Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery – Review

Some weeks ago, I had one of these days. Baba was still recovering from his croup and he needed so much attention, I was knackered. Anyway, Grumpy Boyfriend was as helpful as he could. But at the end of the day, he has a company to run. Baba malade, we agreed that he would take care of the weekly shopping on his own, while I would stay at home. You know, I might moan about Grumpy Boyfriend sometimes, but really, he is a good guy.

He came back one hour later with some magazines to cheer me up. ‘Look what I bought you! Some mummy reading!’ A gossip magazine with Charlotte Crosby from Geordie Shore on the cover. Big yawn, as I am not at all into reality TV shows. The second magazine was the June issue of Elle with a free hair product. A hair product?! Seriously?

MmEz_f-maxage-0_s-200x150

I would have preferred another publication with a free nail varnish! My hair is the last part of my body that I care about. For example, I used to wash it with shower gel without any shame if I was running out of shampoo. Conditioner? I can’t be bothered with it.

So here I am with that in my hands, wondering what to do with it. Now, ladies, you may have heard and endured of Postpartum Hair Loss. I mean, nobody told me about this kind of thing happening to you after giving birth! That would have massively put me off trying for a baby! Is it time for me to look at hair restoration clinics? I know that many locations like Mittal Hair Clinic in the UK offer a free consultation, but really?!

I have always lost quite a lot of hair. I would be the kind of person who hoovers and as soon as she packs up, she finds a bunch on the carpet. But the first time I found a handful of my dearest cheveux in the shower, then I realised two things:

  • I wasn’t getting any younger for sure, malheureusement (I was probably more like ‘Merde!!!!’ Just saying).
  • Postpartum effects suck! If you read this post and you are trying for a baby. THINK TWICE!

Desespérée, I decided to try ce produit miraculeux. I had nothing to lose and it was free… It is very simple to use. You apply Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery to dry hair before going to bed. Massage a generous amount into your scalp and roots. Within a few minutes, it’s gone and you can go to sleep. What’s great about it is that it doesn’t leave any mark on the bed. Furthermore, it smells lovely. You only need to shampoo it in the morning and then, off to you to style your hair the way you want.

So Frenchie Mummy followed the instructions and to her surprise, found her hair transformed. It was smooth, felt stronger. Oh miracle, within a couple of weeks using it, I noticed a big improvement, losing way less hair than before. My split ends also looked better.

Now, I am cheating a bit as I wash my hair in the evenings. I simply apply Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery in the late afternoon and I rinse it in the evenings. I have to say the result is very good, behind my expectation even. Mes cheveux have been looking so much better since I used it twice a week!

To help the process, I also started using L’Oréal Elvive Damaged Hair shampoo and conditioner. I read other reviews on Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery and some people said their hair looked a bit greasy with it. I have to say that I didn’t experience it at all.

So go on Frenchie Mummy, what about le résultat!?

Overall, I am very pleased with Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery. I will definitely continue using it every week. My hair feels smooth, glossy, healthy and stronger. It looks healthier and soft. More importantly, I am not spreading so much hair behind me. I don’t feel like an animal moulting all over the flat.

'Are those extensions, Bob?'
Frenchie Mummy after Baba, looked like that for some time…

Plus, my hair feels easy to brush and light. It’s official, I am another woman ?. So it’s a massive winner and I would strongly recommend it to any mummy who is suffering Postpartum Hair Loss.

All opinions expressed are my own. Frenchie Mummy was fully aware of the risk (of having a chevelure de rêves!) she was taking when she tried this product. Nobody got hurt in the process and both Baba and Grumpy Boyfriend are very eager to test it themselves ?.

Nominations for the Mumsnet Blogging Awards 2016 are on until 31st July. If you liked this post, I would love you to nominate me for the Best Comic Writer category. It’s very simple; just click on the link above. Merci from a Frenchie blogger

Hi Cecile, I can’t remember how much hair I lost way back when, after I had my two (life was a blur), but I do know that if there was the remotest chance I could halt the moult, I would have tried!

Oh I may have to try this! I was feeling very smug because I didn’t experience any post-partum hair loss. In fact I was getting annoyed because my hair was so thick!! However, 10 months on, my hair has now started to fall out, and I have those lovely little tufts of hair around my hairline 🙁 so I’ll give this and go and see if I can prevent further hair loss! Thanks for sharing #marvmondays

How lovely to have found a product that actually works! Hair products are difficult to get right. I can only use 3 minute Aussie Miracle on mine – if I don’t it’s a nightmare! (I have long, wavy hair and lots of it!) Lots still comes out in the shower. I like the cartoon btw 🙂 Alison x #chucklemums

I wrote a comment, and pressed post and then my internet died, don’t you hate that!!??? Anyway if you get 2 comments you know why, but just in case first one failed then here is attempt 2 lol. Hair loss is annoying. My mums has actually go so fine now and it worries me. I loose a lot of hair but luckily it grows well too. We actually brought a hoover with the pet attachment for my hair!!! Our dog actually doesn’t shed hair as she is a Moodle, but between me and my 2 girls we are always clogging the shower drain! #mg thanks for linking up

This stuff sounds great. I’ve always been a bit of a hair shedder, particularly so since having children. They really don’t tell you about the hair loss, do they? #TriedTested

My hair is crazy since I had my daughter – I have a frizz halo of hair around my hairline which doesn’t grow longer than a couple of cm and stand on end all the time. At least those hairs are not grey… yet #KCACOLS

I thought I had avoided the hair loss – then suddenly when Marianna turned about 12 months it was coming out in clumps! I was worried for our drains it was that bad. Thankfully it seems to be back to normal now (fingers crossed!).

The overnight recovery sounds fab too – might have to drop hints to my other half in time for my birthday. 🙂 #KCACOLS

I remember losing lots of hair. I couldn’t believe it as it swirled away during washing. Luckily it grew back naturally just fine, but this would be a fab product to try out during those initial few months. Thank you for sharing with the #DreamTeam

Ooo sounds interesting, I don’t take much care of my hair…well until recently, I’ve been considering making an effort and bought a hair mask treatment and everything! I like the sounds of this very much, will take a look and maybe get some in for after I give birth…I was not happy with the postpartum hair loss! #KCACOLS

Never heard of this product, but always like things that make my hair look a bit more lively – though I also pay little attention to my hair these days! I wash mine at night too so would have to do the same as you. The post baby hair loss is so annoying. It’s not the loss so much, as when you end up with all those little short bits growing back along your hairline – that takes months to look vaguely right again!

Thanks so much for linking up with #FridayFrolics! Hope to see you again next time.
