Mother’s Day Giveaways – Win a Classic Cork Yoga Mat worth £65

Bonjour lecteurs! It has been so busy lately with all our fab giveaways and many blog events that I barely had the time to exercise. I usually try to go for a daily jog but the terrible weather has not helped either… After some snow, it is now raining a lot and the last thing on earth I feel like doing is to run. I know that many of our readers love exercising and keeping fit. Like moi, really, when I am not spending much time at a cool bar like Café Fantasia 🙂 So when I organised our big Mother’s Day series of giveaways, I knew I needed to offer more than beautiful lingerie, cool accessories or natural beauty products… Today is totally different as you can Win a Classic Cork Yoga Mat worth £65. Feeling like you could do with a bit of meditation or use a new mat to exercise indoors? This one is for you! So don’t miss out on this unique opportunité!

CorkYogis – A Brand on a Mission

CorkYogis is a website where you can find some of the best Cork Yoga Mats. Seen on le fameux Dragons Den, the shop is also supporting the charity Destiny Foundation. The CorkYogis’s founder came across this organisation and felt they were doing something important!

This is what I want to be like!

Indeed, it fights injustices of human trafficking and the challenges that survivors face. The charity helps women in India out of sex slavery by giving them an education so that they can learn skills to find a job. Their motto is ‘One life at a time’ and we totally love that, because if you do too much at the same time, it is not always effective.

So the brand is here to combine the huge popularity of yoga in the west while supporting vulnerable communities. For every natural CorkYogis mat purchased, the label provides a contribution towards a training course for one girl. For every CorkYogis bag purchased, you help someone else!

And the mats then? Well, we are coming to it right now!

CorkYogis – The Mats

The brand’s founder is herself a huge yoga fan but the constant slipping around on wet, sweaty mats became a bit too much for her. And then, she came across some Canadian paddleboarders using a cork surface for paddleboard yoga. L’idée de génie! The cork holds some amazing grip so that you don’t slip!

A great natural colour too!

We seem to do a lot of collabs with similar brands this week 🙂 It was the same concern for the brand Slipfree that we featured in Baba Fashionista!

  1. I like that it provides an amazing non-slip, anti-bacterial and natural surface for yoga practice with grip that actually increases as you sweat.

  2. It looks great – environmentally friendly, natural and attractive. It seems to fit in well with the whole yoga ethos.

  3. I’ve never used a cork mat although I they’re appealing as they’re more eco-friendly. My mat is getting slippery as it’s old and I have thought of replacing with cork but it can be expensive.

  4. I really like the idea of a cork mat. It’s more hygienic, and eco-friendly & I imagine it’s more ‘grippy’ than a conventional yoga mat. I also really love the ethos of the company Cork Yogis who seem to be all about giving back to the community & empowering women.

  5. I think the cork yoga mat is fab and love that they’re helping women in India out of sex slavery – what an amazing idea!

  6. so many great features but the fact it is sustainable is great news to hear as well as every purchase helps the cause to stop human trafficking.

  7. I currently have a georgoues purple plastic yoga mat, but it does get quite slippy! I actually have a cork bath mat, which is great as it absorbs water really well and is non-slip (but would obviously be far too small to borrow to do yoga!), so a much larger version of that sounds like a great idea to replace my current yoga mat!

  8. I’d love to give it a try. I’ve heard so much about these fab natural made cork mats that absorb sweat making hot yoga much easier

  9. It’s so gorgeous, I have been dreaming about all the difficult yoga positions 8 will be able to do on it, as I will be practising so much !

  10. It is so gorgeous, that I have been dreaming about it. Specially all the really difficult positions I will suddenly be able to do, as I will be practicing so much on the cork mat if I win!

  11. I love the sound of this – would make my yoga easier! I can only do so many moves due to neck issues, but what I can do would be great on this mat!

  12. I think this is brilliant. Great for the cork workers, great for the planet but most of all GREAT FOR YOGA AND PILATES! I really would love one of these.

  13. Because it’s made from a natural substance and is more hygenic, I bet it doesn’t smell a bit funky after all that sweat.

  14. I think it’s a great idea, I love that it’s a natural product and won’t have that horrible rubber smell

  15. The cork mat looks good. I bet it is quite springy and easy on the hands and feet. I must say, the picture reminds me of Coldplay’s The Hardest Part video, lol.

  16. I’ve never seen a yoga mat made of cork, but anything that means it’s not all yuck and slippy is genius!

  17. I love everything about this mat. Sustainability, touch ability, natural, comfort…everything!

I even think I would be motivated to do far more Pilates and yoga if I had one.

And I would be the subject of intense envy at any classes I took it to!

  18. I hate plastic things they cause too much damage to the seas, I think cork is a brilliant material we should use more of and the mat looks fab

  19. This is just fantastic. My yoga and Pilates would improve no end as I would be unable to leave the mat for long!

  20. i like that it is sustainable – i think its important to use environmentally friendly materials where possible
