Bonjour lecteurs! You know me, I love a good challenge! So when Britmums asked us to cook an easy lamb or beef dish, I went to my local Tesco on the same day to get going! After a quick shopping, we were all set to go! And because we did it all this weekend while it was sunny, I went for an easy option! Here is my #MeatMatters Challenge with Britmums. Have a look at our Instagram stories too for some pictures and more 🙂
We Love Meat in the Frenchie House!
Being Frenchie, both Baba and I love eating meat. Is there something better than a yummy burger with some chips? Ask the Frenchie baby… But Grumpy Boyfriend is vegetarian so it is not often that I cook something like that…
A shame really, when you know that both beef and lamb are rich in proteins.
My fave has to be lamb, as it provides four essential vitamins (such as Niacin, vitamins B6 and B12, and pantothenic acid) that help reduce tiredness and fatigue.
En plus, it is also full of minerals and it is yummy! Pardon if you are vegetarian, but it is true 🙂
So Easy and Quick!
As the weather was getting better, I was eager to cook something fresh and quick! I am not much of a chef in the kitchen, but some lamb balls were quite effective and my little Baba did not complain after all! He had all his lunch and he was then full of energy to enjoy the sun for the rest of the afternoon.
But if you want to do something a bit fancier, it is up to you! Some tostadas, a quick massaman curry or a delicious beef stew… With beef and lamb, it is so facile to cook something yummy and in no time!
Our #MeatMatters Challenge
I personally got some lamb mince (I always use that for a spaghetti bolognese as I find it lighter than une version traditionnelle).
Next step was to crush some breadsticks to make my own breadcrumbs. Plus, so much fun for Baba to help me! I used to do this at my grandma’s when I was younger so it brought back some sweet memories!
All in one bowl while the other was for the egg. It helps the crumbs to stick better.
I cut the mince in little portions, added a bit of herb, some seeds for some extra vitamines and the balls were ready to get fried!
I prepared a colourful salad to go with it et voilà! It took me less than half an hour and it made a healthy lunch for my little man!
You can admit it, you fancy something like that for dinner now, right? Plus, it makes the perfect dish for sunny days too! Fresh, healthy and quick to cook!
The Frenchie might actually be a bit of a chef after all 🙂 Non?
