
It’s a good 10 min walk. Now, it might not be for everyone, but we still had a lovely dinner with salmon for the starter, aubergines for my main, and some cheeky profiteroles en désert.
I must say the service was great. It was a quiet night with the main occupants there, but the manager looked after us well and was ready to help with any questions.
Bien sûr, you might fancy a meal out a bit more adventurous. And Camden offers all sorts of cuisines to satisfy your palates.
But it is nice to have the option.
Camden Adventures
Talking about Camden, we had beaucoup d’aventures in the area.
We stopped by a family bakery to grab a cupcake, but there are all sorts.
Camden Market has it all for you. We walked around Camden Lock and bought some books in the vintage shop.
But it was also lovely to walk around Hawley Wharf and Buck Street.
Imagine a place bursting with couleurs, where you can bump into some punks playing music on the bridge.
Or walk along the canal with some exotic food for a romantic time?
Guess what we ended up doing? We went to Babylon Park! The indoor amusement park is absolutely insane! But heaven for a 7-year old 😝
The Wesley Camden Town – Le Verdict
The Wesley Camden Town proves that you can refurbish old buildings and give them a new glam life.
Indeed, the ex-Methodist church is now a beautiful boutique hotel with modern rooms that meet all your needs for an adventure in town.
Our room was bright, with beautiful decor for us to relax. It was not huge, but it was comfy. And we loved being in the heart of Camden.
There is a cute Asiatic shop right next to it and we certainly stocked up on all our fave goodies such as sesame crackers.
Another lovely family adventure in our memories book and I would certainly return, especially at such a competitive rate!
Prices for a family room at the Wesley Camden start from £157

I have never been to Camden! Will check it out next time I am in London!
A beautiful place to stay – will keep in mind next time I’m down that way
I love Camden. Hawley Wharf is one of my favourite new developments in London. I love the food market there and it’s indoor so no matter what the weather there, you can have good food. During Black Friday we also purchased lots of coins for Babylon park so we’re always there. I bet Stanley loved it. At the end I always drop the kids to soft play so my husband and I can have a coffee break before heading home.
It certainly looks like a wonderful place to stay and plentyto do and see nearby
Love the decor style of that hotel, all the geometric shapes looks super cool, just up my street!
